Hello everyone and welcome to our meditation today.
My name is Heather and I am so honored to be able to sit with you these next few minutes.
So first and foremost,
I invite you to find a comfortable seat.
You can sit down in a chair.
Maybe on the floor.
Maybe you would like to lie down today.
Find a place that feels supportive.
For where you are at today.
First session.
I invite you to set an intention around the word patience.
Oftentimes we learn patience while enduring a trial or a challenge.
But what is patience?
Patience is defined as the capacity to endure delay,
Trouble,
Or suffering without getting angry or upset.
This important trait combines tolerance,
Emotional resilience,
And self-restraint.
When we cultivate patience,
We experience self-control.
And we experience help in preventing impulsive reactions.
During stressful situations.
Different situations require different types of patients.
We need patience to help us stay calm when we are dealing with others mistakes.
The ways,
Or their difficult behavior.
We need patience to help us endure long-term suffering or difficult circumstances.
With a comb.
And unruffled temper.
We need patience while tolerating minor daily setbacks.
Things such as bad traffic,
Waiting in a long line,
Or waking up late.
We need patience to help us maintain steady,
Consistent progress.
When working toward a long-term goal.
Vacations is so worth having.
When we cultivate and carry patients.
We notice that in our physical bodies.
We may have lower blood pressure and reduced stress levels.
Patience allows us to experience more rational thinking and the ability to make thoughtful choices.
It can lead us to wisdom.
Patience helps us foster self-compassion and leads us to greater empathy and forgiveness in others.
When you feel yourself running low or becoming frustrated,
Take a deep breath.
Count to 10.
And allow patients to take control.
So as we begin our meditation today,
I want you to remember that this time is for you.
You are in control.
Of this time.
And I invite you now.
To gently close your eyes.
Let's settle in by taking a few deep breaths.
In through your nose.
Exhale.
Out.
Now this time.
.
.
Let's fold it.
Breathe in.
I'm out.
Let's repeat this again.
And out.
One more time,
But this time as you exhale.
Allow a noise to come from your mouth.
A sigh,
Maybe a loud moan,
Whatever you feel that needs to escape,
Let it escape on the exhale.
Ready?
M.
Hold.
And let it out.
Now rewrap.
Shrug your shoulders to your ears.
Drop them quickly.
Repeat this action.
Up to your ears.
And drop your shoulders quickly.
Relaxing down your back.
Relax your hands.
Relax your feet.
Part your lips gently,
Relaxing the muscles in your face.
Let's go on an adventure together.
An adventure to bring peace.
Calm.
And stillness.
Imagine sitting on the deck of a beautiful cabin.
This deck is large and so comforting.
It's a safe space.
It's relaxing.
Stress-free.
As you relax in a chair on the step,
You feel the stress of the day melting away.
You feel tension leaving your body.
This is a great space.
A space made just for you.
Smile and allow yourself to enjoy a few deep breaths.
Breathe now.
In.
And out.
And out.
You look around at the nature surrounding this deck,
Surrounding this beautiful cabin.
It's a warm summer night.
The sunlight is casting a beautiful glow.
Shadows are growing longer.
You see a gorgeous lake right outside the cabin.
You notice how the sunlight bounces off the water.
This golden light bounces off the ripples in the water.
Maybe you notice some ducks swimming by.
Maybe there's a boat coming in for the night.
The water is so peaceful to watch.
It seems to be life-giving.
Bring the wonder to your mind.
Joy to your heart.
Beyond the lake.
You notice other cabins.
You watch as a group of people gather together and talk.
Lighting a campfire on the beach.
You smile as the darkening sky allows you to notice the dancing flames.
Small embers shoot into the sky like golden balls of glitter.
You notice the change in the sky.
The lighting.
The fill of the air as the sun is settling down in the horizon.
This change invites calm.
As you move from warmth to warmth.
To a slight chill.
You recognize how relaxed you are feeling.
You Breathe deeply into your belly.
Hold for a moment.
And then exhale.
The calm of the water of the still of the evening.
Turns your mind to your body.
You scan through your body.
Moving from your feet.
To the top of your head.
As you imagine each area of your body,
You recognize the feeling or the sensation you experience there.
As you come across tension or discomfort,
Find a way to bring relief.
As you look into.
And listen to your body.
You give a moment of gratitude for this amazing gift.
Gratitude for all that it enables you to do.
Gratitude for the way it has carried you through life thus far.
You begin to notice that the sun has disappeared.
Leaving a bright,
Beautiful moon.
And a sky dotted with millions of stars.
The fire across the lake is brighter now.
You hear the distant voices and laughter of the people enjoying their time together.
You hear the sound of an owl calling out.
You wonder what this creature is calling for.
He or she may be saying.
You begin to think about something you would like to say.
What have you been longing to hear?
What is a message that you need to say to yourself?
I invite you to say it now.
Whisper it gently.
Repeat it as often as you need.
Allow emotion to come up.
Embrace this moment.
As you continue to look around and scan your surroundings in this perfect space,
You notice a small box sitting on the ground next to you.
You did not notice it before.
But it is there now.
Place just for you.
It's only you.
You pick it up with great curiosity.
You recognize the beautiful humility as you open it.
And see that the box is empty.
Instead,
You are flooded with a feeling.
A feeling of patience.
This feeling shoots from your head to your toes.
Hitting throughout your body the same way that you had scanned it earlier.
It seems to heal and rejuvenate each part of you.
Lingering tension leaves.
Remaining stress is gone.
Instead,
You.
.
.
Your body,
Your heart,
And your mind are left with a feeling of resilience,
Control.
Enjoy!
As you continue to gaze around the lake.
And the twilight of the evening.
You notice that patience is now a greater part of you.
What feels different?
What are you so capable of?
How do you know that it has a place inside you?
How will you let it manifest?
You recognize that moving through life will be more enjoyable.
This gift of patience is to bless your life.
And for you to help bless the lives of others.
You begin to feel more able and stronger.
Future trials,
Challenges,
Struggles.
Can be handled with a head held high.
You find yourself feeling such gratitude and a beautiful humility deep in your soul.
Let's come back into our bodies.
Back into the presence.
Take some deep breaths.
Breathe in through your nose.
Out through your mouth.
Smile.
Let out a simple sigh.
Wiggle your toes.
Wiggle your fingers.
Walk your head from side to side.
Slowly and gently.
Open your eyes.
I invite you now.
To find a way to make patience a part of your daily life.
Recognize moments when you could practice a little more patience.
Find times that you could be an example of patience.
Pay attention.
It's how patience Blessed is your life.
And helps you be a light to others from this moment going forward.
