Hello there,

Thank you for deciding to listen to this short meditation which will prepare you for a restful and pleasant sleep I'm so honoured to join you on this journey and hope that you'll find the rest that you're looking for Whatever kind of day you may have had,

You can take a moment to gently thank yourself for being here for taking the time and making the effort to wind down in a calm and nourishing way to thank yourself for consciously making that choice today Let's start this practice by getting comfortable in whichever position you'll be sleeping in Don't worry too much about getting it right immediately Give yourself the flexibility to make adjustments later if you need to as maybe your temperature changes or your body becomes uncomfortable in certain areas You have the power to make this practice whatever you want it to be When you feel like you've found a good comfy spot,

Allow yourself a few really refreshing deep breaths and don't rush them savour that oxygen flowing into you Maybe if you like you can picture pure white energy flowing into you when you breathe in and grey your black swirls of energy escaping you when you breathe out and with every out breath feel the stresses of your day just dissipating away into your surroundings Allow yourself to just breathe naturally now taking note of the rhythm or cadence of that breathing Allow yourself a little time to know each unique breath as you take it A useful exercise I like to do is to notice the very subtle pause at the top and bottom of each breath Try to allow yourself the time and peacefulness to count to five of those in breaths and out breaths If you're not feeling relaxed yet,

That's completely fine There's no rush Don't put any pressure on yourself to force it if you're not feeling relaxed But just allow yourself to be in this very moment without any worries or concerns for the past or for the future Try to just be here right now in this very moment with your breathing unaffected by the influences of the world Whether you've had a challenging or relaxing day,

It can be truly beneficial for us to end positively Allowing ourselves to close the day out on a good note where we can be grateful for the things that we have and with a sense of joy for the rest and recuperation we are about to have You can even take a moment now to think about some of the things you are grateful for Whether it be today specifically or from other days this week or other days in the month It might be people you've met,

Lessons you may have learned from them,

The things that you've seen or even the simple acknowledgement of food and a roof over your head Just gently in your own time you can check in again with your breathing and see if you're able to once again count to five In and out breaths once more Without any pressure or stress,

Just challenge yourself in a friendly way to see how many you can count to If you find yourself reaching five,

You can try and count down again to zero As you prepare for this night of sleep,

I want to let you know that you are a unique and special individual And whatever kind of day you may have had,

Know that you deserve love,

Kindness,

Health and joy and knowing so will allow you to move deeper into relaxation here tonight as your well deserved rest approaches As we finish this practice,

Know that there is no one like you in this world and you have the capacity for wonderful things I hope that when you wake tomorrow you can do so refreshed,

Healthy and overflowing with positive momentum to carry you smoothly through the day Have a wonderful sleep
