So the mind loves to attach to thoughts,
To situations,
To external events,
To beliefs.
The mind wants to,
It has to,
The ego has to define itself and it does that by tricking us into identifying with.
Our political or religious beliefs or our sense of self in a relationship.
We can lose ourselves in another person.
We can lose ourselves in work,
In striving and achieving,
All of these things that draw us out of ourselves and the present moment.
Into the ego and the more that we're aware of that happening.
The more we can reclaim our awareness from the mind and keep it grounded here in the present moment using our senses,
Using what we're smelling,
Seeing,
Touching,
Tasting,
Feeling.
Staying in our bodies,
Staying connected to this moment.
And the more that we do that,
Over time we'll start to anchor ourselves here.
In the present moment,
And all of the peace and power that can only be found here.
And it just takes practice,
Just noticing when thoughts want to draw us into thinking,
And courageously and gently bringing our awareness back into our bodies with gentleness and ease again and again.
And we'll start to live in a state of much greater presence and peace and power.
For we won't be resisting life.
We won't be lost in thinking,
Lost in ego.
We'll be free.
