Hello,
I hope that today's talk finds you well.
I just want to give you a gentle reminder to give it time.
We are in a microwave society where we talk fast,
We think fast,
We respond fast,
And we expect that of other people.
But sometimes we just need to slow down.
I remember watching a movie,
An old movie,
Where the gentleman was in jail and he was incarcerated and he decided,
Okay,
Once I get out,
I'm going to change lives by sharing my story.
He got out 20 years later and his message to the younger people were,
Hey,
Stop for a moment.
Let the sting wear off the slap.
You never make a permanent decision in an emotional state.
So whatever you're dealing with,
Good,
Bad,
Or ugly,
Doesn't have to be negative.
Be sure to give it time.
Research the job.
Get to know the partner and the relationship,
People they're connected with.
See how they act not only when they're happy,
But when they're sad or when they're disappointed.
Definitely when they're grieving.
And you get to know all sides of people,
Of jobs,
Of expectations.
So no matter what you do,
I urge you,
Give it time.
Thank you so much.
