Welcome to this meditation on self-compassion.
My name is Francie,
And I'm honored to guide you
on this journey towards more self-love
and self-appreciation today.
Self-compassion is the practice of treating ourselves
with the same kindness,
Care,
And understanding
that we would offer to a dear friend in times of need.
It involves acknowledging our own suffering and challenges
with a gentle and compassionate heart
rather than with harsh judgment or criticism.
Research is telling us that cultivating self-compassion
can lead to greater emotional resilience,
Mental well-being,
And overall life satisfaction.
In this meditation,
We'll explore the practice
of self-compassion and how to extend kindness
and understanding to ourselves,
Body,
Mind,
And soul,
Especially during difficult times.
So please take a moment to find
a comfortable seated meditation position,
Allowing yourself to settle into a posture
that feels relaxed and alert.
With your next exhale,
Gently begin to close down your eyes
and bring your attention to the natural rhythm
of your breath.
Take a few moments to simply observe the breath,
Feeling the gentle rise and fall of your chest
with each inhale and with each exhale.
Notice the sensation of the air entering
and leaving your body,
Grounding you
into this present moment.
Now gently bring your awareness to your physical body.
Take a few deep breaths,
Scanning your body
from head to toe,
Just noticing any areas
of tension or discomfort.
As you exhale,
Imagine releasing any tension
or tightness that you may be holding onto
and allow your muscles to relax and soften.
Acknowledge any challenges that your physical body
may be facing,
Whether it's pain,
Illness,
Fatigue,
Or simply the wear and tear of daily life.
Just offer yourself compassion and understanding,
Knowing that your body is doing the best it can
to support you on your journey.
Now shift your focus to your mental
and emotional well-being.
As you exhale,
Allow your body to relax
and allow your mind to be free of tension
and emotional well-being.
Notice any thoughts or feelings that arise,
Just allowing whatever is arising to be there
without judgment,
Without attachment,
Simply allowing yourself to observe whatever is arising,
Just allowing yourself to be free of tension
and emotional well-being.
Acknowledge the challenges that your mind
may be grappling with.
Maybe it's stress,
Maybe some anxiety,
Self-doubt,
Or negative self-talk
has made a presence in your mind.
Acknowledge that you are not alone in your struggles.
Acknowledge that you are not alone in your struggles.
Acknowledge that you are not alone in your struggles.
Acknowledge that you are not alone in your struggles.
Acknowledge that you are not alone in your struggles.
Acknowledge that you are not alone in your struggles.
Acknowledge that you are not alone in your struggles.
Acknowledge that you are not alone in your struggles.
Acknowledge that you are not alone in your struggles.
Acknowledge that you are not alone in your struggles.
Acknowledge that you are not alone in your struggles.
Acknowledge that you are not alone in your struggles.
Acknowledge that you are not alone in your struggles.
Take this opportunity to offer yourself
compassion and acceptance.
Cultivating trust.
That you're exactly where you need to be
in this moment.
And that you have the strength,
The resilience,
The inner resources
to navigate whatever comes your way.
Take a moment
to simply sit with yourself
in this space of compassion and
acknowledgement.
Giving yourself space to be
exactly as you are
without judgment or criticism.
Just allowing yourself to be
exactly as you are.
As our meditation
draws to a close,
Take
one big deep breath in.
And as you exhale,
Let out a soft sigh.
Gently bringing your awareness back to the present moment.
And join your hands together
at your heart space.
Inviting yourself back into this space
of self-compassion and
acknowledgement whenever you need it.
Whenever you feel that inner judgment
or criticism coming in,
Reminding yourself
to simply take a few moments
to connect with your breath
and with your heart.
I invite you to carry this sense of
compassion and acceptance with you
throughout the rest of your day.
Knowing that you are so worthy
of love and kindness.
Most especially from yourself.
Thank you so much for your
presence here today.
I hope to see you in a meditation
again soon.
Sending you so much love.
Namaste.
