What is it that you need in this moment?
Instead of answering this question with your head,
I'd like you to tune into your body and listen to what your body has to say.
So why don't we settle into this moment by taking a nice deep breath in and slowly letting that air out.
Inhale deeply once again,
And release.
A third and final time together,
Deep breath in,
And with control,
Breathe out.
Continue to breathe in this way,
Noticing the rise and fall of your stomach as you breathe in and breathe out.
Whenever you notice that your attention is no longer on your breath,
Take a moment to acknowledge wherever you are,
And gently,
With lots of kindness and without judging yourself,
Guide your attention back to your breathing.
This diaphragmatic breathing,
This belly breathing,
Allows the body to relax,
And as your body relaxes,
Your mind will settle as well.
But for now,
Bring acceptance to the activity of your mind as you continue to come back to your in-breath and your out-breath.
So,
What do you need in this moment?
Do you need water?
Or maybe something to eat?
Do you need empathy?
Maybe a hug?
Maybe a smile?
Maybe you have a need to play?
What is your body telling you?
We often forget how intelligent the body is,
And so we tend to allow our mind to overrule our body signals.
In this moment,
Your body is communicating with you.
Be still and listen.
Listen to your body the way you would listen to a wise teacher.
When you open your eyes,
I invite you to give your body what it needs.
Thank you for sitting with me.
See you next time.
