Hello,
And welcome to our seventh session in 31 Keys to Change Your Destiny.
This is Guy Finley,
And I'm glad that we're still together and working through these important insights that allow us to begin realizing our true being,
The part of us that gives rise to everything that we experience so that we understand that our being is our future.
And to change our future,
We must change our being.
That's why the seventh of these sessions is called There's No Gain in Blame.
Look,
When your feet ache,
And all of us know what that's like,
It's because your shoes are too tight,
Or the laces are too tight.
What I mean to say is that you don't complain that somebody else made you put on those shoes or tie your laces that tight.
Have you ever put on a pair of socks and had that little,
I don't know what it is,
The place where they sew the end together?
It'd be crazy to look at somebody sitting across from you and get upset with them because that part is rubbing your toe the wrong way,
And yet we will blame others every time that our feelings get hurt.
That's how it works in us presently.
But it's our feelings.
What the other person has done is they have touched a part of us that we don't know is so touchy.
So it doesn't matter what we get them to do or how we try to change or control that moment.
The issue is that there's something in our level of being that can still be brought to that point where it hurts to be who we are because we don't understand that in that moment where we're experiencing that kind of suffering,
It's because we don't understand that painful emotions exist as they do to show us a pained part of our being that we're not aware of yet.
That's why if we can wake up in those moments and experience the part of us that's getting ready to blame somebody for the way we feel,
Then in that moment we can dare to drop the blame.
We can dare to drop the part of ourselves that wants to punish someone else for the pain that our being is in in that moment.
In fact,
One day we'll actually learn to be grateful to others who help us see these parts of our being.
And as we grow in that kind of understanding,
We see that not only is there no gain in blame,
But that the more we blame,
The less chance we have to change our being.
This is such an important idea that I hope you'll listen to this particular session again so that bit by bit we can take that part of us that wants to blame and turn its game into our gain.
I'll see you in the next session tomorrow where we're going to talk about having a light spirit.
Bye for now!
