How to find that quiet stillness within you.
We all have our own place and essence of quiet,
Stillness and calm.
We just have to find it.
So let's find it.
You may have to do this a few times,
But a lot of people get it the first time.
You'll find a place where you can sit still,
Where it's quiet,
And close your eyes.
Close your eyes and just breathe normally,
But I want you to observe your breath.
Just observe it.
That's it.
Are you breathing in and out of your nose,
In and out of your mouth,
A little bit of both,
Automatically,
Your breath will slow down and will become deeper.
I want you to feel your body,
Whether you're sitting down or laying down.
I want you to feel your body up against what you are sitting or lying down on.
If you are sitting,
Feel what your feet are standing on,
Are stepping on,
And just scan your body.
Just feel your body,
The entire body,
Your toes,
Your feet,
Your heels,
Your calves,
Your thighs,
Your hips,
Your buttocks,
Your torso,
Your stomach,
Your back,
Your hands,
Your arms,
Your shoulders,
Your neck,
Your face,
Your ears,
And your head.
Now let's scan backwards,
And I want you to feel where it is most still,
The part of your body that you really didn't even think about or ponder on until I mentioned it.
What part of your body feels most still?
Is it the top of your head,
Your cranial area,
Your hair,
Your ears?
I want you to feel your cheeks,
Your nose,
Your mouth,
Your chin,
Your neck,
Your shoulders,
The parts of your shoulders that bend down into the arms,
Your forearms,
Your fingers,
Your fingernails,
Your thumbs,
If you can,
Your torso,
Your ribcage,
Your lower back,
Your belly button,
Your pelvic area,
Tailbone,
Your hips,
Your thighs,
Your kneecaps,
The back of your knees,
Your calves,
Your shins,
Your ankles,
Your feet,
The bottom of your feet,
Your baby toe,
Your big toe.
Okay,
Now think which part of your body seemed most still,
Quiet,
Elusive,
Almost invisible.
Oh,
You got it now?
Okay,
Good.
Now just sit with that stillness,
That nothingness,
Quiet,
Spacious.
Let's just sit with that for a while.
Don't think about that part of your body right now.
Just feel the stillness and the emptiness.
No more label.
It's not your baby toe.
It's not your heel.
Let's just sit with the quiet solitude and emptiness and breathe.
Now I want you to think about the area of that part of your body,
And I want you to imagine or just acknowledge the space around it,
The air.
If you're sitting down,
Whatever space is around it,
Imagine that space around it,
That empty space and air,
That nothingness around it,
Its environment,
Its atmosphere,
Its energy field.
Let's sit with that and allow it to spread out like an ethereal blanket around you,
Your entire body.
Let's sit with that energy.
Now I want you to imagine that this energy field,
This blanket of magnetic field that's around you of stillness and quiet is a part of the entire atmosphere and environment that you're in your room.
In your room or if you're outside,
It becomes one with the outer environment and atmosphere,
But it also becomes one with you.
You can barely draw a line between the energy and the physical body of you.
It is all one,
Calm,
Gentle,
Serene,
Silent,
Passive,
Intuitive energy.
Namaste.
