This lunar series meditation is called the beginner's mind.
Let's begin with resourcing the present.
Gently scanning our bodies to locate our anchor.
When we practice locating our anchor,
We are learning our bodies,
Noticing what we feel and where we feel it without judgment or in conclusion.
We are becoming aware,
Becoming aware of a point in our bodies that can ground our practice.
Maybe allow me to guide you through.
As we scan our bodies,
Remember you are in control.
Notice what brings you inward,
An anchor there throughout this practice when guided and when your body lets you know you should.
Here's a moment for you to decide on a comfortable position as I lead you in.
Maybe you lay down now or sit comfortably and close your eyes.
I'd like to invite you to your feet.
Gently notice,
Notice them.
Maybe bring your awareness to your toes,
Moving them around just increase the awareness.
Traveling up the arch of the foot,
Meeting at the heel,
And just noticing what you feel.
And when you're ready,
Meet me at the back of your knee,
Traveling at your pace up your calf muscles,
Tracing the back of the leg and just bringing your awareness there.
What is it that you feel?
Just notice.
And when you're ready,
We'll travel up the back of the thigh,
Meeting at the hips.
Take your time.
Really trace the back of the leg.
And just noticing what it is you feel.
And slowly when you're ready,
We'll start tracing up our spine.
Nice and slow until we meet at our shoulders.
And just noticing what you feel.
Relaxing in,
Releasing.
And then traveling up our neck when you're ready,
We meet at the back of our head.
And just noticing what we feel.
Relaxing in,
Even deeper.
Moving forward now into the ears,
Maybe paying attention to the sounds that we can hear.
Gently allow me to introduce an alternative.
And just leaning into what you hear.
Notice how it makes you feel.
And when you're ready,
Travel back down your neck,
Back into the shoulders.
And take your time tracing your arm down to your wrist.
Maybe move them a little to increase awareness.
Move into your fingers and your hand.
And notice them.
I'd like to invite you to place one hand on your chest and the other on your belly.
Just noticing the natural rhythm of your breath.
Bringing your attention to the heartbeat,
If you can find it.
And now maybe into the rise and fall of the belly.
Good.
How does that feel?
Let's just be here for a moment.
As you intend to be here in this moment,
Notice where you are resourcing it.
What is holding your body's attention?
What returns your attention to this moment?
Lean in and anchor there as I invite your attention to these words.
Intention setting is like cause and effect.
When we intend to have an effect,
We are to discover what causes it.
We always begin with a cause.
What are the things we struggle with when we are invited to begin again?
What is being asked of us?
Patience.
When we begin something,
The evidence of direction isn't always there.
And so when we start,
We must wait patiently for the first guided step.
Waiting sometimes looks like stillness and presence.
When that proves to be incorrect for us,
Waiting adopts the informal tone of trying,
Tasting,
Exploring,
Until something whispers to us,
This way,
This is the way you should go.
Be ready to listen.
Your mind might not hear it,
But your body knows.
Our bodies can feel the guidance more clearly when we are in them.
Present and still are present and doing.
Patently,
We embrace the understanding that right now,
We may not know all there is to know about where we are going and where it will take us,
Or how soon we will get there.
We are just to set our intention and patiently wait.
Trust.
Trust,
Of course,
Is required in the patient.
We practice trust by not expecting.
There is no need to expect when it will come.
There is no need to expect how it will work.
There is no need to expect how it will come.
There is no need to expect when it will work.
There is no need to expect that you will go unrewarded for your patience,
Presence,
And trust.
And trust,
We are invited to flow.
We surrender to a pace and a rhythm that only requires of us to come to the moment.
Inviting us into our lives and asking us to come to our bodies,
Remaining here to begin again.
A beginner's mind knows that in this very moment,
This moment right here,
Is the closest seat to our answers and direction.
The beginner's mind is ready to journey,
To take its time and give its focus to the now.
To remain focused in the now.
To be anew.
I'd like to guide you back to your anchor now.
Anchor in as I leave you with these words.
Mantra.
In all my patience and without expectations,
I trust,
I flow,
And I am here to begin again.
In all my patience and without expectation,
I trust,
I flow,
And I am here to begin again.
In all my patience and without expectations,
I trust,
I flow,
And I am here to begin again.
My sacred friend,
I wish you every blessing on this new journey.
Know that you are new.
Welcome and end.
