Namaste everybody.
My name is Heeral and I invite you to set everything else aside for a few moments as we settle into the stillness of this practice together.
Today we connect with the one constant companion that has been with you since your very first moment.
Our practice today is about recognizing your breath as your best friend.
In a world that is always changing,
Your breath is the only steady,
Loyal presence that never leaves your side,
Offering you support exactly when you need it the most.
Allow your body to naturally relax,
Whether you are sitting or lying down,
Let yourself to relax completely.
Let your hands relax,
Let your eyes close,
Let your breath soften.
There is no effort needed here.
As you sit or lie here in the quiet,
Bring your awareness to the gentle rise and fall of your chest.
The rhythm is the sound of a lifelong friendship.
Think about how many times you have been stressed,
Hurried,
Overwhelmed and yet your breath never stopped showing up for you.
Like a best friend,
It doesn't judge you for being anxious.
It simply waits for you to return to it.
It is the only companion that asks for nothing and gives you everything.
Visualize each inhale as a hand reaching out to support you and exhale as a soft place to land.
When you feel lonely,
Your breath is there.
When you feel excited,
Your breath is there.
It is the quietest,
Most faithful witness to your life.
Take a moment to truly feel the texture of this friendship.
Notice how the air cools the back of your throat and how it warms as it leaves.
There is a beautiful intimacy in this connection.
You are never truly alone because this life force is always flowing through you,
Anchoring you to the present moment.
If your mind begins to wander or if the world feels heavy,
Lean into your breath.
Don't try to control it,
Just trust it.
Let it carry the weight for a while.
Let your breath remind you that you are safe,
You are held and you are alive.
Rest in this companionship,
Knowing that as long as you have your breath,
You have a home within yourself.
Carry this stillness with you as you move back into your world,
Knowing that the peace you seek is already within you.
May you always be your own kindest friend.
Namaste.
