Welcome.
Tonight,
There is nowhere you need to go.
Nothing left to accomplish.
Nothing left to solve.
The day has already done everything it came here to do.
And now It is time to let it leave you.
Take a slow,
Easy breath in through your nose.
And sigh it gently out through your mouth.
Breathing in.
And fully breathing out.
One more time,
A slow,
Generous inhale.
And a long,
Effortless exhale.
Allow your body to become.
Just a little heavier.
A little softer.
As though the Earth has been waiting all day to hold you.
Feel the places where your body meets the bed.
There is nothing to hold yourself above.
Nothing to brace against.
You are fully supported.
With every exhale,
Imagine the day is slipping gently away.
Not because you're pushing it aside.
But because it already knows it is time to go.
Quietly.
Softly.
Let the day leave you.
Bring your awareness to the tiny muscles around your eyes.
Notice if they have been quietly working for you all day.
Watching Focusing.
Taking everything in.
Now,
Allow them to rest.
As though warm water is flowing over them.
Your forehead smooths.
The space between your eyebrows softens.
Your eyes become pleasantly heavy.
Let the day leave you.
Allow your jaw to loosen.
There is nothing left to say.
Nothing left to explain.
Nothing left to hold.
Your tongue rests softly.
Your lips part ever so slightly.
Even your face knows it is nighttime.
Feel your shoulders.
Perhaps they have been carrying conversations.
Expectations.
Responsibilities.
Plans.
Imagine setting down a heavy backpack.
You didn't realize you were wearing.
Your shoulders melt.
Your arms become wonderfully heavy.
Your hands no longer need to hold the world.
Let the day leave you.
Feel your chest rise and fall naturally.
There is no perfect breath.
Your body has known how to breathe since your first moment here.
You don't have to help it.
You don't have to improve it.
Simply allow yourself to be breathed.
Feel your belly soften.
Your hips.
Release.
Your legs become warm and heavy.
Your feet relax completely.
Your whole body settling.
Like a stone finding its place beneath still water.
Completely at ease.
If thoughts are still moving through your mind.
Let them come.
There is no need to stop them.
Instead.
Imagine that each thought becomes a small evening bird.
One by one.
They lift gently into the twilight sky.
There goes the conversation from today.
Another bird.
There goes tomorrow's list.
Another bird.
There goes the question you couldn't answer.
Another bird.
You don't choose them.
You don't hold them.
You simply watch them disappear into the widening evening.
Until the sky becomes beautifully quiet.
Now imagine yourself beside a calm ocean at night.
The tide moves without effort.
A wave arrives.
And gently retreats.
Another wave.
And another.
With every wave,
Something from today is carried back into the sea.
Au revoir.
A conversation.
A responsibility.
A hurry.
The ocean knows what to do with them.
You do not have to.
Simply let the day leave you.
Above you,
The moon hangs quietly in the night sky.
It asks nothing of you.
It simply shines.
The stars appear,
One by one.
No rush.
No striving.
Just channel arrival.
You are allowed to arrive this way too.
Softly.
Quietly.
Without effort.
Notice how your body feels now.
Heavier.
Lamb.
More spacious.
As though every exhale creates a little more room.
For sleep to find you.
You are not trying to fall asleep.
You're simply making space.
Sleep already knows the way.
Perhaps you begin to notice.
The edges of your thoughts becoming soft.
Like mist over water.
Like clouds slowly drifting across the moon.
Nothing needs your attention anymore.
Nothing needs deciding.
Nothing needs fixing tonight.
You have done enough.
You are enough.
Now,
Let the day leave you.
Feel yourself floating gently between waking.
And dreaming.
That beautiful place where nothing is expected.
Where your body remembers how to restore itself.
Where your heart becomes quiet.
Where your mind becomes spacious.
Simply rest here.
The night knows how to carry what you cannot.
It has carried countless evenings before this one.
And it will carry this one too.
You are held.
You are resting.
You are already moving towards sleep.
Sleep is not something you must travel.
It has been quietly approaching you.
All along.
With every breath.
It comes a little closer.
With every exhale.
Another piece of today drifts away.
Until.
All that remains.
Is this moment.
This breath.
The square.
And if sleep comes now,
Allow yourself to follow it gently.
Like a leaf floating downstream.
Like the tide returning to the sea.
Like the evening welcoming the stars.
The day has finished with you.
The night is ready to receive you.
Let the day leave you.
And let yourself be carried gently.
And to sleep.
