My name is Fatima Farmer and thank you for joining me for this guided meditation on overcoming rejection.
I invite you to listen to this meditation as often as you need to,
In the morning or at night.
If you're currently experiencing a difficult or disappointing situation,
It may be helpful to listen to it daily.
If you're ready to begin,
Go ahead and find a comfortable position.
Allowing your body to drop into a relaxing meditative state.
Take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your mouth and just notice where the rejection is showing up in your body right now.
Do you feel any pain or tension in your belly or maybe your shoulders,
Lower back or jaw?
Just quickly scan your body for any areas of discomfort and notice the physical sensations of rejection.
As human beings existing in a world with constant change,
We're all susceptible to experiencing rejection at some point in our lives.
And although we may anticipate it,
It doesn't take away the hurt and disappointment and oftentimes shame that comes with being rejected.
Rejection can cause us to question our self-worth,
Our purpose.
And if it's not managed appropriately,
It can lead us into a spiral of negativity,
Unhealthy coping mechanisms,
Self-sabotaging,
And immense pain.
My prayer and intention for this meditation is that through affirmations and stillness,
We are all able to reach a sense of peace despite what we are currently experiencing in our circumstances.
If you haven't already,
I invite you to go ahead and just close your eyes.
Connecting to the earth beneath you,
Acknowledging the grounding,
Supporting effort and sensation beneath your body.
Allowing yourself to be here now in this moment with whatever emotions may be arising,
Bubbling to the surface.
Allowing yourself to be seen to be vulnerable.
Taking a deep breath in through the nose,
Filling the belly with air and exhaling out through the mouth.
Allowing the shoulders to drop.
Again,
Breathing in deep through the nose and out through the mouth.
I invite you to meditate on or repeat the following affirmations aloud or silently to yourself.
The discomfort and disappointment won't last forever.
It's only temporary.
The pain I feel is temporary.
What happened to me is not my fault.
If this didn't work out,
Something better is on the way.
I am deserving of so much more.
I am worthy of love and respect.
I didn't deserve what happened to me.
What they did isn't a reflection of my worth.
More is on the way.
Abundance is on the way.
Peace is on the way.
Joy is on the way.
Love is already here.
Joy is already here.
Peace is already here.
Abundance is already here.
I am loved.
I am covered.
I am protected.
I am connected.
I don't have anything to fear.
It is okay to release the shame.
I am safe.
It is okay to release the pain.
I am supported.
I am powerful.
I will get through this.
I will be blessed by this.
In this moment,
I have everything that I need.
God,
I will surrender my weight to you.
God,
I will trust your plan more than I trust my own.
I know that in the right time I will experience a breakthrough.
I know this season is for a purpose and God won't fail me.
I will wait with joy today.
I will do what I'm called to do in the meantime.
I will trust the divine.
I will rest in the promises of God even though I don't understand the plan.
I will celebrate in advance.
Take a deep breath in through your nose,
Placing one hand over your heart.
And release out through the mouth.
Taking a moment to feel your heart beating.
Sending gratitude to your body,
To your mind,
And to your spirit.
Giving yourself permission to release the shame and to cast your burdens.
Thank you for joining me in this meditation.
And I invite you to use the next few moments to do whatever you need.
If that is sitting in silence or journaling,
Praying or crying,
Allow yourself to express that now.
