Before stepping into something where I doubt myself or need a little boost, I often listen to I Have Confidence from The Sound of Music. I know that might not be everyone’s go-to, so for those of you who don’t rely on Julie Andrews for encouragement, I created this short practice for support. Whether it’s imposter syndrome, self-doubt or the pressure to prove yourself, this meditation is here to bring you back to your breath, your body and your inner strength. Let this be a pause to reconnect to your confidence and remember: you deserve to be here and bring value just by being yourself.

Welcome to this guided meditation.

My name is Isabella,

I am a certified coach and Reiki master and I'm going to guide you through a short pause to help you reconnect to yourself before stepping into something that matters to you.

We've all experienced imposter syndrome.

It's normal,

It's human,

It's a sign that you care as you push yourself outside your comfort zone.

So before we begin take a moment to acknowledge that feeling,

That sense of doubt or unease and recognize it as part of your growth.

Find a comfortable seated position or you can stand if you prefer,

Whatever helps you feel most centered right now.

Gently close your eyes or soften your gaze if that feels better and let your shoulders drop.

Unclench your jaw and bring your awareness to your breath.

Inhale gently through your nose and exhale slowly through your mouth.

Do that one more time.

In through your nose and out through your mouth.

Think of your breath as your anchor.

This will help you feel present,

Not just now during this meditation but during the event you're concerned about and even after the event.

Always come back to your breath.

It really is the best way to be in the present.

You might be feeling nervous right now,

Maybe you're worried about how you'll come across,

Whether you're good enough,

Whether you can do this and that's okay.

Those thoughts are totally normal but they're not the truth.

Try to remember you are not here by accident.

You've earned your place.

You have something very valuable to offer just by showing up as yourself.

Perhaps you're telling yourself you could have prepared more and that might even be true but do not underestimate your instincts and the years of experience that have brought you here.

Your inner critic might be talking to you,

Telling you you're not good enough or that you didn't do enough.

You do not need to listen to it.

Try putting that voice into a box just for now.

Picture it being locked away temporarily and focus on what you know deep down.

Listen to your intuition and your inner clarity.

Silently repeat to yourself,

I deserve to be here.

I don't need to be perfect.

I trust myself.

Think back to a time when you handled something well.

It doesn't need to be something huge.

Just a moment where you showed up with courage and clarity.

A time you felt proud of yourself.

Let that moment come to mind.

Feel that version of you in your body.

That version is you.

You've done hard things before and you can do this too.

Now take a deep breath in and as you breathe out,

Imagine releasing the pressure to impress.

Breathe in again and this time breathe out the fear of being judged.

Just let it go.

You're not here to prove anything to anyone.

You're here to share something.

Something only you can offer.

You are here to offer your presence,

Your knowledge,

Your experience,

Your unique self.

And that's more than enough.

Bring your awareness now to your feet.

Feel the connection to the ground beneath you.

Strong.

Steady.

Solid.

Supported.

Safe.

From this grounded place,

Repeat silently,

I am ready.

I trust what I know.

I bring value just by being myself.

Let your breath settle into a natural rhythm.

Let your body remember its strength.

Let your mind soften around the fear.

When you're ready,

Gently open your eyes or lift your gaze.

Take one more deep breath in and exhale with the sense that you've got this.

Because you do.

Thank you very much for meditating with me today.
