And it's the end of the day.
Let's take a little bit of time to reflect on this day.
As you look back over your day,
This morning,
In the middle of the day,
All the way through to this evening,
Is there anything that you feel happy about?
You feel pleased about?
You feel proud about?
Something that you'd like to celebrate?
Perhaps there's something that you're grateful for from today.
Take a moment here to reflect on the positives from today.
Maybe you did something for yourself today.
Or perhaps you did something for someone else.
Even a small act of kindness.
What were the things that brought you happiness,
That touched your heart,
That brought a smile to your face?
Maybe it was the connection with another person,
A child,
Or a pet.
Maybe it was the connection with nature,
The smell of a flower,
Looking up into the sky.
What brought you joy today?
And perhaps there were times today when things were difficult,
Things were challenging and didn't go your way.
Maybe you got overwhelmed with emotions,
Or flooded by thoughts.
And at those times you found it really difficult.
Perhaps there were times throughout today when you might have said not the most pleasant thing,
Or you might have taken action to hurt yourself or somebody else,
Whether intentional or not.
Looking back over today,
Seeing the times when you felt hurt,
When you felt disconnected,
Misunderstood.
The times when you felt maybe alone.
And as we look back over our day,
The intention is not to bring further hurt or worry,
Or further difficulty towards us.
We're reflecting on our day,
Both the uplifting things and also the difficult things.
So we can see where there's opportunities to make changes,
To make different choices throughout our day.
So that ultimately we feel less stress,
Less suffering,
And so too do others.
For when we hurt ourselves,
Others also feel the hurt.
And when we hurt others,
We too feel that hurt.
Can we let go of the judgment?
Can we not condemn or criticize ourselves for any shortcomings,
For any mistakes we might have made today?
And can we begin to see,
Even in the small things,
The beauty,
The joy that each day can bring?
If we look for it,
It's there to be seen.
The smell of flowers,
The smile of someone else,
The laughter of children,
The birds singing,
And even each breath we take bringing in new energy,
Bringing in the potential for love and peace with each breath.
Can we reflect here about our day and what our highest intention is for our life,
For living?
And how that highest intention for living,
We can bring it into all our thoughts,
All our words,
Wise speech,
Mindful listening,
And all our actions,
For the benefit of all beings.
