Namaste,
My name is Heedle and I invite you to set everything else aside for a few moments.
Today we are exploring the practice of being in the now,
A journey inspired by the wisdom of Ram Dass.
Let's leave everything behind and settle into the stillness of the present moment,
Learning to simply be.
Take a few moments to settle down and find a position where you can naturally flow into the stillness.
Allow your body to arrive exactly as it is,
Letting go of any tension as you prepare to relax and breathe.
Baba Ram Dass often shared that we are all just walking each other home and that home is found nowhere else but the present moment.
We often spend our lives leaning into the future or pulling from the past,
But the soul only breathes in the now.
Close your eyes and bring your awareness to your breath.
Don't try to change it,
Just notice it.
This breath is happening right now.
It cannot happen yesterday,
It cannot happen tomorrow,
It is your anchor.
Imagine you are standing in a river,
The water flowing past your ankles is the moment passing by.
You don't need to grab the water to experience the river.
You simply need to stand still and feel it.
In the same way,
Thoughts may float by like leaves on that water,
Plans for later or memories of this morning.
Acknowledge them and let them float away and return to the sensation of the water.
Being now means accepting yourself exactly as you are in this moment,
In this second.
You don't need to be better to be present.
You don't need to be perfect to be here.
You are already here.
Feel the weight of your body,
The air on your skin and the quiet space between your thoughts.
In this space,
There is no judgment,
Only existence.
You are not your roles or your tasks.
You are the awareness watching it all unfold.
Rest in that awareness.
Just be.
May you carry the stillness with you as you move through your day,
Remembering that the present is always waiting for you to return.
May your heart remain calm,
Open and soulful.
Namaste.
