Guided Savasana For Deep Relaxation

A long, juicy, guided savasana to relax your entire body, starting with your toes. A great practice for releasing tension after working out or to prepare you for deep, rejuvenating sleep. Lie back and relax with this one! But be careful - you might just fall asleep.

Hey guys,

This is eCat and you are about to enjoy a sweet guided Shavasana.

This is a nice practice to do after a workout or at the end of a long day or before going to bed or before taking a nap or anytime you really just want to relax your body and relax your mind.

So to prepare,

Please find a comfortable reclined position and you can lay down on the carpet,

On a hardwood floor or it's fine for this one to actually lay down in your bed and get really comfortable putting blankets over yourself,

Getting lots of pillows set up,

Just wherever you want to be for a while you might end up falling asleep after this.

So just set up so that you're very comfortable and once you're ready,

Close your eyes.

It's nice to separate the feet at least hips distance apart.

Just place the hands wherever it's comfortable for you.

Traditional Shavasana,

The palms are up.

Arms at your sides with a little bit of space between your hands and the rest of your body.

Maybe take a few deep breaths just to kind of let go of anything you may be holding on to any thoughts,

Emotions from the day,

Any thoughts about the future.

Maybe take a few big sighs,

Just letting the breath go out the mouth.

Continue into natural breathing as you're ready.

Start to draw your awareness to your body itself.

Feel the sensations of the breath,

The belly rising and falling,

The rib cage expanding and then falling back.

Imagine the sensations of the breath,

The tip of the nostrils.

Notice where you're holding tension in your body.

You can imagine inviting the breath into those places.

Just kind of airing it out.

We'll begin a full body relaxation starting with the toes.

Bring your awareness to your toes on both feet.

Imagine your toes filling with warm white light.

Imagine that this warm white light brings with it relaxation so that all your toes release and relax.

Imagine this warm white light now spreading throughout your feet.

All the little bones in your feet,

All along them,

All the little muscles.

Feel this warm white light filling up your feet,

Relaxing them.

Allowing your feet to release into whatever's holding you up right now.

The floor,

Your bed.

Your feet are warm and glowing,

Completely relaxed.

Now imagine this warm white light moving up into your ankles,

Moving up along the shins and the calves.

Allowing your lower legs to release and relax.

All the tension melts away.

Your lower legs sink into whatever's holding you up.

The warm white light moves up around your knees.

Allowing the knees to release and relax.

Your knees,

Which may have done a lot of work today,

Completely releasing into whatever's holding you up,

Sinking back,

Tension melts away.

Now imagine that the warm white light moves up to your upper legs,

Filling everything up,

All those strong muscles up there.

Your inner thighs releasing and relaxing.

The fronts of your thighs,

Your quads,

Releasing and relaxing with this warm white light glowing and pulsing there.

Your outer thighs release and relax.

And then the backs of your thighs,

Your hamstrings,

Releasing and relaxing.

All the tension melts away.

Now your entire legs are completely full of warm white light.

No more tension.

Now the warm white light moves into your glutes,

Your hips.

Everything starts to release and relax there.

And then melts away.

And the warm white light moves up to your lower back.

Any tension you may have been feeling there just releases now.

The light warms you,

Relaxes you,

Allows you to let go of your lower back.

And it wraps around front to your belly.

Any tension or anxiety you may have been holding in your belly now melts away with the warm white light.

And your belly can release and relax.

The warm white light glows into your mid back.

And the tension there releases,

Melts away into whatever is supporting you.

This warm white light continues moving up your back to the upper back and all the muscles around your shoulder blades.

Any tension you may have been holding there completely melts away.

With the warm white light,

Your entire back is relaxed.

And the warm white light spreading up over your shoulders,

Across your chest,

Continuing to relax your body.

Now the front and back of your heart,

Everything is completely relaxed.

Any tension you may have been holding in your chest or shoulders just melts away here.

Now your feet,

Your legs,

Your hips,

Your entire torso,

Front and back pulsating with this healing warm white light,

This energy.

And your body just rests completely relaxed.

The warm white light travels down into your upper arms.

Your upper arms glowing,

Completely release and relax.

And the warm white light moves through your elbows into your forearms,

Releasing and relaxing you.

Any tension you may have been holding in your arms,

Upper or lower,

Just melts into whatever is supporting you.

And the warm white light fills up the area around your wrists,

Moving into your palms,

Just melting the tension away there in the backs of your hands.

Release and relax.

And now your fingers fill up with the warm white light.

You might feel a little glowing,

Some tingling perhaps in the body as your hands relax,

As you melt into whatever is supporting you.

Coming back to your shoulders,

Imagine the warm white light moves up through your neck,

The front of your neck,

The sides,

The back.

Filling up with warm white light as your neck releases and relaxes.

And all the tension melts away.

Now imagine your entire head fills up with this warm white light.

Your face,

All the little muscles in your face release and relax.

Your jaw goes slack.

All the little muscles in your chin release and relax.

All the little muscles around your eyes release and relax and the tension melts away.

Any tension you may have been holding in your forehead just melts away with the warm white light.

You may imagine the skull sinking back in the back of the head,

Your entire body now glowing with warm white light.

You are completely relaxed.

You may notice the prana pulsating throughout your glowing being.

Your body is relaxed,

Restored,

Rejuvenated.
