Hello friends and welcome again to another day of our 22 days of guided meditation navigating recovery and overcoming adversity.
Today is our 12th day together and today we are going to be talking about clearing away the wreckage of our past.
Although we may acknowledge that our addictions are not serving us or the people in our lives,
We often end up justifying our behaviors anyway.
Even though our choices cause others pain,
Obtaining temporary relief from our own pain usually takes precedence over creating comfort for others because we feel that in order to feel fulfilled we require something outside of ourselves.
As we discovered in day 6,
Ultimately the more intense the obsession for our addiction is the more likely we are to fail to consider how our choices affect others.
With that said though,
Once we start meditating regularly we recognize we cannot find fulfillment outside ourselves which then causes our decisions to become less desperate.
It is then from this place of having inner peace and being a conscious choice maker that our commitment to transformation brings about that we become ready to heal our relationships.
Though it is often important that we directly take responsibility for the choices we have made in the past and approach those who are hurt by these choices in an attempt to clear away the wreckage,
The greatest contribution we can make in order to heal our relationships is to have peace in our own hearts.
It is when we have peace in our own hearts that we make choices that are of maximum benefit for ourselves and all those affected by our choices and everyone we encounter leaves our space feeling a bit lighter than when they entered it.
Therefore cultivating peace in our own hearts through meditation is the best way to clear away the debris from our past because it shows through our actions not just our words that we have taken responsibility for our actions in the past and have committed to a life of healing and transformation.
Our behaviors ultimately speak way more loudly than our words so let's prepare for our meditation so we can cultivate this peace that will allow us to demonstrate we have changed.
Begin by finding a comfortable seat and closing your eyes.
Now begin to become aware of your breath not focusing or concentrating just simply watch the breath as it effortlessly flows in and out.
Now easy and effortlessly begin silently repeating today's mantra ah hum ah hum ah hum continue to repeat this mantra ah hum and whenever you notice yourself distracted by thoughts noises or physical sensations simply return your attention to silently repeating the mantra ah hum ah hum ah hum please continue with your meditation I will watch the time and when it is time to end our meditation you will hear me ring a soft chime when you hear the chime stop repeating the mantra and continue sitting quietly with your eyes closed enjoy It's time to release silently repeating the mantra ah hum and continue sitting quietly with your eyes closed now begin to bring some slight movement into your body wiggling your fingers and toes.
Whenever it feels comfortable slowly open your eyes.
I hope you enjoy the rest of your day and I look forward to meditating with you again tomorrow for day 13 of navigating recovery and overcoming adversity.
Namaste.
