Yoga Sutra: 21-22 Seeker With Intense Aspiration Succeeds
by Girish Jha,
Freedom, Happiness, and wisdom. When we learn the principles of eastern wisdom, we apply discernment that becomes dispassion. The highest dispassion leads to knowledge of real self, awakens to permanent happiness. We will learn from Yoga Sutra, Gita, and other texts together to discover the true nature.

By the Patanjali who talks about how to succeed on the path.
So then there are first level of the seekers we discussed.
We discussed who are who are who by birth have those traits in them.
So what are those traits that we are going to talk today?
And yeah,
We also discussed about it by birth.
So there are two types of people by birth whose mind remains calm all the time.
Not affected by the word outside.
And then there are people according to the Eastern wisdom who have done lot of practices in their previous birth.
So their current birth as far as their family,
People are concerned around them are often,
You can say that they offer the conducive conditions and they meet the teacher very early in their stage and they succeed.
But those who are not born with those traits then we have understood.
And then we have understood what is there?
The faith,
Energy,
Right memory,
Right memory,
And the discernment and dispassion in their life.
They always succeed.
So today we are picking up another two more sutras from Patanjali.
So it is beautiful sutra.
It says,
Thirva,
Samvega and Maasanna,
Those who have intense desire to succeed.
But that level of intensity,
That level of intensity of seeking the self-discovery are also categorized by three levels,
Mild,
Medium and intensive.
So now you say you have the intensive desire.
Then how can you divide with the mild,
Medium and intensive to succeed?
So these are the sutras.
So when we open these sutras,
We have to refer either the Upanishad or the other text.
So there is a Upanishad known as Katho Upanishad,
And then you will understand easily.
You can compare your attitude,
Your way of life to find out whether you have that intense level of seeking.
So what he says,
There is a one line phrase,
Again,
The mantra,
Many do not have the opportunity to hear about the real self.
You see that I've been living my life,
Why anxiety,
Stress,
You know,
And then I say stress is a part of the life,
What should I do?
And then you hear,
Oh,
There is a real self that is always free from all kinds of stress,
Pain and suffering and where it is located.
It is located within all of us.
Now you see that what what happens to the mind?
Oh,
There it is.
But now the caveat comes.
Many do not have the opportunity to hear about it.
Even if one hears,
Lacks the ability to understand.
Now he is talking crazy about the real self.
There is no permanent happiness.
You are intelligent,
You are wise,
But still you lacks the ability to understand.
That is why you cannot treat the path.
Now,
Even if you understand,
You lack the patience to practice.
We have been continuing this journey almost Monday and Thursdays.
I think it has been a year now.
So see how many people have come and how people how many people have gone and how many people are still continuing.
You see that as a teacher,
I know it.
So I have nothing.
Okay,
Come and go.
Understand that many do not have the opportunity to hear about this journey means there is a real self.
Even if you hear,
Lacks the ability to understand.
Even if you understand,
You lack the patience to practice.
And even if you have the patience,
You lack the courage to formally be grounded to the practice.
No,
I have to do the practice.
You might have seen your mind.
Oh,
Today I don't feel like doing.
You see,
See the idea,
See the understanding of these Masters.
They have covered almost every aspect of the human mind and the human psychology.
So we know it,
You know,
So when you write to me something,
Oh,
Today,
I am not interested.
Thank you.
It is your mind.
And then,
You know,
Thus only a handful of the people will continue the practice.
It is that ultimate knowledge that you are not a what is the ultimate knowledge?
Master puts it in such a beautiful way that we get inspired.
So what he puts in the Upanishad,
He says,
OK,
You are not a drop in an ocean,
But an ocean in a drop.
Can you understand that you are an ocean in a drop?
Ocean means that you are the real self.
You are full of that inner peace,
Happiness,
Love and the wisdom.
Now see,
A person is suffering a lot,
Blaming and complaining people outside,
Conditioned,
Unfavourable condition.
Now you hear it,
You hear it,
You have an ability to understand and you have a tremendous patience to practice.
Then what happens?
Your life changes.
So who,
Who changed your life?
Not the teacher.
You,
You as a seeker,
You as a seeker.
So let me bring out some of the other understanding from the Gita.
So Gita says one in several thousands of people is keen,
Is interested in the self-discovery.
Among those,
Only a few people knows or wants to treat the path.
Can I force you to treat the path?
Can I put you in the prison?
No,
You have to find yourself.
It will not work.
That is why you have to become a seeker by yourself.
Oh,
Is there a permanent peace in me?
Am I,
Am I full of love within me?
You know,
That comes by understanding,
Doing the practice regularly,
Continuing the journey,
Understanding from the different perspective.
That is what the 3000 text talks about.
Are you getting it?
See that and I'm covering the two sutras.
First sutra says those who have an intense desire.
So it means you hear it,
You understand it,
You have a patience to practice it,
You continue,
You have a commitment,
Not to me,
Not to any teacher,
To yourself.
Because you have to find that permanent peace in you,
In you.
So that is why the Gita says one in several thousands of,
In several thousands of men.
This sutra is Yog Sutra Chapter 1.
Our friend Kate is more academic.
So sutra number is 21 and 22,
First chapter.
So now Krishna,
Krishna is saying several thousands men.
So we don't,
If we lack all those things,
Then hardly a few people can treat the path.
With that reference,
I say that,
You know,
I have been with my master for 26 years until he died daily.
Because it gives you a clarity and understanding and it leads you to that awakening.
Now see there is another couplet in Gita that also makes it clear.
Now we are understanding another level of understanding pertaining to the same sutra.
Nāti ashnataṁ tu yoga,
Meditation or yoga is not for those who eat a lot.
What do you eat is not discussed here.
And I had a Kundalini teacher who had been my student in New Jersey.
Oh,
I have stopped eating steak.
I said very good.
So after two weeks he said,
You know,
I feel very weak.
So I had restarted it.
You need not to get involved in these stuff.
What he says,
Who eat a lot.
Understand that will make another understanding from another verse.
So yoga is or yoga or meditation,
Self discovery is not for those who eat a lot,
Not for those who starve themselves.
No,
What I do,
I have been fasting for 10 years.
It will not work.
I have been overeating.
It will not work.
Forget about it.
Not for those who oversleep.
No,
I cannot.
I know I have to sleep for 10 hours every day.
Work on your life.
Why?
How you sleep?
Do you have a sound sleep?
No,
I don't have a sound sleep.
I only have a sound sleep.
If I sleep for 12 hours and out of 12 hours,
You have four hours of daydreaming.
Another two hours,
You wake up and you keep lying on the bed.
Even the sign says if you are sleeping,
If you claim that you are sleeping for nine hours,
You are only sleeping for three hours.
That is a C.
That is what we say.
There is a non REM sleep.
Six hours is REM sleep.
That is what the science talks about it.
So it means,
Can I reduce those six hours?
So when I say that I sleep for four hours,
It's not a big deal.
You simply drop the REM sleep.
How you drop the REM sleep?
The REM sleep depends on the quantity and the quality of the thoughts that you have in your mind.
If those thoughts are left out,
Three to four hours of sleep is enough.
Are you getting it?
Simple in a scientific way I'm talking about.
So now see that Krishna,
Our crazy originator of yoga has already discussed about it.
Basically this yoga is not for him who eats too much,
Who sleeps too much and who works too much.
Always running,
Overworking.
And I will refer one sutra from even Haryapradipika.
Many of you guys are doing Haryoga.
I will refer the sutras.
Now Krishna says what he says.
What should we do?
I always remember,
What he says,
Moderation,
Balance.
Krishna says,
Yoga is for one who moderately eats.
To don't start thinking moderately eats means you don't have a balanced diet.
You see that moderation in eating,
Moderation in play,
Moderation in sleep,
Moderation in working.
What does that mean for moderation?
Every day when you are eating,
You are aware of what you eat.
Is it a balanced diet?
And then,
Oh no,
I like this too much.
So I start overeating.
Why overeating?
Likes and dislikes.
Overeating,
Desire,
Overeating,
Mind is disturbed.
See that.
So what he's saying,
Yukta har vihara asya,
Yukta che stasyakkarmasu.
Even in doing activities,
Physical or mental activities,
I should have a moderation.
And moderation,
Yukta har vihara asya,
Moderation in diet,
Moderation in sleep also,
Moderation in sleep.
You are vigilant.
You know about secret services,
They are always resilient.
So our mind should be vigilant.
Am I doing more over?
Am I doing under?
No,
It should be balanced.
What is the meaning of balance?
It's a long journey,
But I'm just giving you one example of eating.
Moderation in eating.
So you are eating every day and what happens?
You start feeling sleepy,
Lethargic after eating.
It's not moderation.
So any eating,
Any food,
Any eating,
I'm not saying items of the food,
You are vegan or otherwise.
You are eating,
You remain full of energy.
You are not falling into sleep.
Letharginess,
Sleepiness.
That is one way to understand that moderation.
How it comes?
Every day you are aware of what you are doing in terms of the eating and sleeping and working.
So only who succeeds,
Who lives in moderation in all their activities.
Yukta,
The word yukta means that.
Now I have told you that where it is written in hatha yoga.
We are,
No,
No,
Majority of them are teachers,
You know,
Hatha yoga teacher.
So in a hatha yoga text,
It says,
Akya haro,
Prayasas cho,
Prajallappu,
Niyamagrah.
I always remember this verse,
Jana sanghas chalal yam chal,
Asadibhir yoga,
Vinasyati.
How we destroy yoga in our life.
There are six factors.
This is what is talked about hatha yoga.
Perhaps it is in the chapter one and the verse is perhaps 16 or 15.
So what he says,
What are the six factors?
They talk in a different way,
Different expression,
But it is the same.
Akyahara,
Eating too much.
First barrier,
Second barrier,
Over physical exertion.
I do headstand posture for three hours to succeed in meditation.
Why when the God in existence has given a two feet to walk on,
Why headstand?
Now today I will going to teach you headstand.
I have been doing it for 10 years and some of my brain's nerves have oversupplied blood supply and I cannot express myself clearly.
I have seen lot of people in India and also here.
So over physical exertion to third is engaging my mind in too much of gossip.
Normally we sit for a drink and then we start gossiping.
So gossiping takes your mind away from the real self.
What do we gossip?
Gossip about the world outside.
Why don't you gossip about the real self?
Third problem,
According to hatha yoga,
Binding oneself with too many rules and regulations.
I am vegan.
Okay,
That's all.
Take in moderation.
I have stopped eating flesh I don't like because I don't want to commit violence.
The violence through the mind that you commit is more serious than this physical.
So we bind ourselves with too many rules.
Those people will not succeed.
Moderation,
Understand that moderation.
What we are talking there are the 21 and 22 sutras.
He says intense desire for freedom,
Intense desire to discover the real self,
Intense desire to discover the permanent peace and happiness,
Love and wisdom.
So we have understood the first part hearing,
Then lack of understanding,
Then having patience to practice,
Then commitment and sincerity.
If we have all those traits,
Then we will succeed.
I think Jerry and David and perhaps Stephen joined late last year.
And Lara,
We know how many people have joined and how many people have left.
Should I tell,
Should I blame them?
No.
After one year,
I'm talking about this.
That is the way we have to understand and the being in a company of the people who always talk of unnecessary,
Unwanted things.
We find those people.
We find those people.
You have to be with them if it demands,
But keep your mind aware and alert and no fickleness of the mind.
So these are the six obstacles that will fail you in any meditation.
You may be doing meditation with a great teacher or a crazy teacher.
It doesn't make any difference.
I have you change your lifestyle.
I love this,
I learned this almost 40 years back.
I force myself,
No,
I follow this rule.
I will sleep at 10,
But I'm not getting a sleep.
Practice meditation.
We force ourselves,
It's unnecessary.
So what will happen?
It will result into any form of anxiety.
Gradually it takes time to allow the mind to set a Jana Sanghasya Parlalamcha Shari Bhiri Yogu Vineshya Ting.
You got it,
You understand it.
It's a beautiful verse from the Gita.
I heard it.
Okay,
He's talking crazy.
You know who who doesn't live in stress in this world?
So I lack understanding.
You find a lot of people,
You say come and join.
It's okay.
I'm happy.
Eat,
Drink and marry.
You see that?
How deeper understanding these masters have.
So it means in those days also,
People have the same temperament which we have now.
Now see,
See the entire perspective.
They have the same understanding and those masters have examined and observed and understood and they have passed on this wisdom.
So ask yourself,
Have I heard today?
Yes.
From this beard guy.
Yes,
I heard it.
And did I understand it?
Yes,
I understood it.
And after understanding M is the mind says I will be committed to the practice.
Yes.
Do I have a patience?
Do I have a sincerity?
Did I practice daily in the last week?
Did I do the practice every day?
I'm sending you those files to do the practice.
Did you listen to it?
You see everything now falls on you.
I'm always free.
So let us start our practice.
Close your eyes.
Close your eyes.
Close your eyes.
And yes,
New people have joined.
So I'll modify the practice a little bit.
So eyes are closed.
You are looking at the body,
But those who have been doing the practice,
It will not affect them.
They know.
So we are looking for the sense of steadiness in the body from the top of the head to the toes.
Very good.
And then looking inside the head,
You simply look inside the head in the space,
In the space.
In the darkness,
Being comfortable,
Looking at the neck joint,
Who is looking the mind and you should have a patience,
You should have an understanding,
You should have a sincerity.
It is not physical.
It is in the mind.
See that?
So looking at the neck joint,
Being comfortable,
Feeling sensation,
Comfortable and steadiness.
So look at the shoulder joints being there.
So what I said being there,
Mind is there on the shoulder joints and you feel the sensation,
Being comfortable and steadiness.
The entire body,
You're looking at the entire body,
You're feeling the sensation,
You're feeling the sensation and you are.
.
.
There is a sense of steadiness there.
Another point that will keep the mind living within,
The step is known as being carefree.
So being carefree means what?
The space is carefree even if the birds are flying in the sky or not.
We have a mental space inside.
It remains unaffected with any number of thought entering into the mind.
And what should I do?
I do nothing.
I become aware the thoughts are coming and going,
Staying and leaving.
It has nothing to do with the mental space.
Or we can simply understand.
You are standing across the road and watching the traffic.
So traffic is moving on the road.
You are standing across.
You are separate.
Same way,
Deep inside the mind,
That space is separate from all the thoughts and the feeling and the past and the future.
What should I do?
I have to simply understand and remain aware.
Look at the teachings of our great masters.
Now with that,
We will come to Niyasa.
Niyasa means,
Niyasa practice means all round purification.
First,
Point of this Niyasa,
Start breathing little deep,
Silent and slow.
You know,
Do you remember that I made it very clear?
You should not be very deep breath.
It should not be very short breath.
What reminds you?
Moderation.
First point of awareness.
So your breath is the car.
Mind is the driver.
And where is the highway?
The highway is inside the body.
So as you inhale,
Move the mind inside the right arm from the shoulder to the fingertips where in the space inside the right arm.
As you exhale,
Mind moves from the fingertips to the shoulder.
So for those who have joined the practice today,
But other people can add on or you can also add on what it means.
Singing as you inhale,
The mind is moving inside the right arm in the space with the singing in your mind.
Reaching to the fingertips.
And as you exhale,
Moving the mind from the fingertips to the shoulder where in the space in the emptiness.
What will happen when you are following that moderation?
The body will remain steady completely naturally.
It is a natural state of steadiness.
Reaching to the fingertips,
Moving the mind inside the left arm in the same way.
There are four points of awareness.
If you don't remember,
I'll repeat it.
First point of awareness,
Deep silence,
Low breath.
Second point of awareness,
The mind moving inside with the breath in the left arm.
Third point of awareness on the highway in the emptiness.
Fourth point of awareness,
You are singing and listening.
How simple it is.
So when you find it is so simple,
It is so easy.
The mind says,
I like to do more.
You have followed today's talk with clarity.
Result is here and now.
Now moving the mind in the same way inside your right leg from the right side of the waist to the toes,
Singing Aum on the highway.
You see as you deepen the practice,
I as a teacher go too far from you.
It happens simultaneously.
So you are listening to me just for the sake of reference.
It is not so important,
The knowledge,
Practice are more important.
Now inside the left leg in the same way,
You simply change your point of awareness from the right to the left leg.
As you inhale,
The mind is moving inside on the highway with singing Aum,
Mentally singing and listening.
So that understanding that Aum is my real self in a symbolic way,
It is a name.
Simple nothing to do with the Curled Dogma belief.
Continue the journey.
Satay,
I appreciate you all,
Aum,
To those I am watching.
And now inside the spine as you inhale,
The mind moves from the crown of the head in the spine to the tailbone and from the tailbone to the crown of the head.
You become your own teacher and the more and more you become your own teacher,
It takes you to deepening the experience.
And when it deepens the experience,
It reveals the knowledge within you.
When it reveals the knowledge within you,
Then only you are capable of teaching others.
Say you are not a teacher,
Then what?
After all,
You are living a family life,
Professional life,
Social life,
It will work there.
That is the beauty of this journey.
And now leave this also,
We will directly go to the mantra.
So singing and listening is the stage one.
First line,
Sarvesham Swastivabhatu,
You are singing and listening in your mind.
You are singing and you are listening to what you are singing.
Sarvesham Swastivabhatu,
Sarvesham Swastivabhatu.
Now what is the meaning of Swaster?
May there be well-being for all.
What does that mean?
We will pick up in the third stage.
Simply understand,
May there be a well-being for all.
Sarvesham Swastivabhatu,
You are singing and listening mentally.
Sarvesham Swastivabhatu,
Sarvesham Swastivabhatu.
Sarvesham Swastivabhatu,
Sarvesham Swastivabhatu,
Sarvesham Swastivabhatu.
Now singing,
Listening,
Meaning and the applied knowledge.
What should be the applied knowledge?
Let me give you a new perspective.
When we say may there be well-being for all,
What it means?
It means the well-being,
The state of the mind and the consciousness is present everywhere.
I am a limited human being,
How can I take that well-being everywhere?
Oh,
It's already there.
Sarvesham Swastivabhatu,
Sarvesham Swastivabhatu.
See that.
So what is happening?
In practice you are recognizing it is already there.
I am not able to understand,
I am not able to see it is within me,
It is within every being.
Sarvesham Swastivabhatu,
Sarvesham Swastivabhatu,
Sarvesham Swastivabhatu,
Sarvesham Swastivabhatu.
You know this understanding just revealed.
So everything is natural in the life of a teacher and also the seeker.
Second stage,
Second mantra,
First stage.
Singing and listening.
Sarvesham Swastivabhatu,
Sarvesham Swastivabhatu,
Sarvesham Swastivabhatu.
Is our mind receptive?
Is it ready to understand the meaning of this mantra?
May there be peace everywhere in everyone.
Is it difficult to understand?
This is only a mantra.
Sarvesham,
Swastivabhatu,
Sarvesham,
Swastivabhatu,
Sarvesham,
Swastivabhatu,
Sarvesham,
Swastivabhatu,
Sarvesham,
Swastivabhatu,
Sarvesham,
Swastivabhatu,
Sarvesham,
Swastivabhatu,
Sarvesham,
Swastivabhatu,
And now in the third stage,
Singing,
Listening,
Meaning in the applied knowledge,
Take the same understanding.
What is that understanding?
How can I take this peace everywhere?
I'm limited by the body.
No means what?
This is always everywhere at all times.
Question is,
Do I know it?
S rapida del mia pi?
Shanti to Sir Visha Shanti to This mind is hammered again with these principle listening to the teacher that is why the first step is known as listening listening and understanding not listening blindly So one day what happened?
Mind says yes there is a space which is infinite so the peace is also infinite It takes time First days third mantra Sir Visha Purnam Bhavatu Sir Visha You are singing listening mentally Sir Visha Purnam Bhavatu Sir Visha Purnam Bhavatu And what a beautiful meaning Meaning Purnam Bhavatu May there be completeness in all I will again explain with the same reference of today's talk Let us singing listening and meaning Sir Visha Purnam Bhavatu The mind lives with the meaning I am Purnam,
I am complete Then will the mind go outside?
No Sir Visha Purnam Bhavatu Sir Visha Purnam Bhavatu Sir Visha Purnam Bhavatu Sir Visha Purnam Bhavatu Sir Visha Purnam Bhavatu And what is the knowledge?
Applied knowledge I am complete in myself I am just giving you one reference That just struck to my crazy mind I am complete in myself That struck to my crazy mind If I am here and now in this session and if I am not there I mean to say anywhere then I am not complete Complete means everywhere Sir Visha Purnam Bhavatu Sir Visha Purnam Bhavatu Your mind moves with the humility Aha!
I am everywhere Sir Visha Purnam Bhavatu Sir Visha Purnam Bhavatu Sir Visha Purnam Sir Visha Purnam Bhavatu Sir Visha Purnam Bhavatu You know that knowledge reveals in meditation That is the goal of meditation So your honey is angry But still you see the sense of completeness in him or her Oh!
That is it Now the fourth mantra Singing and listening Sir Visha Mangalam Bhavatu Sir Visha Mangalam Bhavatu Sir Visha Mangalam Bhavatu Sir Visha Mangalam Bhavatu And meaning Auspiciousness Auspicious Mangalam Let your mind reveal the meaning by itself Sir Visha Mangalam Sir Visha Mangalam Bhavatu Sir Visha Mangalam Bhavatu Sir Visha Mangalam Bhavatu Sir Visha Mangalam Bhavatu Sir Visha Mangalam applied knowledge or speciousness means moment to moment.
So I live from take this one moment as an hour so one moment I was in the state of well-being peace and completeness next moment same thing third moment same thing 24 hours same what happened now the meditation follows you sir we shall have a to serve a show of love to serve a show of love to serve a show of love to serve a sham and galam have a to serve a sham and galam have a to mentally shanti to the causal body shanti first shanti to that ignorance or the darkness inside that we see second shanti to the mind third shanti to the body in the world you're singing in a way shanti shanti shanti it is also in a one text I don't remember but my master used to say you see that you instantly remember naturally master used to say you are chanting om shanti shanti mantra loudly thousand times better is the mental chanting thousand times better is the mental chanting and listening to it thousand times greater or better go on continue chanting means singing listening meaning and the flight not in thousand times better when you are simply aware of the mantra non-verbal awareness do you still remember I said vigilance and you are there I get more joy when you live in that state that is how the teachers of the Eastern wisdom continue you're doing it mentally and you are doing the practice with all the attributes that we just discussed you become a seeker behind and the practice brings the reserve then what happens when you become a perfect teacher to yourself you simply hear from somewhere you remember umsha and the mind sits there where you know what I'm talking about do nothing remain as you are live into that state of doing nothing now do you understand what I always say it's a non-verbal means transcending the mind another way understanding we are progressing what a beautiful and seeing those were who allowed me to see it is always good to be in the state of doing nothing why the main goal of meditation is to reveal the knowledge of reality and where is the reality within us everywhere the first we have to reveal the knowledge of the reality the real self within us and then it are naturally brings forth shanti shantih shanti shanti shanti shanti shanti Shanti Shanti Shanti Bring your mind to the right hand,
Your mind to the left hand,
Lift your both of arms,
Place it on your closed eyes,
Open the eyes inside,
Bring the hands down,
Know your experiences and bring the hands down.
How are you?
David and Jerry.
Very,
Very,
Very deep.
Going through the mantras,
I could hear all the words,
But I feel like I just woke up from a 12 hour REM sleep.
Yeah,
What a beautiful,
That's a beautiful expression.
That's a beautiful expression.
And how are you,
Jerry?
The meditation is quiet from beginning to end,
And I guess you do seem further and further away as the meditation goes on.
A little bit of light,
A little bit of white light,
But really quiet.
Really quiet,
Beautiful.
Thank you.
Do you see that those who have been attending the session regularly,
Now you guys do not talk of the lot of experience.
Oh,
I had a lot of vision and colours.
What a great experience.
It is more of a settling down,
You see,
And I'm reminding you.
It is more of a settling down.
So before I ask anyone,
I still my mind is pushing me to explain that.
What happened,
The Buddha was sitting.
You understand,
You know,
You pronounce differently.
Buddha was sitting and one guy came and he spitted on his face.
So there was his cousin who was,
Who stood up and who wanted to catch hold of the neck of this guy who spitted on Buddha.
Buddha said,
Hold on,
He spitted on me,
Not on you.
I'll take care of it.
And then he left.
Next day,
He came back again.
And then he now he prostrated and touched the feet of the Buddha asking forgiveness.
I'm explaining the meaning of the mantra by this example,
By this parable.
So Buddha smiled.
Why you are asking forgiveness?
No,
I spitted on your face yesterday.
He said yesterday is gone.
You are not the same guy who spitted on me.
Now you are totally different.
You're a different guy.
Do you understand that?
I have an anxiety.
Sarvesham shantir bhavatuh.
Now I'm a different guy.
Can I do that in my daily life?
Mentally.
Someone is hurting you and you are doing it.
You need not to do it loudly.
Otherwise,
The other guy will become more angry.
That is how I use Stephen.
I'm good.
Very good.
A very quiet,
Peaceful,
Dark meditation.
No thoughts.
No thoughts.
Good.
I could have kept going.
That's really good.
That's another indicator of success in meditation.
How are you,
Sam?
I had a good experience as well.
Settled down.
Quiet,
No thoughts.
Yes,
That's really good.
You look at these young guys,
If they remain in that state of the calmness and peace.
Now,
I'm not hurting you guys.
I'm saying everyone is young.
You see,
The younger generation,
If they start doing it,
What will be the future of their life and the family in the nation?
That is the message our masters used to give.
How are you,
Terry?
My friend.
Good.
I had a few things happening.
I had a lot of thoughts that they were all about the principles.
That's good?
But my eyes kept opening,
Because I was also having,
Struggling with my breathing.
So I just was not,
I was just working.
Yeah,
Yeah.
Continue working,
Terry.
That is what we have to do.
Continue the practice.
And one day when you touch the highest consciousness and body will stop doing what it is doing now.
That is your goal.
Beautiful.
How are you,
Christina?
Oh,
Okay.
Yes,
Yes,
Yes,
Okay.
I just want to make sure Terry was done.
Today was wonderful.
I really,
I never really felt any opening.
I usually felt more,
Felt like heaviness or anything.
But once you started the first mantra and started saying something,
I was off and then I heard you say something about well-being.
And all of a sudden my throat just like totally opened up.
And like I just felt like my throat was totally open and well-being was just,
Just totally resonated with me.
And that just like tuned me in.
So that's my takeaway.
That's really great.
You don't have any problem.
No.
Yes.
Keep that thought in your mind.
Keep that thought in your mind with an experience that you have today.
Yes.
We don't talk of anxiety management.
We don't talk of the stress management.
You see that?
That is the real journey of the Eastern wisdom.
We try to fit these knowledge into the scientific fold.
And there we are doing injustice to this Eastern wisdom.
So it doesn't mean that we should not talk of the science.
Yes.
How are you Lara?
I am good.
I actually,
Before we even started,
I was,
Before we even started,
Got on this call,
I was chanting the,
I was doing it around our house.
And so that was kind of fun this morning.
And today I,
It was like,
I felt lighter and more spacious,
But I was present the entire time.
And it drifted off like I sometimes do.
It's a deeper.
It's a deeper.
Yeah.
How are you my friend Kate?
Who is there on the phone?
I don't know.
That's Leslie.
Oh,
Leslie.
Okay.
I'm good.
You're good.
Lots of stillness.
And something I'm still kind of processing,
Which I'll share with you later.
Yeah,
Yeah,
Yeah.
It's good.
It's good.
Continue,
Continue the journey.
How are you John?
This is your first session.
Don't believe them.
One,
One.
Yeah,
Yeah.
Go ahead,
Correct Kate.
Yeah.
Go ahead,
Kate.
Oh,
One thing that didn't happen was I do,
So I connected my breath.
Like I said,
It's hard to communicate.
So my breath and air was one,
Does that make sense?
In other words,
While breathing,
I lost,
Or I dropped,
Almost like dropping to ashes and then my breath.
So here the practice of Jnasa is with the four point of awareness.
We should not drift to another point.
So we should stick to the four point awareness,
The breath deep,
Silent and slow.
Second is the mind is moving with the breath inside.
Third is the highway and the space and the fourth is on.
So because when we start,
When we start intellectualizing,
That means the breath is the air.
Yes,
It is the air,
But I have not to do as long as when I'm doing the practice.
You see that point.
That is what is more important.
Yes,
That is good.
That is good.
How are you,
John?
This is your first time.
Don't believe those people who have narrated their experience.
They may be totally wrong.
Well,
My experience,
You know,
Is very much in my body.
So,
You know,
I'm moving my awareness with the breath.
But,
You know,
And finding stability there.
But that's what the experience is.
Yeah,
Yeah,
Yeah.
It's the beginning.
It is the first time.
No problem.
But still it calmed down.
You did not move the body during the practice.
So that too is a good thing.
I will try to find the stability first.
Stability,
Yeah.
How are you,
My friend Brandy?
Hi,
Garesh,
I'm good.
This is my first session too,
Like John.
And I have a really busy mind and it got mostly quiet.
So I call this,
You know,
A good first run.
I feel calm and here.
Calm,
That's good.
That's really good.
That's a good beginning.
How are you,
Leslie?
Good morning.
You know how I love these check-ins.
You love check-ins?
I'm fine.
My body,
I did get a lot of heat in my body during this.
And my little monkey mind was,
You know,
On the playground.
But I was able to,
You know,
But I'm pretty good at being able to bring that back to center.
And then I was intellectualizing a lot,
Wondering what exactly the causal body is.
So I spent a little time trying to investigate that as well.
Yes,
Yes.
You see that?
That's my experience.
Beautiful.
That's a beautiful experience.
One point of understanding,
The moment your mind says,
I have to figure out what is causal body.
So this question is asked by the causal body.
Think of it.
You have any question?
We will understand that.
Any question?
I don't.
I just want to say something really quick.
So there's a lot of new people.
We just began a teacher training program in Goresha is a huge part of our teacher training program.
We're offering sessions for everybody on Saturday afternoons from 11 to 30.
There is half hour break.
And then also on Sunday morning,
Actually,
I'm sorry,
The Saturday sessions just go for the next two weekends.
And then on Sundays,
We'll be meeting from seven to 10.
There are some breaks in between.
There's a session really from seven to nine thirty or seven to nine to get a half hour break in the nine thirty to ten thirty.
And we're studying the sutras and the Gita.
If you're interested,
Go on the O Three Yoga website or you can just reach out to me and I will hook you up.
Thank you.
