Please join me for this mind connection meditation using a sky visualization. Our minds are often racing and we can get overwhelmed and overstimulated in trying to silence those thoughts. At times, it can be helpful to notice the thoughts with non-attachment rather than feeling bad that we can't stop our mind.

Welcome to this meditation to calm your thoughts.

I'd ask you to close your eyes and either sit comfortably or lie down.

And as you start to settle into the breath,

You feel your body begin to relax.

So feeling this relaxation begin at the top of your head,

Relaxing the muscles of the scalp and the forehead,

The temples and the eyes.

Bringing your breath and awareness to relaxing the jaw and the neck.

Feeling the beautiful sensation of relaxation spreading down your shoulders and your arms.

Feeling the heaviness in your arms as you settle into this space.

Relaxing down with the chest and the abdomen,

The pelvis,

The thighs,

The knees and the calves,

All the way to the soles of your feet.

And I want you to imagine a beautiful color over the top of your head.

And it's a beautiful soothing color.

And it just starts to pour down your body like a waterfall from the top of the head,

All the way down the body to the soles of the feet.

Just soothing and calming any racing thoughts,

Rumination or negativity.

And imagining this light swirling around your head,

Just collecting and gathering those thoughts,

Calming them down.

Letting them drop even further into the body.

And I want you to imagine these thoughts almost like clouds floating by in the sky.

And so you're walking through a beautiful field and you start to notice the clouds ahead of you.

And you decide to lay down in the grass of this field.

It's so soft and peaceful to lay in this place.

Just laying there,

Perfectly content,

Watching the clouds drift by.

And as you look at the clouds,

You realize they're like your thoughts.

And as a thought comes in,

You can let the thought just float by like a cloud.

Just noticing which thought clouds float by easily and which ones may block the sun for a period of time.

But they float by as well.

Just watching the shapes of the clouds,

The color of the clouds.

And you start to almost feel sleepy in this space,

Just watching the beautiful blue skies,

The clouds float by.

And you realize it also feels nice to close your eyes and feel the sun on your face.

And that you're still aware that the clouds float by overhead and then out into the distance.

They come in and they come out.

And you realize the pattern of your breath.

You're able to go with the flow,

Not getting any attachment to any thoughts,

Just recognizing them and letting them go.

They come in and they flow out as natural as the breath flowing in and flowing out.

You feel so peaceful and relaxed in this place that you realize it's also nice to have reprieve from the racing thoughts.

You might even feel a sense of pride at just watching them come in and watching them go out.

You feel like you could lay in this place and stare at the clouds,

Just allowing them to drift in and out all day.

You feel curiosity and perhaps even humor that the thoughts are similar,

That they come in and they come out.

Some are bigger,

Some are smaller.

And you realize you are in control of which ones we attach to or don't attach to.

We can always come back to the flow of the breath,

Flowing in and flowing out.

And if it feels comfortable to stay here and drift into a peaceful sleep,

Then I will leave you here.

And if not,

I ask you to sort of start to brush yourself off and stand up out of the grass and walk back to the space that you came from,

Becoming aware of the room around you,

Becoming aware again of that light at the top of your head.

And just begin again to pour that beautiful,

Healing,

Soothing,

Calming light down the body,

Washing away any residual thoughts that are stuck.

And start to wiggle your toes and fingers on each breath,

Becoming a little bit more aware of the room that you're sitting in.

Just waking yourself up,

Beginning to come back into this space,

Fluttering the eyes open.

And I thank you for our time together,

And we'll see you again.
