Choose a space where you can sit or lie down without distractions,
Ensuring your posture supports a state of relaxed alertness.
Gently close your eyes and turn your attention inward,
Focusing on the natural rhythm of your breath.
Let's start by taking a deep,
Intentional breath together.
Inhale slowly and deeply,
Filling your lungs with fresh air,
Feeling your chest and abdomen rise.
Hold this breath for a moment,
Savoring the sense of fullness and vitality it brings.
Now exhale gently,
Releasing any tension or discomfort you may be holding onto.
Feel your body relax a little more with this out-breath.
Continue to breathe in this slow and mindful manner.
With each inhalation,
Imagine that you are drawing in peace and calmness.
With each exhalation,
Imagine that you are letting go of any stress or negativity.
Allow your breath to become a cycle of rejuvenation,
Cleansing your mind and body of any residual tension.
Pay attention to the sensations in your body as you breathe.
Notice the gentle rise and fall of your chest,
The subtle expansion and contraction of your abdomen.
Feel the coolness of the air as you breathe in,
And its warmth as you breathe out.
Allow your breathing to ground you in this present moment,
Creating a sense of stability and peace.
Now,
Let's gently shift our focus to different parts of the body,
Encouraging a deeper state of relaxation.
Bring your awareness to the top of your head and imagine a warm,
Soothing light gently resting there.
As you breathe,
Imagine this light slowly spreading down,
Relaxing and calming every part of your body it touches.
Feel the light move down to your forehead,
Smoothing out any lines of tension.
Allow it to flow over your eyes,
Softening the tiny muscles there.
Feel it caress your cheeks,
Your jaw,
Allowing any tightness there to simply melt away.
Allow this gentle wave of relaxation to continue flowing down your neck,
Relaxing the muscles on either side of your spine,
All the way down to your shoulders.
Feel your shoulders drop slightly as the light brings its calming presence,
Releasing any burdens or weights you may be carrying there.
Let the light flow down your arms,
All the way to the tips of your fingers,
Leaving a trail of relaxation and peace.
Now bring your attention back to the centre of your chest,
Feeling the light warm and soothing your heart area.
Let it gently flow through your entire torso,
Relaxing your back,
Your chest,
Your abdomen.
Feel the light continue to flow down,
Relaxing your hips,
Your thighs,
All the way down to your feet.
Feel your entire body enveloped in this warm,
Soothing light,
Completely relaxed and at peace.
Allow your breath to return to its natural rhythm.
Let go of any effort to control your breath,
Just let it be.
Your breath knows exactly how much air it needs.
Surrender to its gentle guidance.
Now imagine that within your heart there exists a sacred space,
A sanctuary where all parts of you co-exist.
This is the place where your acknowledged self meets your hidden self,
Where your light intertwines with your shadow.
Start by acknowledging the parts of yourself that are always in the light,
The aspects that you easily and willingly share with the world.
These may be your strengths,
Talents,
And positive traits.
Picture them as objects,
Colours,
Or lights within this sacred space.
Notice their shapes,
Hues,
And vibrations.
How do they make you feel?
Acknowledge their presence and express your gratitude towards them.
These parts of you are valuable and have contributed to your journey in many ways.
Now,
Gently turn your attention to the parts of you that often remain in the shadows,
The aspects that you may hide or overlook.
These could be your fears,
Insecurities,
Or perceived flaws.
Picture these as well,
Giving them form within your sacred space.
Observe them without judgement,
Simply allowing them to be.
Notice how these hidden parts of yourself also contribute to your whole being.
They,
Too,
Have a place and a purpose.
In this space of non-judgement and acceptance,
Recognize that both light and shadow are integral parts of who you are.
They represent the full spectrum of your being,
Each side providing balance and depth to the other.
Just as a painting needs both light and dark shades to create depth,
Your personality requires a balance of these dualities to be complete and authentic.
Now,
Imagine these dualities coming together,
Merging,
And intertwining in harmony.
As they meet,
Notice any resistance and allow it to dissolve,
Making space for acceptance and understanding.
Realize that embracing your shadow is not about changing who you are,
But about accepting and loving all parts of yourself.
Feel the energy within your sacred space becoming more balanced and harmonious as these dualities merge.
You may notice a sense of relief,
As if a burden has been lifted.
The energy here is gentle,
Forgiving,
And kind.
In this space,
There is no need for judgement,
Only acceptance and love.
As you continue to breathe deeply,
Allow this sense of balance and wholeness to permeate every cell of your being.
Feel yourself becoming more grounded,
More centered,
And more at peace with all parts of yourself.
In this moment,
You are perfect just as you are.
Hold this sense of balance and acceptance for a few moments longer,
Breathing in peace and exhaling any remaining tension.
Take a few more deep cleansing breaths,
Feeling the sense of balance and wholeness within you.
Know that you can carry this sense of balance with you,
Even as you open your eyes and return to your day.
When you are ready,
Slowly begin to bring your awareness back to the room,
Noticing any sounds or sensations around you.
Gently wiggle your fingers and toes,
And when you feel ready,
Open your eyes.
Thank you for taking this time for yourself,
For acknowledging all parts of who you are.
Remember,
You are a beautiful balance of all your dualities,
And you carry this balance within you always.
