New Moon Yoga Nidra
by Nina Chin
This practice includes a full body scan which is like a massage for the central nervous system. This meditation can be practiced before/during or after a New Moon or any other time. It really sets the intention of planting a seed to manifest your highest potential. Yoga Nidra is a form of meditation that helps with insomnia, anxiety, stress, adrenal fatigue, ptsd and so much more. This scan takes you through the whole body, systematically relaxing every part of your being.

Welcome to your New Moon Yoga Nidra meditation.
My name is Nina and I'm the founder of Starseed Yoga.
Starseed meditations for mindfulness and activation.
Take the first couple of moments to find a comfortable position.
And for yoga nidra it is recommended to find corpse pose or shavasana,
Meaning lying down on your back.
And this can be either on the floor,
On a yoga mat,
Your bed,
Maybe getting a blanket,
Snuggling under your blanket.
If you have an eye pillow or maybe even using headphones or a Bluetooth eye mask,
The experience will be a lot more intimate.
So in case you need to grab your props,
Just pause this meditation for now.
And then whenever you're ready,
Fully settle into your position.
Letting go of any expectations,
Anticipations and just meeting yourself exactly as you are right now.
Becoming all emotions,
Feelings,
Thoughts without any judgment.
Maybe trying to turn any judgment into curiosity.
And palms facing upwards,
The fingers are naturally curling in.
Rest your awareness at your heart center.
Melting deeper within.
Melting below the outside world.
Melting below all of the senses.
Noticing the natural rhythm of your breath,
The in-breath,
The out-breath.
Smelling your body with oxygen,
Noticing any sensations.
And then with your eyes closed,
Exploring the room or the space that you're in.
Seeing any distant sounds or any sounds inside of your room.
Invite your body to be completely relaxed.
Allow your awareness to travel through your body now on a journey of sensation.
Simply feel each part as it is mentioned without moving.
Being alert and aware but yet fully relaxed.
The practice of yoga nidra begins now.
Begin to draw each inhale from the tips of your toes all the way up to your crown.
And then on the out-breath reversing the flow of prana from the crown of your head all the way down to the tips of your toes.
Inhale draw the air up and exhale reverse the flow.
Begin to visualize yourself in a space or your happy place and this can be anywhere.
Maybe it's a particular place that you'd like to visit.
Begin to feel the air,
The space around you in your body.
What does it feel like?
How does it make you feel to be here?
On a new moon we plant seeds,
Intentions and similar to like we do in the yoga nidra practice with arasankalpa,
Our positive resolve.
So in your happy place and begin to look at your hands and then open up your hands and what you see are seeds ready to be planted anywhere in your happy place.
Each seed represents one of your intentions,
Your heart's deepest desires.
Find a place in your happy place where you can plant the seeds in the fertile soil.
Planting the intentions,
Anchoring them into the ground of the earth.
Feel them to grow,
Nourish and then be harvested at the next moon cycle.
Bring your awareness back to your heart center and then begin to plant each seed one by one.
As you plant each seed,
Not only visualize it but feel it in your heart space.
Feel the emotion of how you were to feel if this was already your reality.
Take the next couple of moments to mindfully and lovingly plant each seed knowing that the moment you plant them,
Things are already out there in the quantum to manifest for your highest good.
Trust that everything you're seeking is seeking you in return.
Trust that everything you're seeking is meant to be seeked by you.
And you've planted the seeds,
Give thanks and so it is.
Allow your awareness to travel through your body now on a journey of sensation.
Really feel each part as it is mentioned without moving,
Remain still and welcome all sensation just as it is.

Pour your awareness like liquid into the right side of your body.
Feel the right side.
And then pour your awareness into your left side.

Feel all sensations inside of your body with vibration.
Bring your awareness back to your breath once more.
Exhale breath as it flows in and out through you,
As it flows in and out through your body,
Through your vessel in this human manifestation.
Feel the in breath,
Note the out breath.
As you exhale,
Imagine a wave passing downward through your body,
Carrying away tension through your body.
Carrying away all limiting belief.
As you inhale,
A fresh wave flows upward through your body,
Bringing you a sense of calm and reassurance that everything you've planted as a seed will come into fruition.

Notice the front body facing skyward,
Observing all of the space around you.
Allow the body to expand wider into the space that surrounds you.
Notice your breath.
Feel its rhythm and pace.
And begin counting down from 10 to 0 on each out breath.
Start to count down.
So inhaling,
Exhaling 10.
Inhaling exhaling 9.
And just start at 10,
Counting down all the way to 0.
And if you get lost,
Just start at 10 again.
Rest Laird.
And once more bring your attention,
Bring your focus to your heart center.
Bringing in and out through your heart center.
Bringing to mind the seeds that you've planted at the beginning of the practice.
Repeat your intentions three times now.
Notice your breath and feel its rhythm and pace.
We're now completing our New Moon Yoga Nitra practice.
Beginning to deepen your inhales and exhales,
Breathing life into your physical body.
Before we bring any physical movement into your hands,
Can you visualize your hands moving?
And then begin to move them.
Before wiggling the toes or moving the feet and ankles,
Can you visualize movement?
What does it feel like?
And then eventually starting to move your body,
Moving in any way.
Place your non-dominant hand over your heart center and the other hand onto the ground.
Feeling the connection between your astral bridge,
Your heart center and the earth.
Feeling the connection to all there is,
To the space,
To yourself.
And thank you so much for letting me be your guide through this New Moon Yoga Nitra.
I hope you have a beautiful New Moon and a beautiful rest of the day.
Namaste.
