Welcome to tonight's stream which is called In Silence We Trust and I'm delighted to share with you Tara,
Harpist friend on my right here,
And out of shot is Ken,
Her husband,
And they're gonna play us in with a little bit of music for a few minutes whilst a few people join the stream.
So do say hello and tell us where you're from.
I can see we've already got Guest and Blossom and a few other people so enjoy the music.

We had the added bonus of Ken joining us on the flute which I hadn't mentioned in the Information Group land but that's great.
So we're gonna be doing a stream as usual but we'll have some musical interludes with Tara and Ken.
I'll be offering some insights shortly and we're going to use the music to guide us into the meditation tonight and we'll also finish with some music afterwards so you've got three sections of music as well as the normal insights and questions and answers.

Welcome.
Tonight's stream is in silence we trust.
For those who have used the Infinite Silence Meditations on Insight Timer you'll notice that one of the phrases and insights I use in the guidance there is in fact the very words in the title of the stream in silence we trust in silence we trust and that's in there for a very good reason which I'm going to explore with you tonight.
It might seem an odd thing to say from the space of the mind at first but when it comes to self-realisation,
Silence or infinite silence as I most often refer to it is absolutely fundamental.
Absolutely fundamental and you'll probably remember one of the other lines in the guided meditation is in silence you will realise your truth and in truth you will realise you are silence.
So let's just look at this word and what it points us to a little bit further in the context of self-realisation.
I'm sure we've all recognised by now however long we've been in this body-mind experience where it's 10,
20,
30,
40,
50,
60 years in my case that things change.
Things change.
There's impermanence.
There's always this constant state of change and that's in people,
Places and things and when it comes to people as we've all experienced both in ourselves and with others our bodies change,
Our relationships change,
Our feelings changed,
Our emotions change,
Even our preferences and so forth all changing all of the time and we're living in this constant state of change by virtue of the gift of time and that's okay but when it comes to self-realisation what we really need is an anchor and that anchor it turns out is maybe surprising to some is silence because the thing about silence as I've said on prior streams is that it never changes and I've also said on prior streams you can have you cannot have sound without the backdrop of silence you may have heard a quote I've shared before which originates from Debussy I think.
Which originates from Debussy I think.
Music is the silence between the notes.
Actually Debussy used space between the notes but he meant silence.
Music is the silence between the notes and when it comes to self-realisation that constant backdrop of silence the infinite silence is actually the energy field in which all phenomena all phenomena appear.
Sound is a vibration and all other phenomena are vibrations and all vibrations eventually return to silence.
So silence is the if you like the one constant of the universe and infinite silence as I've explained over many streams it is that when the realisation of the true self our true essence is realised we realise that we are what I refer to as infinite silence and I also make that synonymous with infinite awareness or infinite consciousness.
I use infinite silence the most because that's how it came in the in the realisation that flowered in the form that we know as Philip and that field will be seen to be not only infinite and eternal and beyond time beyond space beyond form but also unchanging and that unchanging backdrop is necessary for all the other phenomena to be experienced that we experience in the body mind type experience and it's that therefore that is our our permanent anchor so to speak.
So meditation is all about opening to the realisation of the self.
Spiritual inquiry is part of that same process and the essence of meditation listen carefully to this the essence of meditation is awareness.
Awareness is in fact meditation and I've already said that awareness is synonymous with silence infinite silence infinite awareness and infinite consciousness are all just different words for the same essence because this field of infinite silence it's seen as the self is realised is aware of itself as that it is a knowing that it is that and that it is eternal and that it is beyond form beyond time beyond space so it turns out that silence is our spiritual anchor.
I remember a few years ago I think it was in the midst of lockdown actually here in the UK and I was asked by a spiritual community in Canada if I would do a little video for them for them and they wanted it to be about self-care and in that video I pointed to that what the highest form of self-care the highest form of self-care is silence or more accurately infinite silence and that's because of the unchanging nature of silence and so this leads us to because this can become our spiritual anchor this leads us to why that line is in the meditation in silence we trust silence because it is unchanging unmoving untouched unblemished is ultimately trustworthy everything else everything else in the physical domain changes the qualities of silence are always the same and infinite and as I've said infinite silence infinite awareness infinite consciousness are all one and the same and the essence of meditation as I've said is awareness and you'll have also some of you may have heard me point out on prior streams every phenomena whether it be an emotion a sensation the breath whatever it is all of it appears on what I call the green screen of consciousness it appears in front of so to speak or in the field of infinite awareness or infinite silence and the most common example I give of that is an emotion an emotion may not have been here a few minutes ago and then it arises and a trigger event takes place and it's like a wave and suddenly an emotion's there and it's hit a peak and it may become quite intense but if you just watch that witness that emotion it fades away and because emotion is also a vibration it will also fade to silence for more on that the live stream replay transmuting fear into love explains that in great depth the key part of that is what is it that sees the arising of the wave of emotion and that's awareness which is synonymous with silence silence and awareness in this context are one and the same infinite silence is an infinite field of self universal self-aware energy and the trick in self-realization is to recognize that this awareness is always here never not here and all the phenomena thoughts feelings emotions sensations sensations breath all appear in front of awareness and within the field of infinite silence and remember that's always unchanging unmoving untouched unblemished hence the term hence the pointing in the meditation and the title of the stream in silence we trust and we can demonstrate this unchanging nature to ourselves and that's key to the realization of the self by not only recognizing that this field of awareness or this infinite silence or this infinite silence spots the phenomena the troublesome emotion recognizes it when we can see that awareness is aware of that emotion the next step is to recognize and ask ourselves is that which sees or witnesses this emotion this phenomena this sensation is it in any way affected by the appearance in our primary example by the appearance of the emotion and eventually even if you can't see that right now you will come to see that in fact that which is witnessing the infinite awareness the infinite silence is always untouched unmoved and unblemished by the appearances by the phenomena that's why silence is our spiritual anchor and hence the term in silence we trust and this trust we take baby steps if you like on the spiritual journey of trust but eventually we get to what those who've been on previous streams will have heard me referred to as the highest form of trust the highest form of trust and it turns out and this might sound strange to the mind at first the highest form of trust is not having to trust at all the highest form of trust is not having to trust at all what that means is it's become a knowing a realizing that one is that infinite silence that infinite awareness that infinite consciousness and because there's the knowing no longer any need to trust in something that up until that point we have perceived as separate from us actually it is us the infinite silence the infinite awareness the infinite consciousness it is that that is realized and in that realization you will see that not only are you that but that actually you have always been that and have never not been it so on the spiritual journey what we're really looking for is that permanent unchanging anchor and it turns out to be silence and in silence we trust therefore and the trust becomes the knowing well making perfect sense folks so let me just have a quick look at what any comments so we've got a yes from anak and blossom okay so laura's saying or asking but if there is nothing in the silence is it like a void sounds kind of scary but i'm kind of whoops excuse me let's just jumped kind of spiritually struggling so the infinite silence i'm referring to laura you could refer to it as a void or more accurately in spiritual terms it's often referred to as no thing or no thingness and all phenomena that which we experience in the physical domain appear in front of that or within that perhaps is even more accurate now the reason it might sound a little bit scary that's actually quite normal is because we're so bought into this idea and belief that all i am is this body mind and the one thing that the ego mind identity fears the most is its own demise and it equates that demise with death and it equates the death of the physical body vehicle but actually in spiritual self-realization it's not the body that's dying it's the death of the identification with the belief in and the attachment to that all i am is this body mind and that's why fear comes up in as you deepen into awareness that fear will inevitably arise but if you can see that fear as a phenomena that has appeared in front of awareness or within that field of infinite silence and see it simply as a phenomena in the knowing that the silence itself or the awareness itself is unaffected by the appearance of that then what you'll find is that that fear and it might be quite intense will actually just simply fall away the wave of fear will arise and it will fade to silence all of its own accord it will be transmuted by the awareness into silence for a full exploration of that somebody's already written it up there thanks linda for sorry ruth for doing that transmuting fear into love there's a live stream replay where i explore that in great depth so that is the kind of insight and you're there and thanks for putting up the group there it's called nothing special thank you for that ruth i just want to pick up on just remembered a couple of other questions that came from within the group so i'm going to go to those first because i like to give priority to people in the group yeah so one was um there it is an experience from nicole which i'll just briefly summarize she's been using the infinite silence meditations regularly and she basically says notice all sorts of phenomena going on from twitching muscles a beating heart in the head space a sense of being enveloped in the head space a sense of being enveloped in brightness and feeling lighter and sometimes she's noticing herself feeling like let go of all that you are not and sometimes random memories are coming up and she's just watching them and sometimes song lyrics too appearing within awareness um and basically she goes on to say that with all that is happening she just has this sort of sense of all right i give in and i sink deeper into relaxation and the sort of comment she makes at the end days i hope all this makes sense and the short answer to that nicole is it does these are all signs of deepening into awareness particularly things like the random memories coming up from the past or it may be past troublesome events traumas emotions and so forth all of that will eventually come up to be seen and to be witness and if you just trust in that awareness then these things will simply dissolve into that field of awareness that field of silence so that's really a summary for you so keep going is what i would say there was another one that was a little bit more involved which i'll just mention here it's from somebody in the group actually there's been a significant change since they shared this but i'll basically the person saying she's struggling with avoiding and procrastinating and facing a specific challenge something that she knows from within that she's called to do but he's really struggling with that and asking why she is stopping herself from excuse me doing something she feels called to do what i did when this and there's more to this question which i'll come to in a moment but the first thing i did when i saw this in the group was pointed this individual to three live stream replays one i've said a few times already tonight they're transmuting fear into love live stream replay the second another relevant replay is the emotions and blocks live stream replay and finally trusting the heart another live stream replay now the person who's asking this question actually listened to all those three which is what i suggested that they did and the transformation they experienced from the struggles that they're reporting here through listening to those streams was pretty significant because she later reports about the an amazing transformation which i'll share with you in a moment what tends to happen is when you get some insight or some calling from within to follow some calling from within your heart in that moment it feels uplifting expansive inviting something that you really feel called to do five minutes later 10 minutes later a day later a week later whatever mind identity kicks back in and starts to make you doubt yourself and brings up excuse me all sorts of fears this isn't to test you it's to invite you to let go of your mind it invites you to let go of all that's standing in the way of following that heart's calling and for a full exploration of that you need to listen to the trust the heart live stream replay so when these things come up don't see them as challenges see them as invitations and there's actually another live stream replay which is called from triggers to treasures from triggers to treasures that will eventually help you see that these triggers these blocks these emotions these issues that come up actually aren't things to be pushed away they're actually treasures because as you face those from this field of infinite awareness this infinite silence they will dissolve of their own accord and it will then be easier to follow your heart's calling so the reason people struggle on the journey is because these things come up as part of the process and rather than seeing them as challenges which is how people see them you need to see them as opportunities and invitations and face them there and then it's also another reason why consistency and commitment to your spiritual practice and awareness-based meditation which is what the infinite silence meditations are all about is central it is so easy to fall back into old patterns and if you consider that we've been living by those patterns maybe 20 30 40 50 years and all that's why that commitment to that practice is so important and the person who asked this question recommitted to those listened to those streams and started to see a huge transformation starting to take place again and coming back into awareness and i just want to read to you what they said it's amazing now how i feel after having listened to all three live replays i noticed this evening the stiffness in my body has reduced just by being aware it's amazing that's in contrast to that one of the points that i didn't read out was there was a huge pit that said in capital letters i'm stuck i'm stuck the benefit of committing to the infinite silence the infinite awareness the inner trust in that is profound so hopefully for that person i've covered it and um that's kind of like a summary there's much more detail um in those live stream replays that i've just mentioned i'm just gonna have a quick look at a few more and nicole saying yes this includes tears that you watch without judgment and full acceptance even if it's puddles of this exactly nicole exactly nicole allow all that to happen don't judge it and in that field of awareness it will all dissolve of its own accord okay joseph uh has who's age seven has a fear about dying his question is what shall i do about it okay this fear joseph and for everybody actually is really the big fear as i've already said a few minutes ago that everybody has to face at some point on the journey of self-realization the the key thing here for you joseph and for everybody is not to run away from that fear what i'm about to say will be will be realized you don't need to believe anything that i'm saying about self-realization but as the nature of the self is realized and you realize that you are in fact infinite silence infinite awareness infinite consciousness it will also be seen in that same moment is that it's eternal and that you are that which means folks that you are in fact eternal life that means everybody joseph everybody is in fact eternal life this body mind that you have in this case joseph it's a bit like a car at age seven you might have a toy car joseph but you when you grow up you might have a a car of your own a car is something that you have but it isn't that which you are your body joseph and everybody's body is like that car it is something that you have but it is not that which you are it is not that which you are the process of self-realization is all about realizing that there is more to life than the all i am the belief that all i am is this body mind and that fear when it comes up actually if you just allow that fear to be there to feel it to face it to not judge it and simply witness or watch it from this unchanging space of silence and awareness that fear of its own accord will fall away that fear of its own accord will fall away for a full exploration of that again go to the transmuting fear into love live replay it teaches you how to recognize awareness and then the process of facing this stuff these fears that come up and that one joseph is the core one and actually everybody has that and it's central it's a central plank in the process of self-realization so hopefully that will help you for now i'm gonna go to music shortly but just to answer a comment that's just come up there from laura very quickly is there love in the infinite silence laura the answer to that is infinite silence is the source of love it's the source of peace it's the source of truth it's the source of grace it's the source of everything what i'd like to do now is ask tara and ken to play some music for i think we said about 10 minutes or something like that what i suggest you do to really benefit from this is close your eyes and let the music guide you into a meditative space tara and ken do hour-long sound baths which are fantastic by the way we may do that sometime in the future you never know but they're beautiful to guide you into a meditative space and allow this music for however long it is to guide you into meditation close your eyes just immerse yourself in the music and as the music comes to an end i'll offer some meditative guidance for a little while as Noticing the pure I am,
Pure being.
Noticing just this sense I am.
Being open to recognising that even that subtle sense I am is also witnessed,
Seen by the silent witness.
This silent witness is like sliver of ice in an ocean of water.
It's melting,
Dissolving,
Becoming one with the water.
And the water is actually an ocean of infinite silence.
Infinite awareness.
In silence we trust.
The trust becomes the knowing,
The realising.
In silence you will realise truth.
In truth you will realise you are silence.
Infinite silence.
Infinite awareness.
Be still and know.
This.
This rarefied atmosphere of silence transforms.
Transmutes,
Dissolves effortlessly and silently.
All that you are not.
Nothing you have to do.
Already this infinite silence.
Eternal life.
Essence.
Here,
Now.
And for eternity.
Be still and know.
Just being open to this awareness always.
Untouched.
Unmoved.
Silence.
Self.

Know that all phenomena do that.
All fears,
All emotions are transformed by silence,
By awareness.

The knowing,
The realisation comes when the time is ripe.
And that's why I say so many times on the streams,
You don't have to believe a single word I say.
Because truth is a realisation,
Not a belief.

And that's the big fear,
Really,
Laura.
But don't worry too much about this.
It's part of the process.
The identity fears this the most,
But eventually it is dissolved by the awareness,
By the silence.
And you won't have to do anything in the end.
You can be open to trusting,
As per the title of the stream,
Trusting the silence in silence we trust.

Yeah,
I had that too,
But with inner child work,
I could hold that scared part that was due to a memory of when I was four years old.
After I had held this part and spoken with her,
She feels safe now and held.
That's excellent to hear that,

Really what happened there is what I describe in great depth in the Transmuting Fear Into Love live replay.
And it's also touched upon on the emotions and blocks and the triggers are treasures.
So that is the awareness,
The infinite silence that has helped bring about that shift and holding that in the space of that awareness in that field of love automatically transforms and transmutes all of the emotional trauma.
Alan is asking,
Also with the fear of dissolution of identity,
There seems to be an issue of addiction to it.
Yes,
There is Alan,
An addiction to it.
I'll come to more of that in a moment.
All this somewhat mechanic and automatic identification with it.
I've seen what it is made of and I understand its falseness,
But my psyche won't let go.
It identifies with the construction by inertia.
Yeah,
So this kind of like addiction comes about from the belief in the case of mistaken identity.
That one belief is the core and one mistaken belief in that is the central block to self-realisation.
All other blocks are simply subsets of that.
And because that identity has been used to being front and centre stage for so long,
It seems normal to operate that way.
And so there's a kind of self-obsession,
A smaller self-obsession with this,
Which manifests as this addiction.
So the key is to recognise that that's there,
But not trust it and trust the awareness.
And by continuing to come back always to awareness,
The belief in the case of mistaken identity will gradually dissolve,
Usually in stages of its own accord.
And you won't have to work at it,
So to speak.
At first it will seem like a doing a process and that's OK.
Until we come to a space of effortlessness.
In fact,
I think I did a live stream.
I can't remember the title of it now,
But it was something like Beyond Techniques or from Beyond Tools and Techniques.
I can't remember it,
But anyhow,
There's one of the later live stream replays that's available.
It's about moving beyond technique and moving into the effortless space of awareness.
So this is quite normal part of the process,
Alan.
Key is to trust the awareness,
Trust the silence.
The rest will be taken care of.
And yes,
You will have to go through and face these fears and these these inner addictions,
So to speak.
But that's OK.
The silence is ultimately trustworthy.

My physical body keeps getting in the way.
I know there are years of trauma and I know that we are that space you speak of.
But the blocks come up as I go through time of my life.
War,
Incarceration,
I can't get that silent space to come into these spaces.
OK,
So it's quite normal part of the process,
Steve,
For that,
For that,
All of these things to come up.
And in fact,
If that's not coming up.
There's something not quite right,
Because it's easy to suppress and run away from those.
It sounds like from the way you've described that,
Steve,
Is that almost like trying too hard,
Putting too much effort into trying to make this happen.
Just want to give everybody example.
I've used this before.
About recognising awareness,
It's a very quick.
Maybe just close your eyes for this,
Folks.
I'm going to ring the tingsha bells fairly loudly.
Just want you to close your eyes.
I'm going to invite you to close your eyes and just listen to what happens.
Can do it really quite loud now.
OK.
So if you had your eyes closed there,
Or even if you didn't.
What happened?
Before the bells rang,
There was silence.
Then there was the shrill sound of the bells coming together.
And it reached a peak of intensity,
Like a wave.
And then of its own accord,
Returned to silence.
Sound is a vibration,
It's a form of energy.
Every phenomena is a vibration.
And if left,
If we don't feed it,
By in this example feeding it,
I mean doing that.
Excuse me,
That was quite loud.
And keeping on doing that.
Then of its own accord,
That sound returns to silence.
And the same is true of all phenomena.
The same is true of the trauma,
The blocks.
If you feed them,
Put more energy into it by believing in the blocks.
Believing that you are the block.
Believing that you are the trauma.
Believing that you are the thought.
Then what you're doing is putting more and more energy into that.
And just like these bells,
It will get noisier and noisier and noisier and louder and louder.
When we step back and recognise that the trauma,
The blocks,
The stuckness that we've spoken about earlier,
Are all appearances on the green screen of consciousness,
Appearing in front of or within the field of awareness.
And simply accept that we are the awareness.
Then of their own accord,
These blocks will simply be dissolved,
They'll be touched,
Shall we say,
From the inside,
And be transformed by the power of that awareness,
And they will dissolve into silence of their own accord.
And it won't be a doing.
There are many tools,
Techniques and practices that people use,
And these are not wrong,
But eventually it's the effortless grace of awareness.
All the tools,
All the techniques are stepping stones to the effortlessness of awareness.
So the key to the transition,
Steve,
Is to trust awareness,
And you are awareness or infinite silence.
So it sounds to me like you're trying to make this happen rather than allowing it to happen.
So I trust that helps and makes some sense to you.
Right.
Laura's asking,
Is the love of our loved ones in the silence?
I've lost people and it's so sad and I'm afraid of losing more people I love.
Okay,
Laura,
Good question.
All love,
All grace,
All peace,
And indeed all people are manifestations.
Love,
Grace,
Peace,
Truth,
Joy are expressions or like the perfume of the silence.
And when our physical body dies,
Which it will do,
Then they are not lost to the universe.
Yes,
Their physical body has clearly died,
But their essence,
The awareness that is expressed in their form,
Is not lost to the universe.
They've gone on another stage of the journey,
Which is the whole of their subject and the live stream.
And so their essence and the whole of their essence is returned to the silence.
And there is,
In truth,
A process of incarnating many times until we come to this realisation and we move beyond belief and beyond all desires.
And then we return to the silence.
But your relatives,
Your friends and so forth are not lost to the universe.
All of that,
Knowing that experience,
Is part of the universe's great cosmic,
Should we say,
Journey of coming to know itself in its own experience.
And the universe itself,
If you like,
Has chosen to express and manifest in all forms.
So ultimately,
Whilst the physical body is not here,
It is not lost to the universe.
And that's why so many people report having connections with past-over relatives and friends.
It's because that essence is still there.
Now you don't need to believe me on this,
Laura.
As the realisation flowers,
All of these things will become clear of their own accord.
But in essence,
Nothing is lost.
A stream replay that might help you,

Just don't want to be all alone and empty forever.
And that is also part of our attachment,
Laura,
To that identity.
But I cannot put into words the beauty of the realisation of the infinite silence.
It is so complete,
So whole,
So infinite and eternal.
The love,
The joy,
The peace,
The grace that comes with that dissolves all of these misunderstandings that we have.
It really does.

What I'd just like to do is we're going to go to some more,

But just another simple little meditation exercise to connect you all and then we'll have more music to finish.
So you just want to close your eyes again for a few moments.
This is not very long one,
But it's just a way of connecting.
So as you close your eyes,
Just ask the question inside.
Who am I?
Who am I?
And just rest with that.
If something comes,
Fine.
If not,
Also fine.
And now,

So those who am I questions,
Simple meditations,
Particularly for many people when I go to who am I without memory,
What that does is steps you beyond the mind.
And for many people,
They start to have a seeing,
An opening to awareness.
If something came to you there,
You might want to share it in the comments.
But you can use that very simple meditation at any time,
Any place,
Anywhere.
And if it doesn't work on who am I,
Go to who am I without memory.
And eventually,
What you'll see is it'll start to snap you back into awareness.
And when I do that,
Whether it's been on live streams,
At events here in the Universal Studio,
At events elsewhere and so forth,
Some people might get it a little bit on who am I,
But on the who am I without memory,
People start going to love,
Peace,
Truth,
Awareness,
Void,
Silence.
Because what it does is it takes away the opportunity to go to mind identity straight away.
So,

Good.
There are many versions of that meditation explained in greater depth than I've just done there on the live stream replays,
And there are many of them.
There are at least,
I think it's 15 or 16 or 17,
Maybe more.
Wren got For Me,
It Came As I Am This Present Moment.
Perfect.
That's great Wren.
Excellent.
And then Blossom says,
As soon as you said,
Who am I?
Who am I without thoughts,
My heart smiles,
Felt the blissfulness.
Good.
So for you,
It was a felt sensation.
It's a very simple and very effective.

Very effective meditation to come back to awareness quickly.
There's one more comment stroke question from Alan here.
I'm going to go to that and then I think I'm going to ask Tara and Ken to play.
So what does this say related to today's death theme?
The first verses of a poem by Saint Teresa of Jesus comes to mind.
A rough translation would be,
I live without living in myself and such a high life.
I expect that I die because I don't die.
I find it wonderful related to identity death versus the eternal life of the self,
The true self,
That is.
That sounds like a lovely verse from Saint Teresa there.
And it points to the death of the identity and the realisation that one is eternal life.

Nicole Amber also says she got a highly energetic yet peaceful field of awareness.

Ruth is saying,
I wonder if I can substitute before for without.
For you said today,
Or maybe in a live stream of yours,
I was listening to you explained why you used the word without.
Seems helpful to me to use before semantics.
I think it's equally valid Ruth.
I tend to use without.
But sometimes in the meditations I will use the word before.
Before time,
Before space,
Or I'll even use the word beyond.
Before and beyond.
So I don't think it's semantics.
And if before works for you,
Then go with that.
It's not a problem.
It's pointing to the same thing.
Ruth then goes on to say,
I've been getting pristine today for all the who are my questions.
Good,
Pristine,
And that is a good word for the nature of the true essence,
The true self as Infinite Silence.
It is indeed pristine.
It's permanently pristine.
It always is unchanging,
Unmoving,
Unblemished.
So pristine is a good word for that.
Good.
So the only thing left for me to say is,
