Self-worth is defined by Merriam-Webster as “a feeling that you are a good person who deserves to be treated with respect.” However, we often struggle to believe that we are deserving due to the trauma and pain of our pasts. This meditation should be listened to daily to help you reprogram your mind around your worth and confidence. Through combining a body scan, visualization, Christian scripture, and affirmations you'll have a renewed sense of peace and confidence after each listen.

Thank you for joining me for this self-worth guided meditation.

According to Webster's Dictionary,

Self-worth is a feeling that you are a good person who deserves to be treated with respect.

And oftentimes,

We struggle with believing that we are deserving.

My intention is that this meditation will help you in your practice of building your self-worth.

So join me today and any other day.

You can listen to this in the morning,

The afternoon,

Or at night,

As much as you need to,

To help reprogram your mind with affirmations and scriptures centered around self-worth.

So if you haven't already,

I invite you to find a comfortable position.

You can do this sitting,

Lying,

Or even walking if you choose to.

Just settle into your seat with your feet planted firmly on the floor,

Rooting yourself to this moment,

To the earth,

Allowing yourself to be present.

As you take a deep breath in through your nose and slowly exhale out through your mouth,

Roll your shoulders back and down away from your ears,

Opening your chest,

Expanding your heart,

Ready to receive.

If you haven't already,

Go ahead and close your eyes.

And with eyes closed,

I invite you to just bring your awareness to your feet.

Just notice your feet and the surface beneath them.

Acknowledge that space between the soles of your feet and the floor.

Root yourself into this moment and slowly start to bring your awareness up,

Noticing every toe,

Every bone,

Your ankle,

Your heels,

Your calves.

Bringing your attention up your legs,

Noticing your kneecaps,

The back of your thighs,

The front of your thighs.

Scanning up,

Hands rested in the palms of your laps,

Just noticing your fingertips.

Noticing your hips,

If there's any tension there.

Bringing your awareness up into your arms now,

Just noticing your wrists,

Sending awareness to your forearms.

Your biceps,

Triceps,

Shoulders.

And allow your awareness to just fill in the center of your body,

The space between your hips and your shoulders.

Noticing not just the front of your body,

But also your back,

If there's any tension in any of those areas.

Allowing your breath to be used as a guide,

To just soften any tension that you may feel.

Eyes closed,

Taking slow deep breaths in through the nose and out through the mouth.

Become aware of your throat space.

Notice your neck,

Notice your jaw,

If there's any tension there,

Just go ahead and breathe into it and relax it a little bit more.

Allowing your mouth to hang open,

Your tongue loose in your mouth,

Not tight against the roof.

Just sending relaxation to every part of your body.

Breathing in deep,

Noticing the space right between your brows,

Acknowledging if there's any tension there,

Without judgment,

Only with compassion.

Breathe deep into that space and release any tension.

Bringing your awareness up past your brows,

Past your forehead,

To the crown of your head.

Immersing yourself in relaxation.

And at the very crown of your head,

I want you to imagine a color.

Imagine whatever color that came to mind.

Don't second guess yourself.

And that color represents love.

Self love,

God's love,

Universal love.

Now imagine that light of color that started at the top of your head is now ascending around your entire body.

Not only is it shining through you from your feet to the top of your head,

It is now surrounding you fully.

Lighting up your entire presence,

Extending all around you.

Immerse yourself in that golden light of energy.

Taking a deep breath in through the nose and slowly exhale out through the mouth.

Just notice how your body feels.

In this place of peace and relaxation,

I'm going to share some affirmations with you,

Some scriptures,

And some reflection questions.

Be gentle with yourself in this moment.

And just allow whatever to come up to be witnessed.

Not to judge it or analyze it or critique if it's right or wrong.

Instead,

To just witness.

Let's begin.

If you feel led to repeat these affirmations,

Allow.

Please do so.

The actions of others are not a reflection of my worth.

I am worthy despite how I've been treated.

The fact that I am here is proof that I am worthy.

I am perfect as I am.

I am whole and complete.

I am worthy of respect even when people didn't give it to me.

I am worthy of love.

I am worthy of peace.

I am worthy of joy.

I am worthy of abundance.

I am worthy of love.

I am worthy of love.

I am worthy of love.

I am worthy of love.

You were created with purpose.

You were created with vision and passion.

You were created and formed and predestined before you were ever born with intention.

What you see here is proof that you are worthy.

God didn't make any mistakes when he created you.

And you are deserving to be treated with respect and love.

And although you may have been hurt in the past by people who didn't value you or see your worth,

You know that how they treated you and showed up in your life is not a reflection of God's image of you.

You are worthy.

You are loved.

You are deserving.

Take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your mouth.

Witnessing whatever is coming up.

Allowing yourself to be in this moment with yourself.

If you need to cry,

Cry.

If you need to give yourself a hug,

Give yourself a hug.

Breathing in deep through the nose and out through the mouth.

I invite you to reflect on the following questions.

What external factors have been dictating my self-worth?

What external factors have been dictating my self-worth?

Just reflect on the answers in your mind.

If you need to revisit these questions later,

You can always listen to this again.

What did past painful experiences cause me to believe about myself?

What did past painful experiences cause me to believe about myself?

And finally,

Who do I need to forgive?

Who do I need to forgive?

Breathing in deep through the nose.

Sighing slow,

Gentle breath out through the mouth.

Acknowledging that maybe the person you need to forgive first could be yourself.

It could be someone who hurt you or someone who didn't show up for you.

Or maybe they didn't value you.

Just acknowledge that hurt for a moment.

This may even be your first time acknowledging the hurt that you feel.

A person or situation caused you.

So just witness that for a moment without judgment or critique.

Breathing in deep through the nose and out through the mouth.

Repeat the following affirmation.

I am worthy despite my hurt.

I am worthy despite my hurt.

As we begin to close out this meditation,

I invite you to take a few more deep cleansing breaths.

In through the nose and out through the mouth at your own pace.

And just notice what has come up for you during this meditation.

You can begin to bring your awareness back into the space,

Back into your body.

Noticing the sound of my voice and any background noise in your apartment or bedroom.

Slowly start to wake your body up.

Just moving and stretching in any way that feels good to you.

Sending gratitude to yourself for committing to this practice.

And sending gratitude to God for reminding you of who's you are.

And if you haven't already,

Feel free to go ahead and open your eyes.

I pray that this was helpful and can be used as a part of your healing journey.

Thank you for joining me today.

I was born in a narcissistic family as the precocious black sheep. My worth was trashed by those sickos. Thank you for a lovely meditation. I learned today my self worth is blocking me from working.

This brought up a lot of deep, painful truths for me. I’ve attached my worth to other people’s judgements; my family is full of judgement, anger, neglect, expectations, traumas, addictions, and abuse. It’s time to acknowledge that it’s not me, that I have to find my own joyful path. I will clean & heal this wound, rediscover my true intrinsic worth & self-love.

This meditation was so powerful and deep for me. What a healing message that even though we have been rejected numerous times with awful experiences such as divorce, rejection of other sorts - that we are still lovable and God-made us this way
