Welcome to this reading of hexagram number 10 of the I Ching,

Known as Stepping or Treading.

The theme is Careful Conduct,

Balance and Cautious Progress.

To tread lightly is to move with awareness,

To respect the ground beneath your feet and the path ahead.

Hexagram 10 of Treading speaks to the art of careful conduct,

Balancing courage with caution,

Moving forward without haste or stumbling.

In the imagery,

We see in the upper triagram the elements of heaven and in the lower triagram the elements of the marsh.

And here is a serene surface concealing depth.

So through this image,

We receive the teaching of respect for boundaries and walk carefully with mindfulness and grace.

This image also shows joy below strength and indicates there will be a fortunate ending to a period of danger.

The I Ching says,

Learn to work harmoniously with others despite disparities in status and achieve success together.

Let there be mutual respect.

This hexagram is about harmony between the small and the great.

When you achieve good relationships with those above and below you,

Then you ensure that anything is within your grasp.

From these messages,

We are reminded that life's path is delicate.

Each step,

Each word holds consequence.

Hexagram 10 teaches us to be conscious of how we act,

How we speak,

Even how we think.

To honor relationships,

To honor limits of ourselves and others.

For true power arises from balance,

From knowing when to move and when to wait.

If you have been drawn to this hexagram,

Reflect quietly now where it will benefit you to walk carefully.

And ask of yourself,

How can I balance boldness and prudence?

And where will it be of benefit for me to practice patience and respect and to trade in harmony with the world around me?

Allow the first responses to come through and trust this wisdom that is part of your innate design.

Knowing that these readings are a participatory experience and not everything might ring true for you today.

Take what resonates and work with that.

Now in closing for this hexagram 10,

Picture a bird landing on fragile branches.

It requires delicate yet sure-footed steps.

Or a picture of footprints tracing a path in fresh snow,

Leaving marks yet careful not to disturb.

Spiritually,

This hexagram number 10 of stepping or treading invites reverence for the present moment.

Walking the path with awareness.

For in treading well,

We find grace and certainty.

Grace and certainty! Yes! Thanks, Helen. I also liked the idea you gave today in your live about keeping a separate journal for the I-Ching. I think I may do just that!🥰
