Welcome to this guided practice for transitioning into spring.
I'm so glad you're here.
Find your way to a comfortable position,
Allowing your body to fully relax.
It might feel nice to have a bolster or pillow under the knees,
Or a blanket over your body for warmth.
Allow the eyes to close if that feels comfortable,
And begin to turn inward.
Take a slow,
Deep breath in through your nose,
And exhale fully through your mouth,
Releasing any lingering tension from your day.
Again,
Inhale deeply through the nose,
Exhale completely through the mouth.
It might even feel good to let an audible sigh out as you exhale.
Take a few more breaths like that,
Letting your breath begin to settle into a natural,
Effortless rhythm as you're ready.
Nature always reminds us that change is constant.
As the days begin to grow longer,
The earth softens,
And new energy begins to emerge.
Even as life feels like it's awakening and maybe speeding up,
We can choose to move with awareness,
And give ourselves the rest we need.
Spring brings new beginnings,
But growth requires moments of deep rest.
Let's honor that balance between transition and rest,
Preparing to open the space within,
And surrender to stillness.
Bring your attention back to the breath.
With each inhale,
Feel the gentle rise of your belly,
And with each exhale,
Notice the subtle softening,
The way your body yields to the support beneath you.
There is nowhere to be but here,
No time to keep,
Only this moment,
This breath.
As your breath settles into a steady rhythm,
Picture yourself breathing in the fresh morning air,
Just like the trees around you.
With each inhale,
You take in that crisp,
New energy.
With each exhale,
Imagine a gentle breeze moving through the branches,
Helping you release anything you don't need to hold on to.
Now,
In your mind's eye,
Begin to picture yourself lying in a vast,
Open field at dawn.
Earth beneath you is soft and steady,
Just beginning to warm from the first rays of sunlight stretching across the horizon.
Above you,
The sky is shifting from deep blue to a gentle golden hue,
A quiet promise of the new day ahead.
You feel the air around you,
Cool,
Crisp,
Hearing the scent of fresh rain,
And the faint sweetness of blossoms beginning to bloom.
The ground,
Once dormant in the stillness of winter,
Is stirring beneath you,
Tiny roots stretching and reaching,
Awakened by the turning of the seasons.
You are part of this transition.
Just like the earth,
You are softening,
Opening,
Awakening at your own pace.
There is no rush.
The trees don't force their leaves to unfurl.
The flowers don't hurry to bloom.
Everything in nature moves in its own time,
Guided by an innate wisdom,
Just as you are.
Rest here,
Absorbing this moment.
With every inhale,
Draw in the fresh energy of spring,
The quiet hum of renewal.
With every exhale,
Let go of heaviness,
Fatigue,
Or any tension lingering from the season of winter.
If your mind wanders,
Gently bring your awareness back to the steady rhythm of your breath,
The softness of the earth beneath you,
The warmth of the sun rising higher in the sky.
Surrender to this in-between space,
The meeting point of rest and renewal,
Of stillness and awakening.
I invite you to carry this sense of balance with you,
An awareness that even in times of change,
You can return to this steady place within.
The world may speed up,
The days may lengthen,
And you always have the power to pause,
To breathe,
And to honor your own rhythm.
May you move into this new season with ease,
Embracing both momentum and stillness,
Light and rest.
