Make yourself comfortable as we begin to look a little bit more into these strong and uncomfortable physical sensations and pain.
You may be sitting or lying down.
Take a little bit more time now to bring as much ease into the body as you can.
Perhaps taking a cushion,
A blanket,
Adjusting your position so you can be here in this exploration together.
Let's begin now by exploring the sensations of the body as they are right now.
From your toes all the way up your legs,
From the fingertips all the way up your arms.
Beginning to observe any tension,
Any aches,
Any pain that stands out.
Moving up the torso,
The front and the back and over your face and head.
Scanning the body,
Beginning to see what's here right now.
What calls out,
What feels difficult.
The sensations may be a pulsing sensation,
An aching,
A stabbing,
Perhaps a heaviness sensation.
You may be noticing hot or cold or maybe there's just an unpleasantness towards this part of your body.
Beginning to explore it a little bit more and seeing if you can be with it.
And if you find that it's too strong,
That you're not ready to be with this strong sensation,
That's okay.
Perhaps find a place in your body that feels not so uncomfortable and difficult at this time.
Taking your time with exploring the pain.
If you feel ready,
Perhaps you can go directly to the pain,
To where you feel those strong sensations.
What else is there to be known?
Any other sensations?
Are the sensations increasing in intensity or decreasing in intensity?
How are they changing?
No need to push too hard.
At any time,
Feel free to rest again.
Take a compassionate perspective towards these strong,
Perhaps,
Sensations that you've had for many,
Many years.
Treating them kindly,
Slowly getting to get to know them a little bit more,
Getting up close to them.
And what about the sensations now?
Any changes?
Maybe now you're feeling ready to move to another part of the body.
And if not,
Feel free to stay.
Otherwise,
Scanning the body and looking for the next strong sensation that you'd like to work with today.
Exploring it,
Noticing the sensations.
Strong,
Sharp or dull,
Perhaps.
What is there to know about this part of your body?
And if you're finding it too difficult to be with the sensation,
You may like to slowly go into the sensation and then come out a little bit.
Going in and out.
A bit like a pendulum.
Gently touching into it as much as it feels possible for you at the moment.
And then coming out to where it feels not so strong,
Where there feels a little bit more ease in the body.
Going in and out.
If that feels that it's helpful for you,
Getting to know this part of the body that is calling to you,
That wants to be seen,
Wants to be known.
And continuing in this way,
Perhaps there's another sensation in the body.
Or maybe the first sensation is calling you again.
You can go back to that.
Or you might like to stay where you're at.
And continuing to do this with as much compassion,
With as much care and patience as you possibly can.
As you tend to this beautifully exquisite body that is yours.
And continuing to explore in your own pace.
