So welcome and please get yourself comfortable and cozy for your yoga nidra practice.
Getting comfortable and cozy and settling in and growing still,
Welcoming stillness in the body,
Breath by breath.
You might like to take a few deeper breaths,
Fiddling up on a breath in,
Maybe letting the breath go with a sigh or a yawn,
And if that felt nice maybe another breath in and a sigh,
Dropping out of doing,
Into being,
Relaxing the mind,
Settling into the body.
Just let yourself be,
Let your breath be,
Maybe observing the breath as it comes in and out through the nostrils or as it rises and falls somewhere in the body.
Simply observing the breath and maybe observing the sensations of the breath,
The small sensations and the large ones,
The obvious sensations and the subtle ones,
And maybe noticing how your breath cycle finds its own effortless balance.
So what might happen if you let your breath go,
How might your body breathe,
What might it feel like just to be breathing in this moment,
Watching that effortless flow,
Watching the breath come and watching it go,
Becoming a witness to yourself,
To your breath,
A witness to the whole of this moment and all is welcome in this moment,
All is welcome in your spacious awareness and as the breath goes out become aware of the back of the body and as the breath comes in become aware of the front of the body,
Breathing in front body,
Breathing out back body,
Breathing between the front and the back of the body,
Breathing out into a sense of settling into the back and breathing in to a sense of lightness in the front and now just holding yourself in between.
How is it to be in this middle place,
To be held in the center?
The invitation now is to witness yourself as a body of water,
Witness yourself as a calm and still body of water.
You are a calm and still body of water and above you is the dark and deep night sky and upon your reflection stars from above twinkle and shine with delight as if seeing yourself from above,
Witnessing these stars reflected in the water across the eyebrows as sprinkling a string of stars over the eyelids and lashes and a blanket of stars over the cheeks like infinite tiny freckles across the cheeks and the forehead,
The scalp.
A bright star shines on the tip of the nose and inside the mouth on the tip of the tongue.
See a bright star shining the base of the throat and the whole constellation of stars reflected in the water of the face.
See these stars shining across the collarbones,
The shoulders,
Upper arms,
Elbows,
Forearms and palms.
Ten stars in the two thumbs left and right,
Index fingers right and left,
Middle fingers left right,
Fourth fingers right and left and the two little fingers from fingertips through palms and wrists,
Forearms,
Elbows,
Shoulders and collarbones.
See a blanket of stars shining over the chest,
The right side of the chest,
The left side of the chest,
The whole chest shining down over the belly,
The mound of pubic bones.
See bright stars shining over the belly,
Over the pubic bones and in through the hips and thighs,
Knees and shin bones,
Ankles and feet.
Ten bright stars on the tips of the big toes,
Second toes,
Third toes,
Fourth toes and fifth toes.
From toes through shin bones,
Knees,
Thighs and hips over the belly and chest,
Throat and face arriving at the top of the head witnessing the whole galaxy of stars reflected in the body of water.
Witnessing the whole galaxy of stars stars reflected in your body of water.
These stars above reflected below as you through you as if you were adorned in the universal design,
The landscape of the cosmos.
So how is that?
An invitation to float and be in the ocean of awareness.
How might it be to float and be in the ocean of awareness?
The invitation is to arrive and settle somewhere within the body wherever there is a warm welcome.
To sense,
To be with one's truest,
Deepest desires,
Feelings and inner knowings.
Just to be here with yourself is more than enough.
Perhaps welcoming a bit of space to invite intuitive knowings to arise in any form.
May the wisdom from deep within bubble to the surface now and through the rest of your day or evening guiding your way dear one.
As this practice of yoga nidra draws toward a close you might come back to that steady rhythm of breath.
Perhaps invite a few deeper breaths,
Yawns or wiggles to bring yourself back to the surface.
Calm and rested.
Thank you so much for wisely choosing to rest.
Do you take your time moving and rolling over and stretching before you move on to the rest of your day or evening?
You have been practicing yoga nidra.
The practice is now complete.
Go well.
