Settling in your chair,
It's a short meditation to land in yourself,
To come home to yourself.
So just get ready by letting go of anything you're doing,
Like eating or checking the phone.
Just sit down comfortably.
And maybe you want to close your eyes.
And notice your breath moving in and out of your body.
And then sense the weight of your body on the ground,
On the chair,
On the sofa.
The weight.
And then give yourself permission to relax for a moment,
Taking a little holiday from doing.
Right now,
No doing necessary.
A little holiday from effort,
From doing,
From thinking ahead or thinking in the past.
Just sitting here,
Doing nothing for a moment.
Sensing the weight of the body.
Sensing the breath moving in and out,
Maybe relaxing the belly.
Ah,
And also noticing,
Is the face relaxed,
Are the jaws relaxed?
Maybe making a few grimaces with the face.
Noticing the jaws,
Loosening up the facial muscles.
Also moving the neck a little bit.
No need to be stiff.
And then noticing also that this body is sitting inside of a room or inside of,
In a special space.
Noticing the space around the body and then bringing awareness to the fact that this space is actually infinite.
Body is located within an infinite space.
As big as the house,
As the country,
As the planet,
As the solar system,
As the galaxy Milky Way.
It's the whole cosmos.
A grounded breathing body in infinite space.
Here I am,
I am,
With nothing to do right now.
And in the stillness,
Notice if the mind is active with thoughts,
And then just allowing thoughts also,
Not trying to get rid of any thoughts.
But remembering I am not my thoughts only.
I am aware of thoughts.
I can rest now in this body,
Sensing the body.
Firmly on the ground in infinite space.
And if there are certain tensions in the body,
Some area of the body where there is tension,
Bring some friendly awareness,
Embracing the tension,
Like a warm blanket of friendliness or a loving touch.
Letting awareness hold the tension with love,
With friendliness,
Without trying to make it go away.
Embracing.
And even maybe saying a little hello to the tension.
Hello,
I'm here.
I've got your back,
I've got you,
I'm here for you.
And then letting the body move a little bit,
The neck,
The back,
Like a snake.
Noticing this is an alive body,
Warm body,
Incredible body.
Moving the neck.
Stretching a little bit,
Opening the eyes if they're not open,
And just look and look at something comfortable,
Some color you like,
Some shape.
Take in the surroundings.
And moving on with your day,
Remember this possibility of always having the opportunity to take a little holiday from doing,
From effort.
