Hi,
And welcome back to the Synergy Sessions.
I'm Georgia Clare,
And today we're diving into something that so many of us wonder about,
But don't always know how to trust – our intuition.
This episode was inspired by a recent article I wrote called Should You Trust Your Intuition,
Where I shared some personal stories and reflections on what it means to really listen to that inner voice.
Alright,
Let's talk about intuition – what it is,
How it shows up,
And whether or not we should trust it.
Intuition is that inner nudge,
That quiet knowing that often comes without logic or reason.
It's the feeling you get when something just feels right,
Or just as important when something feels off.
It's subtle and it doesn't shout.
Some describe intuition as the voice of the soul or inner wisdom.
Others think of it as the subconscious mind collecting signals our conscious mind can't yet process.
Albert Einstein said,
The intuitive mind is a sacred gift,
And the rational mind is a faithful servant.
But in today's world we often reverse that balance,
Dismissing intuition in favour of facts and logic.
The trouble is,
When we get too caught up in analysis or external noise,
We can disconnect from that inner knowing.
We can start second-guessing ourselves which can lead to indecision,
Regret,
Or going along with things that don't actually serve us.
Intuition is often quiet,
But it has a distinct tone.
Here are a few signs you're experiencing intuitive guidance.
First,
It's calm and clear,
Not frantic or fear-based.
It tends to arise without overthinking.
It feels like a pull or knowing,
Rather than a push.
One of the most helpful practices is to start noticing how your body reacts to things.
Do you feel open and light,
Or heavy and tense?
Our bodies often speak the language of intuition before our minds catch up.
In my own life,
Some of the biggest shifts came from trusting that quiet voice,
Even when it didn't make sense to others.
And every time I've ignored it,
I've learned a lesson the hard way.
So here are some practical ways to tune in to your intuition,
Because that's what we all want,
Isn't it?
How do we actually do it?
How do we make use of this amazing mental faculty that we've been given?
Number one,
Here's five ways.
So the first one,
Number one,
Create quiet space.
So intuition rarely gets through the noise.
If we carve out a few minutes of stillness each day,
Even five minutes,
That can really help.
Number two,
Ask a question and notice your first feeling.
So before you dive into pros and cons,
Ask,
What feels right?
Don't analyse,
Just observe.
No overthinking here.
Number three,
Journal your intuitive nudges.
It's really helpful to keep track of moments you just knew something.
Over time,
You can start to see patterns.
Number four,
Meditate regularly.
Meditation isn't just calming,
It helps to quiet the noise so you can hear that inner wisdom.
And number five,
Use grounding practices.
Yoga,
Breathwork,
Nature walks,
These all help you to reconnect to your body where intuition often speaks first.
So now I have a few questions for you to reflect upon that may help you get further on this intuition journey.
So you might want to pause this for a moment and get a pad and a pen or take some notes on your phone.
So I have four questions.
First of all,
When have you trusted your intuition and what happened?
I'll just give you a few moments to have a think about that.
When have you trusted your intuition and what happened?
And second,
When have you ignored it and what did you learn?
When have you ignored it and what did you learn?
That's a powerful one.
The next one,
How does your intuition show up for you?
What does it feel like?
Different for everybody.
So how does your intuition show up for you?
What does it feel like?
And finally,
What would change in your life if you trusted yourself more?
Wow,
This is a big one and requires a lot of thinking.
You might want to come back to this question.
What would change in your life if you trusted yourself more?
Okay,
So now for something a little different.
Let's try something to close this episode a little differently.
This is an intuition anchor exercise,
A practice to help you create a body-based connection to your intuitive yes.
So find a quiet space and close your eyes.
Take a few deep breaths.
Think of a time when you felt deeply aligned with a choice you made,
When you just knew it was right.
Remember how your body felt.
Where did you feel the yes?
Maybe in your chest,
Your gut,
A sense of lightness,
A sense of warmth.
Now gently place your hand over that area.
Let yourself anchor into that sensation.
This is what your intuitive yes feels like.
You can come back to this any time you need to check in with yourself.
Take one more deep breath and when you're ready,
Open your eyes.
Thank you so much for joining me for this episode.
I hope it reminded you that your intuition isn't some mystical thing that only a few people have.
It's in all of us and the more we listen,
The stronger it gets.
It's a mental muscle.
Until next time,
Trust yourself.
You already know a lot more than you think.
