Today's Consideration Every time we step away from God,
We subject ourselves to the whims of the world.
When we're with God,
His favor makes us fat,
In a good way.
Under Him,
We face obstacles,
Difficulties,
And hardships with joy,
Knowing that we will be victorious in the end.
We can take away the fear,
Doubt,
And anxiety,
And relax in experiencing yet another example of how God is with us.
Soon,
We so effortlessly sail over obstacles that we scarcely acknowledge them anymore.
The potential downfall is when,
In our comfort,
We forget that God is protecting us.
We forget that we have this partnership with God and,
Rather,
Start believing that we manage our own lives.
Pretty soon,
We stop communicating with God because we think we have all the answers.
When we step away from God,
Our starvation doesn't come instantly.
Gradually,
We stop nurturing our relationship with God.
Gradually,
We start stumbling over obstacles,
Still succeeding,
Just not so effortlessly.
Gradually,
Anxiety,
Fear,
And doubt creep in.
We don't realize we're losing our fatness,
Losing our favor.
Sometimes we are at the point of starvation when we realize we have gone astray.
We may try to fix things on our own using the worldly means that we've learned,
But this does nothing but give a false sense of hope because,
In the end,
Nothing is produced.
Starving and broken,
We return to God to relearn his ways and reestablish the relationship.
We cannot succeed without God.
Our partnership with him is meant to be everlasting.
Seek ye first the kingdom of God,
And then all things will be added to you.
