EFT tapping works by combining acupressure with focused attention on emotions, which together help calm the body’s stress response. It involves tapping on specific meridian points—the same energy pathways used in acupuncture—to help restore energetic balance and reduce the intensity of negative feelings.

So how does tapping actually work?

It is believed that it works because it stimulates the nervous system and activates the vagus nerve,

Which gets us stimulated and then relaxed.

So by tapping on acupressure points while connecting to a difficult emotion,

And to the thought process that we have within that,

And locating it in our body,

It's believed that it helps the nervous system to release old patterns of ways of being.

That our body feels keeps us safe.

But in true actual fact is not keeping us safe.

So tapping sends a signal directly to the stress responses of the brain and helps to mediate that fight-flight response which we all experience.

Tapping has been around for a really long time.

But it's only recently that it's really started to get integrated into energy psychology.

And that there are amazing studies coming out that explain to us more and more why this works to help release difficult emotions within the body.
