My name is Gerald Blomion and I've wrote and recorded this podcast meditation for you.

Enjoy.

Our true nature is love.

We know we are loving,

Interconnected beings.

However,

Usually at an early age something happened that caused us to feel inadequate and lonely.

It separated us from the truth of who we really are.

As a result we felt and feel fearful.

We experience ourselves as separate and incomplete entities.

Judgment created this place of separateness,

Vulnerability and attack.

It cut us off from love by using simple concepts like right and wrong,

Good or bad,

Should or shouldn't,

Responsible or irresponsible.

Worrying,

Suffering and unhappiness come from not wanting things to be the way they are.

Combined with our wants and desires they divert us from truly listening and peace of mind eludes us.

We long to feel better,

Long to feel whole.

However,

The path to healing requires us to feel the discomfort.

We might gossip about others or judge ourselves if we're too scared to go there.

Feeling like a victim might seem safer than facing our pain and suffering.

The repetition of judgment forms habits.

Even if we dislike our self-criticism we find it difficult to give up.

It can even become addictive.

Being judgmental offers us something to hold on to.

However,

It prevents us from trusting and having self-confidence.

In an effort to end our suffering we project our judgmental thinking outwards,

Repressing our feelings that way.

Distance hardens the heart,

Making suffering inevitable.

Separation starts with naming and labeling.

They allow us to see things as distinct objects.

This is my body,

My mind,

A flower,

A river,

A cloud,

A sunset.

However,

By naming it we no longer can see their impermanence.

Everything is a process that comes to an end.

The body and the self we had when we were a baby or a teenager have gone.

The cloud that was just there has disappeared.

The sunset turned into night.

Everything disappears without leaving a trace.

By believing the false projections of ourselves and others we create and live in a world of separation.

When distance is closed something profound happens.

We realize that it is ignorance that creates distance.

This insight allows us to open our hearts and feel with others.

Realizing that self and others are not too,

Compassion naturally results.

The first and fundamental step to surrender is to allow ourselves not to know.

And by thinking,

I don't know,

We allow ourselves to become humble,

Grateful and compassionate.

By knowing nothing we can discover a deeper inner wisdom.

Surrendering to love means accepting and trusting what is.

We accept who and what we are with all the rough and unpolished edges.

By letting go of our preconceived ideas,

Expectations and fears we allow ourselves to be disappointed.

This is very challenging.

Surrendering doesn't mean we will land softly,

But that we're open to land on a hard,

Ordinary ground.

By being vulnerable we can see our expectations that are clouding the reality of the situations we face.

We can understand where another person is coming from and can inhabit their world.

Being free of expectations means being free of fear and hate.

When forgiveness and gratefulness arise naturally,

It is impossible to hate.

We realize that whenever we hate someone,

We are really hating ourselves.

How can we let go of our habitual thinking to experience presence,

Love,

Spacious awareness?

We relax our bodies.

We let our eyes soften and the jaw and shoulders.

We relax our minds.

There is nothing to achieve,

Nowhere to go.

There is nothing to do.

There is neither right nor wrong,

Good nor bad.

We experience whatever is here without interpreting it.

By becoming still we can become aware of our true and conscious nature.

It is always here and always complete.

We are the awareness that knows what is happening right now.

Be awake and aware without interpreting.

Again,

Let your eyes and face soften.

Without effort,

See with a wide and open focus.

Without effort,

Listen to the stillness in which sounds arise.

Without effort,

Notice your body breathing by itself.

Without effort,

Notice your abdomen rising and falling naturally.

Without effort,

Rest in the present moment.

Welcome everything that appears to the mind and then disappears without leaving a trace.

Let it be as it is.

Be aware that the quality of knowing is effortless and always present.

There is nothing to control,

Nothing to understand,

Nothing to judge.

Notice the freedom and how things find their own players.

There is nothing special to experience.

Everything is welcome.

Relax into this open,

Effortless silence.

Surrendering to love leads to a simpler life than the one in which we constantly crave,

Desire and strive.

Trust and open up completely.

We are spacious awareness and our true nature is love.

Experience peace in the presence of love.

This presence is our true home.
