Com Continuing my series on fairy species and pixies of course are one very interesting fairy species.
Most of the pixie stories they come from Ireland and England and Wales and pixies they are connected to moors and white spaces and in the UK pixies they are sometimes seen as house spirits and also sometimes as farm spirit protectors.
I think this is quite odd belief for pixies to be a farm protectors or connected to the farmland,
That kind of protectors.
The outlook of pixie is a tiny creature.
In a human form pixies usually wear green clothes and they have these tiny caps that have little bells on the top.
So if you hear bells that might mean that there are pixies around you.
Traditionally pixies are not described with wings but who knows maybe some of them have wings if they mix with fairies I don't know,
Maybe flower fairies.
Pixies they are really fond of riding so their animal symbol is a horse and their element is the earth.
So sometimes if you find a mushroom ring that are connected to fairies pixies are the ones that like to ride with their horses around mushroom rings and they are like horse protectors also in Britain.
I'm getting all the words confused now.
And pixies there are lots of stories about pixies the way they are very mischievous.
They are mischievous fairies and they are tricksters.
They are trickster fairies they like to lure people and trick them.
And if a pixie wants to trick a person they might hear bells ringing and then they follow the sound.
The pixies and the pixies trick them to the pools or rivers or something and then they just leave the person there to drown so they are not always very nice creatures they can be very mischievous.
And also there is this saying that if one likes to laugh a lot they laugh like a pixie.
If you laugh like a pixie you laugh so much that you cannot even catch your breath because something is so funny.
I think sometimes it's good to laugh like a pixie.
Pixies they can take different shapes they are also shape-shifters like most nature spirits are.
And pixies they prefer the shape of a horse naturally because they like horses a lot but also hedgehogs so pixie can also turn into a hedgehog.
I really love hedgehogs.
We have quite a lot of them in Finland as well and I really like hedgehogs totally off topic.
But pixies they can turn into hedgehogs as well and maybe because they have those spikes maybe that's connected to pixies being mischievous creatures.
There's some Christian mythology how pixie is going to be.
One is that they are spirits of unpathized children and maybe I don't know but I think that comes from a Christian origin not really pagan origin.
I just simply believe that they are creatures of very real and also there are stories that pixies can transform themselves into mushrooms and if a person would pick a mushroom that was a pixie transformed itself into a mushroom and the human would eat that they would start to behave more like a pixie.
They would become very loony and might do pranks for other people and become very much like a trickster.
And this person would most likely start to laugh like a maniac and laugh so much that they might even die or roll in the ground.
So it's good to be careful around pixie mushrooms and also what it would happen if you would eat a mushroom that is really a pixie and would you be turned into a pixie or would you let yourself guide by the pixie spirit and I think it might show some really interesting places for people.
I thought that was quite funny but also a bit creepy.
So these were stories of pixies.
I haven't come across pixies myself though I have seen fairies and elves and other things that other people might see as supernatural but I haven't come across pixies.
