Hello and welcome.
I am Ipek Williamson and I want to share something about intuition today that will probably surprise you.
There are approximately 100 million neurons lining the walls of your gut,
Your digestive system.
100 million.
That's more neurons than your entire spinal cord contains.
Scientists call this the enteric nervous system.
Some call it the second brain.
This second brain communicates constantly with the brain in your scalp.
It sends signals upward long before your conscious mind has formed an opinion about anything.
When something feels off,
Before you can explain why,
That's your gut brain talking.
Real neurological data.
Your body really knows things your thinking brain has not caught up with yet.
Here is something else most people have never heard.
Researchers.
Studied people who had damage to the part of the brain that connects emotion to reasoning.
These people were completely logical.
Their IQ was unchanged.
But they made terrible decisions over and over.
What they had lost was the ability to feel the signal,
The subtle bodily sensation that tells us which way to go when logic alone cannot decide.
Without it.
Pure reasoning failed.
Good decision-making requires the body to be part of the conversation.
Your intuition is that conversation.
Intuitive,
Hits also tend to arrive in the spaces between thinking,
In the shower.
On a walk.
Right before sleep.
The resting mind keeps working on problems below the surface.
And when it reaches a conclusion,
It delivers a flash of knowing.
An answer that arrives whole,
Without steps.
This is why sleeping on a decision so often works.
I want to share something personal here.
Every time I ignored my intuition,
I regretted it.
Every single time.
The partnership that felt wrong from the first meeting.
The decision the logic approved and my body resisted.
The direction I talked myself out of because I could not explain it clearly enough.
The body was right every single time.
I was wrong to override it.
That's behind me now.
My intuition is my closest ally.
My most trusted partner,
And learning to listen to it has changed more about my life and my work than almost anything else.
The reason most people override it is simple.
We live in a world that rewards knowing you can defend in a meeting.
Logic.
Data.
Evidence.
All genuinely valuable but they created a hierarchy where anything that cannot be fully explained gets treated as unreliable.
And so the signal gets dismissed.
Buried under more research,
Talked out of by other people.
Until later,
When it turns out the signal was right all along.
Let's change that right now.
Together.
Now gently close your eyes and take one slow breath.
And bring to mind a decision you are currently sitting with.
You don't need to analyze it,
Just let it be present.
Now imagine you are standing in a wide open space.
And ahead of you.
Two doors side by side.
Each one representing one of your options.
They look the same from here.
Begin walking slowly toward the first door.
As you get closer.
Notice what your body does.
Does something open?
Does something tighten?
Does your pace quicken or slow?
Does anything in you.
Lean forward or pull back.
Now turn.
Walk toward the second door.
Same questions.
Same level of attention.
What does your body do as you approach?
You don't have to open either door today.
Just notice which one your body moved toward with more ease.
That ease.
Is your intuition speaking?
In its own language.
Before the mind had a chance to argue.
Now take one breath.
And gently open your eyes.
If you want to keep developing this.
My video on inside timer,
How to trust your intuition.
Will take you further into the practice.
And my audio track,
Intuition,
Your quiet but powerful partner.
Is something many of my listeners return to again and again when they need to access their own deeper knowing.
Both are on my profile for you.
Your most experienced advisor has been with you from the very beginning.
It speaks in sensations rather than sentences.
And it has been waiting patiently.
For you to start listening.
Take good care of yourself.
