What we intend to do today in this talk.
Is to continue what we've been looking at over the last week or perhaps two weeks.
Including the material we covered.
About this idea of let the sea be the sea.
There's so much to.
Find to discover in our work.
That it requires sort of a continual immersion.
Imagine a sous chef wanting to become a MasterChef,
They have to spend a lot of time learning all of the things that go into Ultimately,
What's required to transcend the mechanical action of preparing into the actual perfection of marrying all those things into a single dish.
That's a lot like what we have to do in our interior work.
Our topic today,
Which Kate,
We might as well bring that up so we can finish.
Get moving into this material.
If you look at it with me,
The four unseen causes of why we feel stuck in life.
So just to make sure I'm talking to the right group of people,
Do you ever feel stuck in life?
What's going on that over and over again,
I can be in a different country,
I can be in a different car,
Different set of clothes,
Different group of people,
I still feel stuck.
So today we're going to look at the mechanics.
Of why it is that we can so often feel like we're a captive of something stuck someplace.
So today is the mechanics.
Then tomorrow,
We're going to look at the majesty that these mechanics,
If understood and know,
And we learn how to work with them can bring us into this other world where we can let the sea be the sea.
Let's get started.
Just bringing everyone into what I hope,
If you'll put down whatever you are distracted by.
Come back into your body.
We've discussed many times and we will continue to how you can stand by and look out at an ocean.
I live on a bay.
You can watch the waters.
As they are constantly in flux.
You can see a boat goes by or a strong breeze will pick up and carry something across the surface.
You can see like today,
It's stormy,
The currents are running into currents and these patterns appear seemingly randomly.
But we can also see that everywhere in every last one of these movements,
They belong to are,
I should say,
They are determined by something greater than themselves.
So that all of this constant dichotomous movement,
All of that dichotomy is part of the beauty that we see when we can see it.
Why?
You've got the wake of the boat,
You've got the cross currents,
You've got the wind driven waves,
And all of them are participating in a relationship.
That we participate in as observing because what is the pleasure,
If you can see it with me,
I hope you don't have to stretch too much,
Here are all of these changing forms.
That we can watch.
Without wishing that any one of them would disappear.
This is a complete mishmash.
And yet there's a beauty in it.
So that what seems chaotic.
.
.
On the surface.
Beneath it we can see there is an unseen order responsible for what we see,
And part of the beauty is in the revelation of that unseen order that we are looking at in these moments.
Can you feel that?
Can you see that?
Is that part of your experience?
I hope it is because it is a requirement for any human being who wants to develop an understanding of what it means to let the sea be the sea.
So now with this picture in mind.
I want to turn our attention around.
So instead of looking out at the waters,
I want to look at,
If you will forgive the expression,
The waters of our own consciousness.
Just like outside a force of wind of current enters into the waters,
So do forces of impressions enter into us and move through us.
But unlike where this dichotomy produces this beautiful undivided experience,
When these forces impressions move into and through us,
It feels more like a collision than it does some unity by integration.
Our life is made up of these moments where we catch something and then have to figure out how we can get through it or change it so that we don't feel a disturbance in our life.
Do you see that?
And it is in these moments where it feels like this collision,
That that's when suddenly this struggle starts to control.
What we feel is this conflict.
So that by controlling the conflict,
We can finally resolve it and return to what we call the still waters of ourself.
I want to understand,
I hope you want to understand what's going on.
If I can look out and see the absolute majesty of a seamless integration of endless forces.
Blending into an impression of beauty,
Of timelessness.
Why is it when I can look out there,
I can experience that?
But when I look inside of myself,
I see virtually none of that.
At least nothing that stays with me when she says or they do or it happens seemingly against my wishes.
Everybody following me?
So like the waters,
We can see what?
A thousand,
10,
000 forces,
Impressions,
Touch them.
Same exact thing with us.
Only inwardly,
Follow me.
I hear the tone of a certain,
A certain tone in a person's voice.
I walk into a room.
And if you were wise,
You'd walk out.
I walk into a room and the person or the people in there,
It's all tense and negative.
Everybody in an unseen state of constant complaint.
I see some graffiti on a wall someplace.
Maybe I sit with a group of close friends.
But in that moment with my close friends,
One facial expression,
One unexpected tone.
And in that moment,
That expression,
That tone becomes more important than anything else in my life.
Have you seen that happen to you?
Why?
Why?
What gives?
That moment,
The power it does to literally possess and dominate our consciousness so that we find ourselves stuck.
In a situation that we don't want to feel.
Yes.
Kate,
Let's bring up the first key lesson.
It is a summary and a bit of a description of where we're going with this talk.
Read along with me.
I post these key lessons because they are the main points to the talk so that you can have them and copy them,
If nothing else.
I hope that you're interested enough to want to contemplate what it is that we look at together.
There's no way on God's green earth that you can understand what I'm telling you simply by listening to it.
You must experience it.
A sleeping mind carries its preferences with it into every moment.
Psychological body of conditioned thoughts and images,
Endlessly comparing what it needs to feel secure to any and all impressions that otherwise fail that demand.
Its desire not only determines what it never stops looking for,
But it is the root of all resulting negative reactions accordingly.
Now what does that mean if you can follow me?
Maybe you've seen this,
Maybe you've been part of it.
You're sitting with your husband,
Your wife,
Your friends,
And you say something to a person,
One of these people.
And you wouldn't say it if it didn't have some meaning to you,
To it.
And you say it and they,
They look at you and they give you some short reply.
And then they look away or they go back to eating or whatever they're doing.
Now,
If there was an impartial witness at the table,
Somebody else.
That's what they would see.
A short reply.
But oh no,
That's not what we see.
Before we know it,
We feel dismissed.
Bang,
Just like that.
Some kind of resentment starts to formulate itself inside of us.
And then as that's taking place,
Along comes this reaction.
That points to someone,
That person who gave that curt response,
They're responsible now for how insecure I'm starting to feel.
You either see this or you don't.
I'll always ask,
Are you still following me?
How crazy is that?
But to us,
It feels perfectly natural.
What we can't see.
In this moment.
But we must is that our attention.
Has been commandeered by a negative reaction.
Born of a comparison between what we want from that person and the resistance we feel when we don't get what we expect.
Our attention is commandeered by a reaction born of comparing what we expect to what we didn't get.
And when we don't get what we expect,
What happens?
A certain sense of a threat,
If not actually a loss.
The negative outcome.
Of a negative reaction that is so familiar to us that it actually feels exactly like us,
Doesn't it?
Only what we need to see and what we're learning here and will continue to learn is that this familiar negative reaction is not us.
It is not I,
But belongs to another order of an unconscious nature.
We have no awareness at all as it operates within us.
Oh!
So here,
If you're following me.
We see why we find ourselves so often feeling stuck in life.
Listen,
When you feel that you are not stuck in life,
Life can't get stuck.
You want to write something?
Life can't get stuck.
What am I stuck in?
I'm stuck in a reaction to a negative state that I believe is in fact my life.
My familiar feeling of that reaction tells me this is reality and I must find the solution to this suffering in the reality that reaction is pointing to.
So what is it then?
That is this first cause of feeling stuck.
What is it the first cause of feeling stuck?
And the answer is.
.
.
Conditioned attention.
We don't think our attention is conditioned,
But I'm trying to get you to see before we know it.
A lower nature in us is already reacting to something that it has chosen for us to attend to in that moment.
I mean,
Out of all the things that you could look at in a room,
A restaurant,
40 televisions going on,
People blabbing,
Drinks being served,
Some beautiful baked potato set down.
Where does my attention go to what your face looks like?
Why?
Because unknown to me,
My attention goes to that because it has already determined how that should look.
And it actually looks for that so that it can feel good about itself when it sees what it expects.
But if it doesn't look the way it's supposed to look,
All hell breaks loose.
What's hell?
My negative reaction to a conclusion that I'm looking for that isn't given as expected.
Our mind,
This unconscious nature,
Has pre-assigned a task to every single moment that we go into,
And when that moment doesn't live up to its assignment,
Just like that,
We feel stuck in a negative reaction.
Are you following me?
I don't want to go too fast.
I want you to see the machinery.
Follow me further.
Here comes this negative reaction.
At the same time,
This negative reaction starts to gather momentum.
What's gathering with it other than a very familiar sense of self that actually knows exactly what this reaction is and what's caused it.
And then we can hear the voices.
I've been disrespected?
I deserve better than this treatment.
I shouldn't feel this way,
We judge ourselves.
So all of this movement begins as it does this familiar resistance.
It appears with a certain sense of self that doesn't just say I to the whole of that movement,
But not only do I say I to it,
But I understand what's going on.
And I also know what has to happen to bring an end to it.
I have to take control of this situation of the way you're looking at me or of the world that doesn't understand how it's supposed to be unfolding.
Still tracking?
If you are,
Kate,
Let's bring up the second key lesson,
Please.
Keep following.
We mistake ourselves.
For being the one suffering some negative reaction that is not our own.
We mistake ourselves for being the one suffering some negative reaction that is not our own.
We identify ourselves as the injured party who knows who or what is to blame for this painful state of resistance,
The effect of which literally fixes us.
It locks us down into that negative conclusion,
As well as into the unconscious sense of self that is now identified with it.
And yes,
Of course,
That other person may have been cruel.
They may be rude beyond belief.
But I'm asking you,
How can rudeness explain why my entire inner life is now fixated on one negative reaction and then all of its ensuing dark offspring?
Do you follow the question?
That happened.
Yes,
Doesn't matter.
What has that got to do with me handing over the entirety of my soul to the substance of some reaction that's qualifying and claiming that thing as being itself?
So I have no other life and you don't.
Your life is the belief that you can escape your life into a better one when something bitter happens to you.
Real life is seeing through that bitterness and recognizing it has come up inside of you that you might transcend that unconscious nature waiting to feel betrayed.
So if you're following me,
The more we suffer any negative reaction,
This is key.
The more we suffer any negative reaction,
The more absorbed we become in the unwanted condition we blame for it.
Do you see it suffering around?
And what am I looking at?
I'm fully immersed in this state that says,
See that,
That's it.
So that our full attention is on a feeling we don't want.
A feeling we don't want,
Which in turn feeds the explanation we have for it,
Sustaining the suffering.
You understand that,
You're on your way to giving yourself up to the necessity of seeing the need to do so.
Now,
The third cause of why we feel stuck.
This unconscious nature.
I've been describing.
Not only limits the revelation of any new possibility outside of what that reaction allows for,
But at the same time that it's.
Crushing the possibility of any new kind of perception.
That very sense of isolation is creating inside of us a growing sense of separation.
First,
I'm isolated in that resistance to that negative state.
And I can't see that the more I resist some negative state,
The more isolated I am from life.
From the flow of impressions.
I'm separated out from this beautiful,
Constant stream of life,
Of light,
Because all I can see is what I call darkness,
According to the light in me that recognizes it.
So life keeps offering new impressions,
But inwardly the world we live in now is the size of a negative reaction,
To some unconscious act of Mental comparison.
Shrunk.
You're stuck.
Stuck inside of a nature.
That lives to struggle.
To escape the conditions it creates in itself.
In such moments.
And I'll ask again,
Haven't we all known them?
Where we can be at a party,
We can be among close friends and feel utterly alone,
Completely separate.
Have you ever had that experience?
You're out having a glass of wine with friends,
And the tone,
The look,
And in a heartbeat,
I'm all alone.
A thought comes,
You know,
Everybody can afford four glasses of wine,
I can't.
Why is he buying something expensive?
All of these questions,
The minute that that reaction takes place,
Regardless what formulates after them,
We feel alone,
Separate.
We can sit by a river and not see it flow.
And even though new impressions,
We know they continue to flow through us,
We have no awareness of them at all.
So to be clear,
No one chooses this sense of confinement.
No one chooses it.
The movements unfolded together I'm describing happen so quickly that we discover ourselves already a captive of that conclusion.
Resistance,
Reaction,
Conclusion,
Captivity.
And this is why.
Blaming ourselves accomplishes nothing.
You blame yourself for a situation.
What are you looking at?
You're looking at something telling you why you feel the way you do.
And then if you just judge yourself severely enough,
Somehow or other,
You will transcend the situation that nature blames.
This lower nature needs something to hate,
To be against,
To resist,
Because that's how it sustains itself.
Our work is to become aware of this sense of isolation that we,
Yes,
We have been complicit in without knowing so.
Which I'll add brings us to the fourth cause of why we feel stuck.
Kate,
Please let's post the third key lesson.
Read along with me.
The false sense of self formed.
By some negative reaction keeps returning to the memory of that moment it resists,
Where the escape it imagines renews its sense of being stuck.
The sense of self,
The false sense of self formed by that negative reaction keeps returning to the memory of the moment that it's resisting,
Where the escape it imagines,
The tomorrow where it won't be like this,
Renews its sense of captivity.
Can you see that?
And yes,
Rebecca,
This talk is reposted.
So in essence,
We keep returning to what?
A replay of the original reaction.
Revisiting and resisting the experience of it as though it were happening in the now.
It isn't happening in the now what we blame.
What's happening now is that something in us keeps revisiting that reaction,
And the more it revisits it,
The less it wants to experience it.
And so it begins this process of like a plate spinning.
I shouldn't feel this way.
I've got to get past this point.
Why am I still upset?
So that the demand to be free.
Actually becomes another pressure within the same enclosure.
So the more stuck I feel,
The less I want to feel it,
And the more I feel that stuckness.
Hope you're following me.
Kate,
Let's bring up the fourth key lesson,
Please.
Next summary.
Follow me.
The more we resist this negative reaction,
The more we unintentionally revitalize the unseen nature that sustains it.
The attempt to end the disturbance we feel.
Amplifies it,
And it becomes the source of that renewed resistance.
The attempt to end any disturbance amplifies it and becomes the source of the very renewal of the thing we don't want to experience.
Now,
What else do I know?
Other than.
I've got to bring an end to this disturbance.
Because I don't want to feel it.
And over and over again,
Where do I get the solution?
To control this disturbance,
Other than from the very nature whose reaction is my experience telling me,
Here's how to escape the reaction you're having,
Have a new reaction.
Only this one has a promise that ends better than the pain you're in at the moment.
You have to see this.
I'll help you.
Nice deep breath.
Let's return for a moment to this idea.
At the heart of what I'm describing and have been talking about when it comes to how,
In the name of God,
Not only did I get this feeling of being stuck,
But how do I step into a world?
Where there's no such thing as being stuck.
There's,
There's,
There's,
There's not an,
There's not an infant,
There's not the smallest particle science will ever discover.
Nor the greatest cosmos that we will ever explore that is stuck.
Again,
Tomorrow we'll look at this in a very beautiful way.
Let the sea be the sea.
Upon its waters,
Here come these waves.
They change direction without notifying anybody they're about to change.
Some of the waves,
When they counter each other,
They will amplify each other and that energy will grow and something will mount.
Sometimes these waves diminish one another.
And just like out there inwardly,
These infinite forces are interacting.
Yet we can see out there in their opposition is a harmony.
Within us,
Everything that feels like it opposes us is the furthest thing from a balanced life,
Because out of that disturbance comes a nature that says,
I've got to control everything in order to restore balance.
That's insanity.
A timeless movement exists that belongs to a whole whose life is greater than the sum of its moving parts.
And we are not just part of that holiness.
We are intended to be a conscious participant in it.
And being stuck outside of it is the source of our suffering,
Seeing how we're complicit with that stuckness is the solution to this suffering.
Kate,
Let's bring up the fifth key lesson,
Please.
Identification with any impression arrests the real reason for its appearance.
Identification with any impression arrests the real reason for its appearance.
It isn't some unexpected moment of life that causes our suffering.
But rather that within us is a false nature that resists any condition it sees as a threat to its equally false sense of permanence.
And it is in that nature.
That we become fixed.
We are fixed in a nature that without knowing it,
Fixes itself in a state of permanent suffering so that it can feel as if it's real and everlasting.
Although the problem is what is everlasting in that nature is its purgatory,
Is its hell.
That's what's everlasting in this unconscious nature,
Unattended by the light that reveals its proclivity to get stuck in itself.
Thank you.
Still following me?
I don't want to go too far,
Too fast,
Because I want to make a really important transition that I hope you can follow,
Especially those of you who know anything at all about me.
The Old Testament about the Holy Testament.
East and West.
Because these images are all through it,
But this one in particular.
In Genesis there's a story.
About the wife of lot.
I'm not going to go into the story if you don't know it.
An angel comes and tells them that because of the wickedness of this city in which they live,
It's about to be destroyed,
And a city,
By the way,
In the old language,
Does not refer to a physical place.
But refers to a physical place as being a reflection of the consciousness responsible for its manifestation.
So that the manifestation of an evil place can be a physical situation,
But that situation doesn't exist without the consciousness that has brought it into time as an example of that evil place.
Unconscious nature.
So they're told,
Take your wife,
Take everybody and get up to the next mountain,
The highest mountain.
So they go to leave,
But Lot's wife She doesn't want to go and they're even told whatever you do.
Do not turn back and look at what is going to be destroyed.
Under no circumstances look back.
But Lot's wife cannot leave without turning back.
And when she does,
She is turned into a pillar of salt.
She is crystallized.
Because she cannot leave behind the sense of self created in and through and a part of.
What she had been participating in her whole life,
Which is this unconscious nature,
This city of creatures,
Thoughts and feelings,
Untransformed and unwilling to be revealed.
And so it is that the story goes,
She's crystallized,
Which is why Christ said in the New Testament,
Remember Lot's wife,
Remember Lot's wife.
He was saying,
Look,
Understand that what crystallized the story of becoming a fixed,
Stuck human being cannot be separated from the fixation that this mind has with its own content and its wish to revisit what that content creates when it compares everything to what it wants and doesn't get.
So we can see this image of Lot's wife,
Of this crystallization,
If we can,
As representing that what captured,
What's got Lot's wife stuck and crystallized wasn't the condition,
But rather the direction of her attention in the moment of the revelation of that condition.
She was crystallized because her attention did not belong to her.
But belonged to a nature that was a citizen of that city.
Of that of that.
Malformed Matrix of.
.
.
Unconscious thought.
That has no interest in being anything other than continuing itself.
And so her crystallization,
A result of the direction of her attention.
It wasn't a place that she couldn't leave,
But the sense of self,
That life that had been so carefully cultivated in that circumstance.
That she was convinced she couldn't live outside of that.
Just like whether you understand or not,
You believe you can't live outside of your enemies.
You can't live outside of the conditions that give you your comfort.
You can't live outside of the relationships that you are not only codependent,
But that you enable.
You and I actually believe that we can't live outside of this attachment that we have to whatever power and possessions we may possess.
That's a fact!
And the truth of it is we're always being asked to leave it.
To ascend.
But we can no more even begin.
We may even,
God help us,
Intend to ascend,
Intend to keep our attention on the higher.
Keep our attention on the aim of this life,
Which is to be the manifestation of something divine,
The heaven,
The will of heaven and the will of earth.
But the will of earth wants nothing to do with anything that disturbs the earth within us,
Disturbs these thoughts and feelings and all of these reactions that are subsequent.
Just like Lot's wife,
She believed that was her only home.
Imagine for a minute,
If you can,
We believe our only home is the house of thought.
Because that's the only place we enter into and that we allow to come into us in the form of the reactions that take place when the content of some particular thought is threatened.
Then we don't just enter into it,
We double down.
Who's we?
Legion.
It isn't we who double down.
It is this nature that doubles down so that it can prove to itself in its pain that it's in the right place.
Only one day it won't be there anymore.
It'll be in a better place.
So we can contemplate the condition of Lot's wife.
As an image of what happens when identification isolates a sense of self from the movement that it is intended to be a part of.
Identification is this fixation.
It isolates us in a very fixed sense of identity.
That by its very fixation not only cannot participate in the impressions come to renew us and restore us and rejoin us,
But in the very resistance to these impressions actually form a sense of self that is now like a stick in a,
Stuck in a riverbed where everything moving against it proves to it,
It's in the right place.
Everything else is going wrong.
Can you see this with me?
How often do we look back at a given moment like that?
Moments over.
Oh,
But not the movement of these reactions.
On one hand,
Natural reactions,
Just like wind and current,
Water,
They will blend.
Natural reactions blend.
They renew themselves.
And bring forth a new impression,
A new conception.
In us,
Reactions are not natural.
Oh,
And by the way,
Neither is judging ourself for these reactions that act against themselves and draw us into their work.
Inwardly,
We remain.
By this attention to this city of reactions fixed on and identified with what we are told from within that city,
What we need to do to make that city work and to be right and beautiful.
So life keeps moving and something in us keeps insisting that we remain where our claim is.
Can not only be defended,
But enhanced.
Everybody still with me,
Because I'm coming to a.
.
.
Close here.
To remember the image of Lot's wife.
And it's a powerful one.
Turned around,
Crystallized,
Life over.
Substance of soul turned into the stuff of the earth.
To remember this can help us recognize.
In this moment where all of a sudden,
Let's run through it,
I'm someplace,
I don't see my attention was just claimed by that.
You,
I don't mean,
I'm not denigrating.
You believe there's an innocent thought.
Here comes a thought about what this is or that did or why not and how come.
That thought comes in and we go,
Eh,
Like a squirrel looking a nut,
Ah.
And my attention is claimed by a thought I didn't originate.
Attention claimed!
And the minute the attention is claimed,
What happens?
There's now a reaction to what my attention has been claimed by.
Why else was it claimed other than it didn't fit?
It wasn't right.
So my attention went to what,
By comparison,
Isn't living up to what it's meant to be.
And in that reaction,
Here is this self that now knows what's taken place.
And the greater that sense of self becomes,
The more isolated,
The more separated we are from real life.
Because now all of our attention is vested in this one suffering seed of a self.
And the more that suffering is vested in that,
The more we resist the experience of that.
And the more we resist the experience of this self,
The more it keeps that relationship in place.
So now I'm stuck and I don't know how I got there.
All I know is how to get unstuck and you can't get unstuck from a negative reaction and the reality it produces.
Getting unstuck requires dying to the illusion it was real to begin with.
Which we're given to see every moment.
If we will look.
As best possible.
If you want to formulate some kind of exercise out of this.
Just notice.
Ideally go into moments knowing.
That you tend to be Lot's wife.
What is impatience?
Impatience is,
I'm here.
My mind looks at something in the city,
In this realm of unconscious thoughts,
And it sees that something isn't where it's supposed to be,
Or I'm not there where I need to be.
And all of a sudden,
All of this impatience is the resistance to some conclusion that I can be someplace better,
Or that you could be someone other than you are.
So as Beth,
Can I go in knowing I have these tendencies and notice that anything,
Anytime something,
Someone captures your full attention,
That in that moment where your attention is captured,
There's always a form of tension,
Of anxiety.
So tension is the tell that you are in the first stage of being crystallized,
Of being solidified,
Of being stuck.
Tension is the first sign that you are stepping into that quicksand of this unconscious nature.
So stress,
Tension,
First sign of being in conflict with what?
With what is unfolding within and around us at all times.
Tension,
Stress,
Evidences what?
Unseen resistance.
There is no stress,
There is no tension without resistance.
And there is no resistance that doesn't come with a sense of separation.
Where the more isolated we feel from life,
The more we're trying to figure out how to get it back flowing the way our mind says it's meant to flow,
Which is the antithesis of flow.
Did you know thoughts don't flow?
The proper use of thought as in conveying something of a practical or otherwise higher nature.
Is that something above the realm of thought is organizing them according to a greater order that thought belongs to,
But that the nature of thought has no willingness to agree exists at all.
All true impressions.
Come out of and return.
To a ceaselessly interchanging body of life.
To the waters of life.
There's no past.
To the living movement of life.
Our mind calls what we remember or construct out of the movement we've named.
We call that the past.
It doesn't exist like that at all.
And we call the future where we won't have to suffer being stuck.
Merely reforming this movement that isn't quite right and massaging it into a time imagined where we will no longer be stuck.
And now we're stuck in an image that the moment life challenges it,
We're right back to feeling stuck again and blaming something outside of ourselves.
Any painful reaction when it comes up.
Can produce in us a moment of remembering this beautiful idea of let the sea be the sea.
Let whatever this impression is come in.
Produce what it does,
Become the witness of what is produced,
And then let what is produced bring about the next series of movements,
And then you sit and observe the entire movement of yourself without mistaking what is moving in you for being you.
Then you understand not only the four causes.
You not only at least have a mental construct of what it is in which you get stuck,
But you know better than to get stuck in any one aspect of that construct.
You let it reveal itself.
And as it does,
You are released from this terrible feeling of being stuck in life.
Again,
Tomorrow,
If you can.
We have five minutes,
As far as I can tell from my clock here,
To engage,
To talk,
To answer questions,
To do whatever it is that you might have in mind.
And I'm happy to entertain.
If anyone wants.
You're welcome,
Claudia.
Everything is contained.
In the light.
And everything that can participate in the light.
Is in this consciousness.
So then more consciousness is awakened.
It isn't that it creates light,
It doesn't make more light,
It simply enters into it where everything that takes place becomes a form of light.
So are you saying that just identifying it as a seed will let it be released?
No.
No,
I'm saying you must see it as a seed.
We don't see our reactions as the seed of the suffering that they create,
Positive or negative reaction.
Oh,
This is great.
Now I'm identified with an image.
I'm deriving an identity from it,
Now I need to protect it.
That's the seed of suffering.
Oh,
This is terrible!
What am I looking at?
The seed that didn't flower the way it was supposed to,
And the more I resist that seed,
The more I suffer from it.
We must see these things and.
.
.
It's the strangest thing.
You would think that real life,
And I'm sure it did incidentally back in the so-called day when the soul was a singularity with the divine that created it.
Adam,
Eve,
Whatever that represents in the in the in the ontology of the system,
You know,
They could see they could see everything was attuned to them.
They were attuned with everything.
Because seeing has no separation.
And you would think we would start there.
But humanity so fallen as we are,
We have to start with an intellectual seeing,
We have to start with looking at the parts.
But if we look at them closely enough,
We'll learn certain things about how these parts touch each other.
And then as we start to See,
Wait a minute,
This is all strung together.
Oh,
Wait,
It's a hole.
Ah,
I see the hole.
Now I am released accordingly.
Is there anything good about thought?
It seems to get us into trouble.
Of course there's good stuff.
I go into thought to remember a good recipe.
I go into thought when I need to work on a condition at my business.
Here's,
I can see my mind makes a construct.
This is the construct as best I understand it.
I see there's a problem in the construct.
Now thought can begin to look at these parts and begin as best it can to make the assumptions it needs to correct things.
So correction begins with having the proper thinking.
But the proper thinking is intended to begin with the proper seeing.
Until we can properly see the activity of thought,
We have to rely on it as a kind of experiment to help us see.
Does that work?
Doesn't it work?
A man who swings a golf club,
I can speak to this personally,
He trusts thought to swing the club.
The thought can't swing a golf club,
But the thinking nature tries to make it swing it.
That's called hell on the golf course.
Eventually,
It isn't thought that swings the club.
This nature begins to surrender itself to a recognition and relationship with the club,
And then it can begin to be released.
The same holds true for us.
