During CoVid-19, many of us have experienced the pain of loss. It may be the severe loss of a parent, a spouse, or even a child. Sometimes a loss can be more subtle but just as overwhelming. It may be the passing of a friend, a neighbor, or even a pet. And then there is losing a job or a business. All of these can be devastating as we try to emerge into the world after our isolation.

Take a comfortable seat.

You could be sitting or lying down.

Today,

We're going to talk about something that is kind of difficult and talk about grief.

The last couple of months,

There's been a lot of losses for a lot of different people.

Some people may have lost a parent,

Even a child,

Or someone they love,

Or a pet that they love.

That's on through all kinds of hard times,

The good times,

The bad times.

So we're going to breathe into that,

Into that loss,

And take it in that breath,

Inviting it in to our heart,

And breathe out.

Breathing in,

Feel the memory of that person or that pet,

Whatever it is that you love,

That you lost,

Just bring it into your heart and let it go.

As you breathe in,

Feel your breath coming in and your heart open,

But protected,

Protected in this body that you have,

Almost like armor that you've been carrying around,

This grief,

Not letting anything or anyone come in.

And then all of a sudden,

You'll be overwhelmed,

Always at a time that's really unexpected,

And you just can't help yourself.

Those moments are just a breakthrough to acknowledge just how deeply we feel.

So breathe into that feeling and feel yourself held,

Like your heart is surrounded with the love of that person,

That being that loved you.

Feel the love as you breathe in,

Remember all the good things,

The things that they inspired in you,

And it's okay to miss them.

Feel that it's okay to feel this deeply,

This much.

You may feel like your heart's going to break at times,

But just allow a little breath in so you can feel that expansion.

Feel just how much you love and how much you were loved,

And let it go.

You let it go and another breath gets invited in,

Letting go of the tension,

The gripping,

The holding and feeling that joy,

The love that you were given by that being.

Allow yourself to be present.

You don't have to stuff it down.

You can feel yourself held in this love and it's okay.

Breathing in all the things about them,

Maybe even their scent.

Take it in,

Hold it,

And then let that sorrow get transformed into love and gratitude,

That you had this opportunity to share time with that special one.

As you're breathing in and out,

You realize you're going to come back to the world and maybe you're not ready,

But just breathe in and out and realize everybody's carrying a loss with them at this time.

Maybe it's a loss of a job,

Not anything like a person,

Or maybe it is a person,

Someone they worked with,

Their best friend,

Things that you just can't get over that easy,

A loss of income,

A loss of plans.

Your dreams seem to float away,

But we got to be in the present and be grateful for all the opportunities we have to share our love as it was shown to us.

So breathe in and give thanks for the opportunity to spend some time,

A reflection of this great gift.

Course it hurts,

Loss always hurts,

Grief is unexpected,

But remember the love,

Take that with you,

Take that with you as you go back into the world and realize you're not the only one and not alone.

So breathe in and come back to your body,

Feeling your body a little more accepting.

As you breathe in,

Feel a slight smile inside.

Feel the joy,

Feel the laughter of that other one.

Take it with you.

Breathe in,

Feel yourself coming back,

Wiggle your toes,

Glad you have toes,

Wiggle your fingers,

Give yourself a little smile.

And remember,

Be safe,

Know you're deeply loved and that you deeply loved and it's good.

Namaste.
