What if you don't really need to get rid of your anxiety?
I know that sounds strange because the minute you feel anxious,
You want to get rid of it.
Who wants to live with those symptoms?
But what if the goal is not to make the anxiety disappear?
What if the goal would be to be less captured by it?
Because there's a great difference between I am anxious to I have anxiety.
I'm anxious is like this.
I'm having anxiety is like that.
That space is exactly what I'd like you to have.
And it's possible to train.
Let's move between this.
Think about what's happening when you feel anxious.
Elicit emotion,
Nervous reaction.
Physical symptoms.
These four components are working completely together.
The minute there are thoughts,
The thoughts immediately create emotion.
The emotion,
Like waves,
Started to move the body and you start to develop symptoms.
And many times the symptoms are quite severe and those create more emotion,
More thoughts.
And like this,
You're starting to spiral.
But there's another component that nobody talks about here.
This is the energy.
Energy is the foundation of the body.
The nervous system conducts electric impulses through the nerves.
The energy system conducted energy movement through the meridians,
The energy lines throughout the body.
They're really working very much together.
But the difference is that the energy is much more subtle than the physical form.
Therefore,
Most people completely miss it out.
But if you develop the awareness of the energy,
You can touch and harmonize your system way before the symptoms arises.
Therefore,
Instead of thinking,
How do I get rid of the anxiety?
I like to propose,
How can I create space around Actually,
I'm asking you to become natural,
To go back to the truth of who you are,
Which is spacious human being.
The deep reason why you're anxious is because your mind is completely engulfed with identity,
I am me.
And then the minute the thought rises in my mind,
It creates issues in my body.
And then again,
You're spiraling with this ping pong of thought,
Emotion,
Physical symptoms.
When you move from tension into expansion,
Suddenly you have space.
To change.
Suddenly you have space to observe what's happening within you,
Not only in relationship to anxiety.
Life is not only about anxiety.
You start to become alive.
Open.
Wide,
There's so much more joy in your existence.
So how do we create space?
Let's say right now you're anxious,
Okay?
You have the racing heart,
Fast pulse,
Your mind is racing,
Maybe you're sweating,
Maybe you're sweating,
Completely overwhelmed with a thought.
In that moment we need to create space.
This exact moment is when you need to be brave,
As you need to pull out Because your mind tells you,
Only if I'd be able to observe my symptoms,
To analyze my symptoms,
To take my pulse,
Or maybe even to go to the ER,
Only like this I'll be saved.
But here we need to do the shift,
The big shift.
Here you need to say,
No,
I'm not switching into the symptoms.
I'm pulling out.
I'm observing.
In that instant,
50% job done,
Because instead of being pulled,
We say,
Wait a minute,
Observe.
When you observe,
You start to see,
Okay,
So what's going on?
Where are the symptoms?
What do I really feel?
Where do I really feel?
And then you're allowing life to start to move again.
Life stopped being locked by your anxiety,
By you being so afraid from your symptoms.
You pulled out and you invite life to continue to flow.
Yes,
The symptom will not disappear immediately,
But you have the ability to observe them,
To create space for them.
Yeah,
It's exactly like a river and then something can change.
You took that rock out.
And then the water starts to move.
That rock was your thought,
That rock was your obsession with the symptoms.
You took it out,
You look at the water,
You let them flow again.
Then you can breathe.
Okay,
I think you got the idea.
So let's practice now.
I want to invite you to pay attention right now to how you're feeling.
What's happening in your body?
What's happening in your mind.
How are your emotions?
And allow your mind to be attracted to the strongest symptoms,
Let's say.
Maybe tension in your chest or your stomach.
Maybe sensation that your mind just racing,
It doesn't stop.
Allow yourself to be with whatever you're observing without being pulled into it.
For example,
If there's tension in your stomach,
Observe the tension.
Try to qualify it,
To quantify it.
Where is it exactly?
Is it in the left,
In the right?
Do I see it as an image,
Maybe like a rock?
How it's looked,
What color it has,
Be fascinated by it.
And then you'll see as you're focusing in this way with the symptom,
The symptom will start to dissolve like a small sand mountain that's slowly dissolving back into the waves,
Into the sea.
Stay with it.
Try to resist the tendency to go and fix it.
To go and analyze it.
When that need arises.
Breathe into it.
And recite,
I'm safe.
I allow myself to be with the symptoms.
I'm brave.
I can do that.
You'll see that when you're doing that,
The symptoms start to dissolve and you start to get a deeper breathing.
Your mind starts to slow down.
And there's more space inside you.
Maybe the symptom didn't go away completely,
But that's okay.
Now you're more safe because you know that if they come again,
You can be with them again and they'll go again.
You're not captured by them.
You're not committed to fix them.
You're committed to be alive instead of fixing life or fixing symptoms.
And being alive,
Meaning being in the flow,
Allowing life to flow,
Not grabbing to life in any form,
Including anxiety.
Let it go,
My friend.
So next time you feel anxious,
And you have this urge to go and fix the anxiety,
Say,
I'm not my anxiety.
I'm observing the symptoms.
You don't even have to call it anxiety.
Oops.
You know,
I feel some heart racing.
I feel some tension in my stomach.
Don't need to call it anxiety.
Just acknowledge what's there is inside you and be with the symptoms.
Create space around it.
Now,
Let me talk a few words about energy.
What's the importance of connecting to energy?
OK,
As I explained in the beginning,
Energy is the background of your physical existence.
Energy,
Like anything else,
Needs constantly to flow.
The beauty about energy is it is so subtle that once you become aware of it.
You can prevent anxiety or any other symptom to show up because you harmonize the energy way before you get a spiral of anxiety.
How do we recognize energy in the body?
The easiest way to recognize energy is by comparison.
For example,
You compare the left side to the right side.
You can do it now with me.
The left side is bigger compared to the right side which is smaller or the left side is more expanded or more contracted or more light or dark.
So compare qualities between the sides of your body.
This will teach your mind to recognize the subtlety of the energy.
Another way to recognize energy is using this image of a golden waterfall that flows down into your body from heaven.
And like washing all over you front,
Sides,
And back.
And a beautiful checkup for you is to ask yourself,
Is the waterfall flowing in harmony front,
Sides,
And back?
Or maybe it's a bit stuck in the front.
Or a bit stuck in the back,
Etc.
If you're noticing any blockage,
Just stay with it,
Exactly like we practice with anxiety symptoms.
It's a very subtle blockage,
But it's there.
Allow it to flow,
Allow it to open up,
Then bye-bye anxiety,
Forget about it.
Because when the energy flows,
Nothing can bother you.
Blessing on your practice.
If you have any questions,
Please feel free to get in touch.
And remember,
Next time you feel anxiety,
You're not anxiety,
You're observing it.
Create space,
Be with the symptoms,
And everything is perfect.
Blessing on your practice.
Thank you.
