Hello,

My name is Hilary Lafon and I'm so grateful that you've joined me today to explore taking a chance.

So many of us live on autopilot and the comfortability of the same day over and over,

The same job,

The same relationships,

The same food,

The same habits.

It is all so comforting.

But does it allow us to grow?

Today I encourage you to take a chance.

Take a chance on one thing,

Something.

We all know what that one chance is.

We all know what we want to do different,

How we want to grow,

How we want to be our best self.

And if we don't know,

Let's do a little practice right now.

Wherever you are,

Sit upright in your chair.

If you're walking around or lying down,

Just make sure that you're safe and comfortable.

And if you can close your eyes,

Start to breathe deeply.

Feeling with each breath,

Your body relax and soften.

Your thoughts start to fade.

As we focus on our breath and our body sensations,

We tune out the chatter and the noise in our mind.

Come home to yourself,

To your body.

Breathe and soften.

Have your exhale be slightly longer than the inhale,

Just to remind our body that we're safe and it's time to relax.

Notice if you're clenching your jaw,

Grinding your teeth.

Relax your face.

Tell your eyeballs to soften all the way down the optic nerve.

Allow your spine to soften,

Relaxing all the muscles in the neck,

Shoulders and back.

Allow your belly to hang loose,

Releasing the muscles in your thighs,

Hamstrings.

Allow your hands to unclench and your toes to unfurl.

Feel your body be soft.

And as you breathe deeply and slowly,

Ask your heart,

What is it I need?

Where can I take a chance?

How long have you been at the job?

How long have you been in an unhealthy relationship?

What behaviors are unhealthy that you want to take a chance to make different?

Allow this one thing to bubble up to the surface,

Feel it in your heart.

Allow this exercise to plant the seed for change.

What do you have to lose?

If you make a change and strive to be your best self,

What do you have to lose?

Feel free to think of the worst case scenario.

If you quit your job,

You won't have a job.

But if you quit your job to free up some space so you can find the job that is truly inspiring and speaks to your soul,

What do you have to lose?

Maybe you need to keep the job while you look for another job.

But maybe that means spending 10 to 15 minutes a day pursuing something new.

Get small,

Bite-sized,

Achievable goals so that you can slowly work your way into taking a chance.

I believe in you.

I know you can do it.

Quit your heart,

Speak its truth,

And if fear comes up,

Push it aside.

Stand up to it.

Face it.

This is your one life.

Live it.

Love it.

Be your best self.

If you haven't already,

Open your eyes,

Put a smile on your face.

Think in your mind,

I can do anything I set my mind to.

I am fearless.

I deserve a great life.

Thank you so much for letting us explore taking a chance.

You never know what could happen.

And if you do take a chance,

I would love you to leave a comment.

Let me know.

If there's anything I can do to support you,

Please don't hesitate to reach out.

Thank you so much for allowing me the precious gift of your time.

Until next time,

Take a chance and be well.

Spending 10 to 15 minutes a day working toward a desire or goal, is great advice. It's amazing how far you can come in a couple week's time with a small commitment of daily time. Look at what our Insight community achieves with daily meditation. Just exploring what's out there can lead you to opportunities.
