Hello,

I'm Dr.

Neffi,

Author of Fuel for Your Soul on LinkedIn.

I hope this message finds you well.

Today I want to just give you some hopeful words.

It will get better.

There are moments in life when those words themselves,

It will get better,

Find us bewildered.

It's hard to believe.

We can feel this heavy weight upon us.

The nights feel long.

And when you've done everything you know how to do,

But somehow you're still tired.

It's like,

You know where you are right now and you know where you want to go,

But you're stuck.

But the truth is,

Nothing is wrong with you.

Struggle doesn't mean you're weak.

Pain doesn't mean you failed.

And feeling stuck,

It doesn't mean you'll stay there forever,

Even though it doesn't feel that way.

Sometimes life asks us to sit in the uncomfortable middle.

Not where we were,

Not yet where we're going to be.

And guess what?

That space can feel lonely,

Very lonely,

Even when someone's next to you,

Even when you have friends around you.

That's what loneliness is.

But here's the truth.

We often forget just because there aren't better yet doesn't mean that there isn't better to come.

Growth rarely announces itself.

And healing doesn't always feel like progress.

Often it feels like exhaustion.

Like tears.

Like learning how to breathe again.

And that counts.

Better doesn't always arrive at a sudden miracle.

Sometimes it just comes quietly.

One day you wake up and you feel better.

One day you're on a walk and you start crying.

It's therapeutic.

Sometimes talking to somebody.

And the way you get out of your bed,

Even when you don't want to.

In the moments you choose kindness for others instead of yourself.

Even speaking of yourself,

We have to be careful of how we criticize and talk to ourselves.

Would you treat a friend or someone you love that way?

More than likely not.

So in the pause where you stop asking,

What's wrong with me?

Start asking,

What do I need to do right now?

What can I do today?

It will get better because nothing stays the same forever.

Not the storm.

Not the pain.

Not the season you're in.

Even the hardest chapters turn.

Not because you force them to.

But because life moves on.

One breath at a time.

Speaking of breath,

Stop for a moment.

Just take a deep breath.

I bet you didn't notice you were holding your breath or you were breathing very shallowly.

Continue breathing on your own time.

So if today all you can do is survive,

Let that be enough.

If hope feels too big,

Borrow peace instead.

If tomorrow feels too overwhelming,

Stay right here in this moment while you're still breathing,

Still trying,

And still here.

And one day,

Whether you believe me or not,

Maybe sooner than you think,

You will look back and realize you didn't just make it through.

You became stronger,

Possibly more empathetic and softer,

And more than likely more compassionate because now you understand how it feels.

It will get better,

My friends.

Not because life becomes perfect,

But because you become more resilient,

More aware,

And more connected to yourself.

And that makes all the difference.
