In this session,
I'll guide you through a breath awareness and a visualisation meditation.
Just taking up a position where you feel most comfortable for this meditation,
Either seated or lying down,
Both are appropriate.
Go with what feels right for you.
Resting your feet on the ground,
Resting your hands in your lap or by your side,
Gently closing your eyes now,
And bringing your attention to the breath,
Observing the inhale and the exhale,
Without changing the breath in any way.
Just observe this natural and automatic process.
As you continue to breathe at a rate that suits you,
Just notice if you can hear any sounds outside the room where you're seated.
What about inside the room,
Do you notice any sounds within the room where you're seated?
Do you notice the sensation of your clothing resting on your skin?
Do you notice any flavours or tastes that might be lingering in your mouth?
What can you see right now,
In this moment,
Behind your closed eyes,
Behind your eyelids,
And in between your eyebrows?
Start to envision a purple glowing light around the third eye space.
The third eye space is in the centre of the head,
In line with the space between your eyebrows.
See this light filling your entire bodily vessel.
This is the light of your inner wisdom,
Your intuition,
And your connectedness with the universe.
On your next inhale,
Grow this light to surround your entire head,
And breathe out,
Allowing this light to expand and occupy the space around your entire body.
Continue to breathe in and out with this purple light in and all around you for several breaths.
As you continue to breathe,
Your wisdom grows,
Your connection to yourself and to all of those around you increases.
You feel your judgement of others diminishing,
Replaced by love and understanding.
Through this purple light,
You feel your sense of intuition becoming stronger.
Your ability to seek and find truth grows with the balancing of this energy centre.
Now as you sit in this light,
Start to silently invoke the mantra OM,
Just repeating it quietly to yourself or in your mind,
Whatever you feel most comfortable with.
The resonance of the mantra OM is the chant for the third eye chakra.
The purple light still surrounds you.
All of the areas in and around the forehead are infused with this beautiful light.
Drop the chant and continue to bask in this light,
Slowly noticing the purple light beginning to fade now.
Bringing your attention to the feeling of your body lying on the mat or the floor,
Listening out for any sounds you can hear in the distance.
Noticing any fragrances or smells in the air.
Noticing the texture of your tongue against the roof of your mouth.
If you feel ready,
Bringing a gentle jiggle and a shake to the body,
To your hands and your arms,
To your feet and your legs.
Slowly rotate the neck.
When you feel ready,
Slowly opening your eyes.
This meditation is now complete.
May you carry this heightened sense of wisdom and intuition into your day,
Into your next activities.
