Begin by finding a comfortable seat or lying down.
When you're ready,
Close your eyes.
Where attention goes,
Energy flows.
In the world of social media,
Your attention is a precious commodity.
The promise of quick dopamine in the form of stimulating content,
Likes,
Messages,
Pulls us away from the present moment,
Interrupting our workflow,
Processing thoughts and feeling our feelings.
Instead of judging ourselves for being pulled by these distractions,
I'll guide you through this grounding practice to help you come back to your center.
The past is in the past.
Let's focus on what we can do in the present.
Checking in with your body,
Allowing any thoughts,
Emotions or sensations to arise.
If we allow them to come to the surface,
We're better able to release them.
Imagine yourself in a beautiful green forest.
Your feet are firmly planted on the ground.
You can feel the grass in between your toes.
You're surrounded by beautiful,
Tall,
Green trees.
Taking a look around you,
What else do you see?
Any sights,
Sounds or smells?
Feel yourself grounded to the earth beneath you,
Anchoring yourself in the present moment.
As you lay here in this soft spot,
You feel a beautiful breeze brushing past you.
With each inhale,
Sending fresh energy into your body.
With each exhale,
Handing over any worries,
Anxieties or overstimulation to nature.
Let the breeze carry them away through the trees.
And finding one last deep breath in your beautiful,
Quiet forest.
In this state of relaxation,
We are better able to make conscious change towards the life that we truly desire.
Whether it be journaling out your thoughts,
Taking action on a task or choosing an activity that is outside in the fresh air.
Whatever you decide,
It is yours to choose.
