Millennials,
I hate to break it to you,
But you're no longer cool.
According to Gen Z,
That is.
Are Millennials actually the next Boomers?
How's my grandma?
Oh,
She's super.
We're just enjoying some arts and crafts time right now.
Grandma's quite a quilter.
Welcome to the Gen XYZ podcast experience with your host,
Jaren the Disney.
This is a video of a generation that built a lot,
But also damaged pretty much everything in the world.
I don't really have too many Boomers who follow my channel,
But if you are a Boomer listening to this,
Feel free to apologize in the comments.
Millennials have been talking about that for quite a while now,
And I think as a Millennial myself,
I have the perspective that we played a big part in starting to bring awareness to a lot of issues such as sustainability and happiness.
Happiness being a very important aspect of our lives and what we're seeking in the Millennial generation.
In fact,
Remember there was even a song called Pursuit of Happiness by Kid Cudi?
But Gen Z takes a different look on these things.
In fact,
A recent report asked,
Which is most important to Gen Z?
Financial stability or doing something you enjoy?
And surprisingly,
66% of Gen Z respondents said that they would prefer financial stability over doing something you enjoy.
This is quite the opposite from Millennials,
And it's just one of many ways that Gen Z differs from Millennials,
And we need to start really understanding this.
Most older people right now have a tendency to bucket both into one group.
Young crazy people,
I guess.
But what we're starting to see is that Gen Z has so many differences from Millennials that we really need to start over from scratch and really hear them out.
What's concerning to me as a Millennial is that I notice that Millennials talk about caring,
About the environment,
And all these other issues that we've been bringing up for a while now.
But in the end,
We have a tendency to make the easy choice still.
A very,
Very boomer trait,
Unfortunately.
This shit is not cool.
Gen Z is the complete opposite.
Zoomers are actively in the streets rioting for change right now.
So if you want a demonstration of what they're capable of,
There you go.
What we have to keep in mind is that Gen Z,
People who were born after 1996,
Are so much more clever and aware of how the internet works.
And I see this in my own online marketing that I do.
In fact,
I always prefer to market to Boomers,
Specifically in older people first,
And then start going down the age group because you can get away with a little bit more with marketing to some of those older groups.
A lot of them don't recognize the story that is often completely manufactured by brands who market to them online.
Zoomers,
Not so much.
Your social media has to be real.
Your company has to be real.
Now Millennials fall somewhere in between,
Unfortunately.
I have to say that even though a lot of us do understand what fake news is,
My Facebook feed proves that many do not.
And that really gets into the Boomer-esque quality that the Millennial generation has,
Especially in the eyes of Gen Z.
Zoomers look at Millennials as kind of like the kids with promise who never did anything about it.
In some ways,
I think that Millennials are succumbing to the hardships of living now through two recessions.
I mean,
We're entering one that's going to be bigger than the last one.
And a lot of people are tired.
And I want to be the first to say to my Millennial listeners out there that you still have a chance to achieve your dreams.
And in fact,
You have a better chance now than ever because you bring the wisdom of all of your 20s with you.
That's certainly been my experience with the businesses I'm starting now.
It was so much harder starting a business back in my 20s.
I found that 90% of my time was wasted.
So even though in your 20s you do have a lot more energy than in your 30s,
If you just account for the fact that you're going to avoid 90% of the time that would have been wasted,
You can see that you actually come out on top.
So that's my message to Millennials here is don't be a Boomer.
Start to find your second breath.
And on top of that,
Look for ways to follow through on some of the promises our generation set out to make.
One way to do that is to really start listening to Zoomers and team up with them,
Partner with them in any way you can.
If you're in business,
Start to employ them.
I know that that's rather hard for some of you out there right now since we're entering a great depression.
But for those of you who can do it,
Please do because it'll put you ahead.
Plus it'll help you stay on top of all the latest dank memes and TikTok dances.
Wait,
It's all Ohio?
Always has been.
Millennials,
Now is the time to make a decision.
Are we going to let our generation fall back into the patterns that we've been complaining about for more than a decade?
Or are we going to look to the Zoomers and the energy that they're bringing right now and use that to inspire us to actually create the change that we want to see in the world?
I know my answer.
I want to see that change.
And I hope you do too.
In fact,
If you've been listening this long,
I can't imagine it would be otherwise.
So if you found this video inspiring,
Thought-provoking,
Please share it on Facebook because we're millennials and we still use it.
And finally,
Let me know down in the comments if you agree.
Does Gen Z think that millennials are the next boomers?
What do you think?
Well,
Until next time,
Stay visionary my friend.
Wait,
It's all Walter?
Always has been.
It's all McChicken?
Always has been.
Always has been.
