This guided meditation is a practice in breathing and allowing what is. During our practice, I'd like to invite you to remember. Remember that just like each breath enters and exits the body, so do the moments throughout the day. We can allow them to come in just as they are, be experienced, and then let them go. And so today, we are going to incorporate this into our practice. Allowing the breaths to come and go, just like the moments throughout the day.

Transcript

Wherever you are in this moment,

Find a position that you can rest in for the next few minutes.

Rest as you need and let your body settle as much as possible.

Beginning to notice your breath.

Continuing to adjust the body if necessary and seeing if there's a place of stillness waiting to be experienced.

If it's comfortable for you,

You may close your eyes or soften your gaze.

We're going to allow the natural rhythm of this moment to guide us.

For the next several breaths,

Allowing what is,

Not trying to control or manipulate or restrict the breath or the mind,

We will invite a curiosity,

An invitation to observe,

Notice,

And allow.

Seeing how as the breath enters the body,

There is a natural movement or expansion.

And on the exhale,

A natural letting go release and contraction.

Seeing the sensation as the air passes through your lips or your nostrils.

Seeing the quality of the breath as it exits the body.

Seeing what is arising in this moment and allowing it to be there as a practice of acceptance.

This realization of this moment being temporary.

If the mind has thoughts or begins to wander,

That's okay.

We're not trying to stop anything or restrict anything.

Simple recognition of,

Oh yes,

That was thinking.

Bringing back to the sensation of your breath.

This is an invitation to remember that just like each breath comes into the body and then exits the body,

So do the moments throughout the day.

They come in and we experience them and then they pass and we let them go.

And whatever joy we may feel will pass.

And whatever frustration or sadness we may feel,

That too will pass.

And all of this is okay.

To bring this short session to a close,

I'll take one final breath in and releasing.

Before opening your eyes,

A small note of gratitude for yourself for taking this time.

And thank you.
