I chant this mantra when I am feeling unsure of myself and need a reminder of where I come from. I also chant this mantra when I am feeling really grateful for life and I want to share that gratitude out loud. This mantra helps me to remember my connection to the bigger picture. It is powerful. It can be found at the beginning of the Isha Upanishad. In Sanskrit the words are: Purnamadah Purnamidam Purnat Purnamudachyate Purnasya Purnamadaya Purnameva Vashishyate Om shanti, shanti, shanti English Translation: That is whole; this is whole From the whole, this whole came Remove this whole from that whole [and] What remains is still whole Om peace, peace, peace In this recording, you can listen to the chant, repeat it with me, and let the vibrations resonate within you.

Namaste.

Wholeness is not something we lack,

But it is something we forget.

Wholeness is a process of remembering that we came from something unchanging,

Something permanent and complete.

This mantra comes from the Upanishads,

And it continues to appear for me as I study yoga.

I chant this mantra to remind myself of the spark inside of me that is unchanging.

It is the same spark that is inside of you,

The spark that started the whole universe.

This spark journeys with us always.

The mantra is in the Sanskrit language.

With the English translation,

The words are purna-mada,

Purna-midam,

Purna-t,

Purna-mudatsate,

Purna-sya,

Purna-madaya,

Purna-meva-vashishate.

That is whole.

This is whole.

From the whole,

This whole came.

Move this whole from that whole,

And what remains is still whole.

I'll teach you my favorite version of this mantra by singing one word at a time,

Then repeating each word a second time so that you can sing with me.

I'll continue until the whole mantra is complete.

Then I'll sing the mantra all the way through for you to hear a melody and further enjoy the sound.

Beautiful voice. Gentle, warm. The bell at the end is a tad bit too loud; not too bad though. Overall, calming and reassuring. Definitely bookmarking this one.

I successfully avoided this 5 minutes for nearly 2 years, but - having done all of your meditations, some hundreds of times - I finally listened to this mantra. Gorgeous!

This meditation was so relaxing. I didn't even pay attention to the translation because it felt best in its purest form.
