Welcome to Life,
Lessons and Laughter with your host Glenn Ambrose.
Hello,
Welcome to the show,
This special episode announcing my new project.
Aren't you excited?
I'm super excited.
I'm excited.
So my new project is The Great Love Project.
And you can find it actually at thegreatloveproject.
Com.
How appropriate.
Yes.
So let me explain a little bit what this is about.
The Great Love Project is set in the mentality of expanding what you put energy towards.
So basically the principle behind it is something that's best explained by Mother Teresa's experiences.
So one of her experiences,
Somebody invited her to an anti-war rally and she said she wouldn't go.
But if you invite me to a pro-peace rally,
I'll be the first one there.
So she understood that whatever you put energy towards,
Expands.
So she didn't want to put energy towards war,
Even if it's anti-war,
It's still war.
The energy goes to the topic,
Not if it's an anti-topic.
It still goes to the topic and it expands it.
And I think we can see that with a lot of things we've declared war on.
It just expands the problem.
So with that mentality,
If you want to expand love,
I think a lot of people would agree that we need more love in this world.
So with that mentality,
If we need more love in this world,
We need to put our attention on it.
We need to put our energy towards it.
So this idea is very simple,
That you just take pictures of things that you love,
Yourself with things that you love.
You can even write about things that you love if you don't want to take pictures.
You can take videos and you take it with the logo.
And the logo says,
Share what you love at the Great Love Project.
It's a really cool logo.
It's got a heart in the center with an at symbol.
So it's basically saying,
Share what you love at thegreatloveproject.
Com.
So you take the pictures or whatever you decide to do with what you love and you share it on your favorite social media sites.
There are links to all the different pages right on thegreatloveproject.
Com.
So you can go there and there's links to Facebook and Twitter and Instagram and Pinterest and all that.
You can use whichever one you prefer.
You can use all of them.
And the other thing that we're doing to help link everything together,
Link all this love together so it's all in one place and it's easier to share and see is we're using the hashtag.
So the hashtag is the hashtag,
It's hashtag the great love project.
So that's the other thing.
As far as taking a picture with this stuff,
If you can't print out the picture,
You can just write hashtag the great love project on a piece of paper and hold that up.
Because we're trying to link everybody together in doing this.
So it expands.
The other thing too is I have on the website,
I've got a page where the logo is the whole page.
So you can just hold the logo up on your phone,
You can hold it up on your tablet or computer screen or whatever and have somebody take a picture of you with something you love like that.
There's also a printable at the bottom of that page so you can print out a PDF of the logo and you can have it with you and take pictures wherever you want.
So that's the idea and the movement that we're doing.
How did you come up with that?
Where did this come from?
What inspired this?
The inspiration.
It's awesome when you have the inspiration,
But one thing that I really noticed through this coming into being is when you have inspiration,
The other thing that I got out of it was it really quieted my doubts and my second guessing.
Whenever my mind wanted to come in and second guess whether I should be doing this or if it's a good idea or anything like that,
I remembered how the inspiration came to me.
And it is a cool story so it just was like,
Yeah,
This wasn't inspired by me,
This was inspired by something bigger.
So basically the inspiration came Super Bowl weekend.
So I had watched,
There was a show or this free movie going around on the internet called The Abundance Factor.
And I watched that and it was an inspiring show.
A lot of the lessons I had heard before I had learned,
But they put it together in a really nice way and inspirational way.
And I was a little bit more lifted up than usual,
I'd say.
And that was about it.
I wasn't necessarily going out to find something to do.
I just felt a little bit inspired.
And then Super Bowl Sunday at the end of the halftime show,
They had everybody in the stands hold up different colored signs or something and it spelt out something about love.
And I don't even remember exactly what it was,
But it spelt out something about love and I was like,
Wow,
That's really cool that they're putting attention towards love and they got all those people to do that.
What a nice message to have at the end of a Super Bowl halftime show.
And I really liked it.
And that was the end of it.
I watched the second half of the game and headed off to bed.
And then when I was going to bed,
I just had this thought that I was feeling good.
I was feeling a little inspired.
And I just said a little prayer before I went to bed and I asked if there was something that the universe or God wanted me to do that the information would come while I was sleeping.
Which is kind of out of the ordinary for me.
Some people get information like that all the time.
Generally,
I don't.
So for me to ask was kind of unique.
But then around 4.
30 in the morning,
I woke up and the thoughts were just flowing about this idea.
And I just flipped on the light and I had a sticky notes next to my bed and I just started writing,
Just jotting the ideas down about people taking pictures with things that they love and sharing them and using social media for the greater good.
A lot of people complain about social media,
But it's all in how we use it.
If we use it for the good,
A lot of good can come from it.
So I started jotting down these ideas and then I'd get them all down and then I'd flip the lights off.
And then like 10 seconds later,
More would come and I'd flip the light back on and I'd write more.
I did that like a bunch of times,
I don't know.
And I filled out a bunch of little sticky pads with a bunch of little notes.
And then I finally went back to sleep around 5.
30 and I got up in the morning and I started looking at them and I was like,
Wow,
This could really be something.
Like this is cool.
I like this idea.
And knowing,
To me,
It's just the thoughts kind of came out of the blue in the middle of the night,
Which they don't usually.
And by the way,
I was hoping that the information was going to come like in a dream form so I could get some sleep that night.
And then wake up with all this wonderful knowledge and that's not how it happened.
So I was a little tired,
But I was motivated.
I was excited about the ideas in the project and how much all the pieces,
Like I had gotten a lot of the pieces of this.
Basically the whole idea,
Even,
I think I may have even gotten the idea for the logo,
But I mean I got basically all the pieces just in that one little time period.
And then it was just a matter of putting them together.
When you went back to sleep,
You didn't sleep for very long because mid-morning,
That morning,
You called me and you were like,
Hey,
You got time to talk?
I just had an idea last night and I need to flesh it out.
So I was like,
Yeah,
Hold on.
And I opened up a Word document and you just started talking and I just took down all of the notes.
And I still have that.
I still have that saved on my computer because I had you forward it to me.
And most of it stayed.
It was just improved upon.
Right.
We had to shape it a little bit.
But I mean the main ideas of it were I already had just in that.
And it was cool.
And then,
Like I said,
Every time there's that little,
I think,
Natural second guessing going,
Is this the right thing to do?
Should I be doing this?
It's like,
Oh,
Yeah.
I mean,
It wasn't even my idea to me.
It was just such a good example of inspiration and creativity coming from someplace other than me and coming through.
To me,
It's like a gift.
It's a gift.
So it's like I want to share this with the world and expand it.
It's got beautiful energy behind it.
And the intention is wonderful.
So I'm really looking forward to it blossoming.
The vision is it becoming a worldwide phenomenon where everybody's just doing this.
It's just really a big,
There's nothing but good that can come from it.
What are some things people can take pictures of?
Anything.
Anything they love.
They can take a picture of a pet,
Their child,
The person they're in relationship with,
Their house,
Their car,
Their grass,
Trees,
Mountains,
A lake,
Anything.
There's anything.
Anything that you feel an affinity towards.
Anything that you feel goodness towards.
There's no limit on it.
And the differences in people and the things,
When we get creative with this and take pictures of things that other people weren't thinking of,
That's going to help it expand.
Because somebody,
Let's say somebody lives in the mountains and they've been there so long they don't even remember how beautiful it is to live there.
Then all of a sudden somebody shares a picture with the logo and the mountains.
And it's like,
Oh my god,
I take that for granted.
I really have to appreciate where I live and the beauty in which I live.
So that's part of it too.
As we share what we love,
It's going to spark that love in others and just be like,
Oh yeah,
Or I never thought of that.
Or somebody takes a picture of their front lawn.
Oh,
You know what?
I really like having a nice front lawn and I work hard on it.
And all I do is I get caught up in the working hard on it and I don't really take time to appreciate it.
I really appreciate having a nice lawn.
I really like that.
I love that.
Okay,
Well there you go.
Share that.
So that's the mentality behind it.
It's constantly just sharing,
Just showing,
Just taking the picture is putting energy towards love.
And the other thing is this would be a great practice for someone to do regularly.
Once a day might be excessive,
But once a week.
And it depends on the person.
People on social media do Women Crush Wednesday and Throwback Thursday,
All of that stuff.
What do you love on Sunday?
What do you love Sundays?
But taking a moment to identify something that you love,
Take a picture of it,
Share it,
You're putting a lot of energy towards that.
And if you're doing it once a week,
Then you're taking a moment to reflect and to put energy towards it is the exact right term.
And of course it'll grow.
Of course it'll look like you personally.
Yes,
And it'll affect the community as well.
The global community.
The same way meditation is good for you.
You're taking a moment to express gratitude for something.
And this is like a visual gratitude list.
It's a visual gratitude list.
When you were talking,
That popped in and I was like,
Oh my God,
That's perfect.
It's a visual gratitude list.
How many times have we heard in self-help or self-growth or spiritual circles that something that makes you feel good is to keep a gratitude list?
And often times they say write down three things you're grateful for every night.
That's what this is.
This is a living,
Visual gratitude list.
It's got even more energy than just writing something down.
You have visual proof of it.
And it's got the message attached to it because it's got the great love project on it.
So you're not only helping you,
But you're connecting to others with it.
And the expansion of this is just mind-blowing what can happen.
And I'm really looking forward to seeing that.
It's 51% of the world.
That's my mission statement.
51% of the world sharing what they love to expand the presence of love in the global community.
So 51%,
The reason I chose that is because that's the tipping point.
If you understand vibrational energy and stuff like that,
There's a theory that if we get 51% of the world thinking one way,
That's the tipping point because it's more than 50% and it tips the scales in our favor.
And then the shift,
The global shift happens more quickly after that point.
So if we can get 51% of the world just focused on love instead of hate and the bad things that are going on,
We can tip the scales and really start having a big impact on the global community.
So that's why I picked that number.
What kind of a reception have you gotten from people?
So far it's been awesome.
Seriously.
I haven't talked to that many people about it.
Just because it's one of those,
To me it seems like it's one of those projects where you just have to get it together and go do it.
So I've been focused on that.
I didn't really want to get people too excited about it until it was launched because you get people all revved up.
It's like a horse in the gates.
They can't run anywhere.
They can't do anything with it.
So I waited until I got it up.
But the people I have talked to about it love it.
Especially when they see the logo.
Everybody loves it.
I described it before,
But it's eye-catching.
It's something that as soon as it was finished,
I was like,
Yeah,
I can see this catching on.
I can see this going global.
It's simple.
It's effective.
And it's going to catch people's attention.
As soon as people see the logo,
They're like,
What's that?
If you talk to people about expanding love,
Most people are like,
Well,
Love is good.
This sounds like a good project.
So people get excited in that way.
And then some of the people that I have some friends that aren't on the same spiritual path that I'm on,
So more mainstream.
And even them,
The simplicity of it is what captures them.
People do this on Facebook half the time anyway.
They're taking pictures of things that they love and they're sharing them,
But they're not doing it with the intention of sharing love.
And that's what this helps do.
Putting that logo out there or putting the hashtag out there is that little extra step.
It's simple,
But it's a little extra step that really shows your intention and shapes.
A lot of times we'll take,
Oh,
Isn't that cute?
You take a picture of it,
You share it,
And that's the last you think of it.
It's like,
No,
Wait a minute.
Why did you think that that was cute?
Why did you take that and share it?
Does it make you feel good inside?
Yes.
Are you grateful for it?
So you have a version of love for that thing.
Oh,
Okay.
So it kind of slows us down a little bit in this fast-paced society and just goes,
Let's put an intention behind what I'm sharing.
Instead of just sharing stuff for the sake of sharing it,
Put an intention of spreading love behind what you're sharing.
I've gotten more excited about this since we've been talking about it today.
Yeah,
It's phenomenal.
It's true.
The more you talk about it,
The more exciting it gets.
I'm the same way.
When I get into a conversation about it,
It's like,
Holy crap.
The joy starts bubbling up because of the possibilities of it.
Also,
This is a great time to launch something like this because it's Memorial Day weekend right now.
The summer is starting.
People are getting excited.
People are getting happy about stuff.
People that love the beach.
Go take a picture of the beach.
You're going to take a picture of it anyway.
You're going to take a picture of you at the beach anyway.
People are already doing this.
It's just a matter of sticking a logo out there and putting some intention behind it.
If you're really patriotic,
Tomorrow take a picture of a flag or of a parade if you're going to one.
I think that's really important because I can see people coming up with,
Well,
I don't know if I love that.
I don't know if I'd use the word love.
Really,
Any good feeling that you have is a version of love.
When you get really way down to the core of everything,
There's either love or fear that drives us.
And fear is just a term that we use for absence of love.
But there's basically love or fear that's driving us.
So anything like anger,
Sadness,
Frustration,
Jealousy,
All those things are versions of fear.
Like,
Joy,
Peace,
Happiness,
All those are versions of love.
So we don't have to get too hung up on the word love.
It's just spreading goodness about things that bring you joy and things that make you happy.
That's one thing that I can see some of the people.
I've been in places in my life where I was hurt by situations where I'm like,
Oh well,
Love,
That word's overused and all this stuff.
And you can get very negative about that.
But all it is is just anything that you care about,
Anything that you have an appreciation for,
Anything that brings you joy in your life.
That's all.
That's awesome.
Speaking of that,
I don't really have love quotes or anything.
I could.
This is since it is Memorial Day weekend.
That means that this upcoming week,
The first week of June.
That's because we're recording this ahead of time and you love.
You need to take a picture of you saying Memorial Day weekend because you love it.
You said before we started this that we would pretend like it was actually the day that it's released.
This two weeks ago's episode,
You talked about how you dropped the mic or the mic fell.
You just love pulling back the curtain.
There's no magic in the podcast anymore.
No,
There's only truth.
There's only truth.
Truth is magic.
Anyway,
Yeah,
So the first week of June,
We've known each other for four years now.
Wow,
Really?
Yeah.
Holy cow.
That's crazy,
Right?
It is crazy.
Four years.
Yeah,
2012.
Look at all the changes,
Too.
I don't know.
There's a lot to love.
I don't know that there's been any changes.
Oh,
You are so full of it.
Except we've done 60 episodes of a podcast now.
Yeah,
And you guys have other podcasts that you're doing and you've got this whole business that you didn't have four years ago,
Stuff like that.
You moved into a house and all this stuff.
Yeah,
But nothing really.
No,
Nothing really has changed.
Hey,
You know what?
I'm throwing that back at you.
You've changed a lot,
Too.
Heck yeah,
I have.
Right now,
We're in the Life Enhancement Center,
Which is great.
And that's still going to be separate.
Right.
Yeah,
I'm still going to have.
.
.
The Great Love Project is its own entity.
Yes,
It's its own entity.
And just to help spread the word and not only buy the items,
I'm going to be selling items on the website as well.
So t-shirts.
I'm just starting with t-shirts and bumper stickers and pins to get the word out and help people spread the message.
We're starting with that.
I'm going to expand to other products as well.
But that's what's going to fuel this and keep it going and just really expand the message.
I'm developing goals for this.
And I thought one of the goals that would be neat would be to have some sort of presence at the Super Bowl,
Like a Super Bowl commercial or some sort of presence there in the Super Bowl.
Because that's one of the things that inspired me to do this on Super Bowl Sunday.
And I mean,
How big would that be to take a movement about love that's structured and ties everybody in together and get it onto a stage that's that big?
That might be one goal.
I'm planning on this going worldwide.
So I'm going to keep expanding this as much as possible.
So look for the t-shirts and the bumper stickers and the pins and God only knows what else I'm going to come up with.
Probably a lot.
I can see it's a really cool logo so it's going to fit on everything perfectly.
And we'll do some more podcast episodes in the future about updates,
How it's doing,
What's being done.
And another feature that's on the website,
I believe,
At least it was last time I checked with you,
There will be another area on the website of top posts or favorited posts of the week.
Right.
Yeah,
The plan is to have a best of thing so people can kind of.
.
.
Not even best of,
Because we're not judging.
You're not judging what people share and what they love,
Just highlights of the week.
Yeah,
Just highlights.
And we are planning on having a page on the website that shows all that.
So it's going to be really exciting.
It's very exciting.
And I'm pumped.
I can't wait to see where this goes.
Me either.
Well,
Happy Memorial Day weekend.
Yes.
All right.
Happy May 10th.
Happy future Memorial Day weekend.
And where can people find you personally?
And where can people find The Great Love Project?
Yeah,
I mean,
The Great Love Project has its own website,
Which is thegreatloveproject.
Com.
So that's the best place.
You can always reach me there through email.
But my personal website is also life-enhancement-services.
Com.
You can reach me through there as well.
Also,
There's a Twitter.
Oh,
Yeah.
There's an Instagram.
Snapchat.
Snapchat.
And also there's.
.
.
YouTube.
Some of those things for this show for listeners.
If you listen to this show regularly or this is your first time and you like it,
Give us a like on Facebook.
Follow the Twitter account,
Life Lessons in Laughter.
Or just follow Glenn.
We don't push that usually.
No.
But yeah,
If you want to do that,
You can get updates.
Share your love that way.
Yeah.
Share what you love.
So,
Well,
That's going to do it for this episode.
So thanks everybody.
And I absolutely love.
.
.
I don't really ask people to do things very often.
So I'm going to ask now.
This is a really cool project.
I'm very excited about it.
So please go out there and share what you love.
Go to thegreatloveproject.
Com and share what you love.
Alright,
Thanks for listening everybody.
