Today's Consideration: God Speaks. Are You Listening?

Today's Considerations are short observations about who God is and who we are in God. These observations are meant to weaken, hopefully, our conscious (and unconscious) habits that separate us from God and bring to awareness our characteristics that keep us in alignment with God.

Today's Consideration. God speaks to us in many ways and through many circumstances. He also spreads his wisdom through his people. Though there is nothing wrong with trusting people who have had deeper experiences with God, We must be careful, However, To not revere them so absolutely that we turn off our own direct connection to God. God is no respecter of persons. This means that he imparts his gifts to everyone and can use anyone to shine the light of his glory. As we grow in faith and experience in God, We must battle internally with smugness and arrogance so that we don't exalt ourselves as we exalt the Lord. Though we may have experience, We must remain humble enough to receive God from any vessel. And those of us who are young in the faith should not fear speaking when God moves us to. Your role, Regardless of age or newness of faith, Is as important in the body of Christ as anyone else's. Do not become a respecter of persons such that you clamp down on God's Spirit within you claiming to not know as much as the spiritual elders. Do not stop your ears because God's voice comes through the mouths of babes. And don't close your mouth when God seeks to use your young voice. Doing so elevates man over God, Effectively disconnecting us from God's Spirit. Thank you.
