I'm Anne-Marie,
The host of Rapid Realization Podcast,
And this talk today is going to be on the higher self.
And some of you out there may already know what the higher self is,
Or you're already working on it with yourself,
Connecting to this higher self aspect of you.
But I want to kind of approach this by discussing it to someone as if they did not know what higher self is,
And maybe you'll learn something more about it from my perspective.
Because again,
This is just my perspective based on how I have healed and how I've helped others.
And higher self is in everybody.
Everybody has this higher self component,
But we can be disconnected from it.
We can deny or reject it.
And it's kind of like if you ever had any intuition or gut sense about something,
Or if you just felt like you were being guided by a part of you,
Or if you're at a dinner party and you say something so profoundly wise and insightful,
And who knows if you can repeat it.
But it's just very wise part of you that may come very easily,
Like a flow,
I'll say.
Maybe it's hard to consciously bring this part forward,
But when we do have that wise aspect,
It comes almost effortlessly.
It's like this flow state.
Because for me,
Higher self is very much connected with our spirit self.
I want to bring in multiple words,
Because some people may not even like that word,
Spirit self,
But it is that collective part of us that is connected to something more.
It is this inner being of who we are,
Though,
That just knows a lot more than we may in this physical being.
Let me try to explain this a bit better.
We all have different ego aspects,
And those are created,
And they identify with self.
Ego is identification of self,
But we all have a soul identity,
Or spirit identity,
Or this deeper essence of who we are.
Our characteristics and who we are,
No matter what we have gone through,
Or maybe different homes we lived in,
Or places we've been,
There's these deeper characteristics about us that never change.
That is our soul characteristics,
If I can say that word.
It's our soul characteristics.
For me,
That is our true essence,
Which is our higher self.
Because I do believe very strongly,
As a hypnotherapist,
That this incarnation of us in this present life is not our only ones.
We have been in multiple life experiences and times,
And that means that our spirit,
Our consciousness,
Who we are,
Is far more vast than just this physical body.
We do hold in other egos that are created from this experience that are maybe not truly ours,
But just egos that we thought is who we are.
An ego is basically just an identity of self.
It's a way that we can identify self.
Those may be some things that we've taken in from society,
From parents,
From authority figures,
From older siblings,
Or friends,
Or whatever it may be.
This higher self concept is the highest version of you.
It is your true self.
Some people will say connecting with the higher self is a transcendence to your divinity.
Constraints to that ultimate consciousness of self.
I like to introduce people to this when they start working on their life,
Like mastery,
When they're really starting to ask,
What is my purpose?
Why am I here?
What am I meant to do?
Because that part of us really knows what it is you're here for.
Because it's such a higher aspect of you that it's trying to guide you in your life purpose,
Because it is part of you.
One of the things that I believe in very much for my studies in hypnotherapy is there's this modality called life between lives hypnosis.
For those that don't know about hypnosis or hypnotherapy,
There's a lot of different subsets of hypnotherapy and different people practice different ways.
I primarily focus on present life and making sure that we're addressing whatever it is that's maybe getting in the way of you living your ultimate life presently,
Because I believe that we did choose this life to have certain experiences and learn certain things from it.
Other hypnotherapists may practice past lives,
Where they basically have someone go back into a past life to be able to understand a bit more as to why maybe they chose this life or maybe there's some belief of karmic effects in this life from a past life.
And then there's also this other type,
Which is called the life between lives hypnosis,
Which I've studied quite a bit by reading one of the pioneers in the field.
His name is Michael Newton,
And he had written multiple books on this subject called Journey of Souls.
He created a book.
He has an institute that trains hypnotherapists or therapists on learning this different type of modality.
And some of his other books,
I'll put in the show notes below if you're interested in this,
But I just want to kind of explain what it is,
Because after going through these experiences,
For me personally,
I definitely undoubtedly became much more connected with my higher self in understanding why I'm here.
And it is the experience that allows you to believe.
And for me,
That life between lives session,
I was able to connect with my higher self,
With my soul identity.
And when you study this stuff,
You'll see that our experience here in this world is just a fragment of us.
It's not all of who we are.
And I know that for those out there that you may be like,
Oh,
Well,
This is all I know.
This is what you're experiencing.
Of course,
This is all you know,
Because this is all you can perceive,
Because this is all you're experiencing.
But there is more experiences beyond this experience.
So just to kind of carry on and explain this book a bit more of Michael Newton,
He explained how we are a fragment of our true self.
And he'll even put a number there of like,
It's between like 20 to 40%,
I believe,
Of a portion of who we are.
And depending on that fragment,
The rest of us is having other experiences.
Of course,
We don't remember all those experiences,
Because we're just a fragment of our totality of us.
And we are here in order to learn and grow.
And when people go through past lives experiences or have had near death experiences,
It's really fascinating to be able to research and see that when they shift over to this life between lives or fully go through this death experience,
It's like a full remembering of who they truly are.
And so that hypnotic experience of me going through life between lives was me fully remembering who I was beyond this physical form.
So that's why some people like to have these experiences.
And for those that are listening to this and maybe even skeptical about it,
Which is completely wonderful and great,
I do think that there needs to be a skepticism to assure that you're following something that feels right for you.
It's interesting to look at all this collectively.
And even in these books written by this Dr.
Michael Newton,
He collectively put all these cases together and just reported what the trends were that he had well over 100 people having the same exact experience.
And they've done this on people that have had near death experiences that they all have the same type of experience.
So then there must be something to that,
Right?
For me personally,
I believe that.
So going back to the higher self and its relation to this present life,
I want to tell you that you can connect with this absolutely in this present life.
You don't need to go through these deep or alternative hypnotherapy sessions to be able to connect with it.
If you want to have that experience,
Then I wouldn't.
I would definitely encourage it.
Or you can connect with this part of you,
This part,
Because it is you,
Anytime you wish.
And meditation or getting into a trance and altered states of consciousness is a way of connecting to this part.
Sometimes it will come through without you consciously trying.
And what I like to do when I do introduce people is I bring them into a meditation to start to visualize the highest version that they see themselves as,
Whatever that will look like.
For me,
When I first started doing this,
I would imagine myself and how I imagine myself in my future to look like.
And now I understand why I started doing that.
It was because I wanted to make sure that there was this solidification of recognizing that it is part of me and that it is me.
And so at one point,
As I was doing this meditation of visiting and seeing my higher self,
It started to shift.
The image started to shift as I continued to grow and heal myself.
And at first it was an image of me,
Maybe more toned,
Maybe standing up more straight.
You know,
Wearing nicer dresses,
Who knows?
It was,
You know,
Maybe had these specific details of how I wanted to be,
But it slowly shifted to more of an image of just light and just love.
And its image kind of transcended to a different form just because I started recognizing that,
You know,
I am more than this human form.
And you know,
That process is just my experience.
But what I encourage my clients to do is start to envision their higher self and what that looks like,
Which is the ultimate image that you would have of yourself.
And you know,
I've worked with clients before that they maybe have already done some training on higher self and their higher self comes through very differently than them,
May come through as like a different image of a,
Maybe I had one client that did this meditation and they imagined their higher self coming as this very wise looking like Sifu or monk and he had like this long white beard and you know,
White mustache,
Kind of like the ones from those old Asian movies.
But you know,
It was just this wise part of him.
And that's how he was trained when he was younger to be able to visualize this higher self.
But you know,
He very much recognized that it was part of him,
That it was him.
And so higher self can come through however you would like to visualize it.
But I do want to emphasize that it's,
It's you,
It is,
It is your ultimate version of who you are and what you're meant to be.
And so I'm going to pop in a meditation that I created for my clients and it's free for you to have access to,
You can get that in the show notes to help you visit your higher self if you have not yet already done so.
And imagine,
You know,
When you go through that process,
Really based on all the guidance you have gotten this far,
What that ultimate self would look like,
So that you can start to build a relationship with this part and see how it even comes through.
You know,
For me,
This part of this wise part of me just came through very differently than all my other ego aspects.
And there are moments where I even would trick myself in a sense of,
You know,
So what I'll do is I'll go into a meditation and I'll connect with my,
You know,
If I have like something I need to work on,
I'll connect with my higher self and ask it questions.
I'll just ask questions.
And it's funny how it replies.
It's very,
It tends to be very,
You know,
Not a hundred percent direct.
It's a bit gentle and also more kind.
It is not judgmental.
That's one of the biggest things.
If that voice that's coming through is very judgmental,
Very critical of self and others,
Then it's likely not your higher self that's coming through because higher self is a benevolent aspect of you that is much more gentle and kind.
So it doesn't need to judge others or judge itself.
And so it will not use others or use comparison in order to maybe put others or put yourself down.
So it does not have this way of making others lesser,
Greater than.
And so it's not judgmental.
It's not critical of self.
It's much more kind,
Just like a very loving parent.
That's the only way I can explain it.
And it doesn't force itself to come through.
So it is gentle.
So for me,
That's why it was a bit of a challenge to be able to connect with this higher self because I had so many other parts of me that were needing help first to kind of clear the way,
To clear the path.
So then I can connect more with this higher being,
This higher self,
Which was part of me.
So definitely go check out that meditation if you have not done so already.
