Namaste and welcome.
Welcome to today's meditation where we are planting the seed of stillness.
Take a few moments to find your way into a comfortable seated position.
Whatever works for your body.
Sit tall,
Be warm,
And when you're ready,
Slowly close the eyes as you exhale,
Signaling to the body that we are ready to do the work.
Bringing all of your attention inward,
Slowly connecting to breath.
Finding that breath wherever it happens to be,
Following it as it moves in and out.
Without getting involved,
Just simply watch the breath.
Feel the body breathing.
Now give yourself permission to do absolutely nothing.
Give yourself full permission to embrace this moment of stillness.
In this moment,
There is nothing at all that needs to be done other than staying here,
Relatively still,
Watching the breath.
As you watch the breath with an easy,
Relaxed,
Spacious mind,
Place some small amounts of attention on what else the mind or the body is feeling.
Notice your own discomfort in simply being present with what is.
Do nothing,
Just notice.
Do not judge,
Do not analyze.
And notice if the mind would rather run off towards the future,
A to-do list,
Planning,
Or perhaps the mind would rather busy itself with reviewing the past,
Thinking.
Each time you notice,
Simply acknowledge the pull of movement,
Of distraction,
And then with so much loving patience,
Give your mind permission to rest.
With each breath,
The mind begins to settle.
With each breath,
The mind becomes more calm,
Still,
Peaceful.
Continue to breathe,
To witness,
To allow whatever is present to be there,
To be held and supported,
Loved and cared for.
Continue to feel into breath and body.
And as you let the mind rest back even more,
Allow for the mind to feel spacious,
Open,
And at ease.
Allow the mind to drop into joy,
The bliss of no longer needing to do,
The bliss of simply being.
This non-doing includes no longer fighting against the movement of the mind,
No longer judging,
Critiquing,
Or analyzing of the rising thoughts.
The power to simply watch,
To become that silent witness as we continue to rest in stillness,
Being,
Being in the moment,
Watching,
Chase nothing.
And as distractions continue to rise,
And they will,
Remember there is nothing to do.
Simply breathe,
Notice,
Notice,
Accept,
And love.
As we continue to breathe and sit,
Allowing this moment of stillness to fill the entire body.
And in this spaciousness of presence with the body and the breath,
Feel into the preciousness of this sacred moment.
This relative quiet,
Recognize its beauty,
The freedom in resting back,
In slowing down,
Feel the power of stillness wash over you,
Bringing you back to balance,
Back into wholeness and alignment with your truth.
Feel free to stay right here for as long as you have to give.
There's nowhere to go,
There's nowhere to go,
Nothing to do,
Nothing more sacred or more worthy than this moment,
Watching,
Allowing,
Being present,
Being still.
