Counting to Calm the Mind Guided Meditation Counting meditations allows you to focus your mind,
Helping to achieve a state of deep relaxation.
During this meditation,
It is totally normal for your mind to wander.
When you notice this happening,
Simply focus again on your breath.
Do your best not to judge yourself,
And just allow whatever thoughts to come up to pass without paying particular attention to them.
Before we begin,
Find yourself a comfortable chair to sit in or even lay down on a bed or couch.
Take a few deep breaths to center yourself and just begin to notice the feelings and sensations happening within your body.
Notice any areas of tension,
And also notice which parts of your body feel relaxed.
When you are feeling ready,
Turn your attention to your breathing.
Breathe slowly and deeply in and out.
In and out.
In and out.
As you continue to breathe,
Begin to count each breath out loud or to yourself.
In one,
Out one.
In two,
Out two.
In three,
Out three.
In four,
In five.
Continue counting on your own now,
Focusing all your attention on your breath and on the numbers.
As your attention drifts,
Focus again on your breathing.
If you lose count,
Simply start again at one.
Keep focusing on your breath and continue to count each inhale and exhale.
Don't worry if your attention wanders.
Just return to your focus on your breath.
Enjoy playing with this breath meditation for the next five minutes on your own.
Supported by Crystal Singing Bowl Music.
Now you can stop counting and simply relax into this very moment.
This is your chance to just be my friend.
Notice how you are feeling physically and mentally,
As well as notice how it feels to be more relaxed by simply taking a few breaths.
When you feel full and complete from this meditation,
Feel free to take a few moments to reawaken your mind and body.
Wiggle your fingers and wiggle your toes.
This helps to bring your body and mind back into the present time and space.
I invite you to move your arms and legs,
Helping to feel your body reawaken.
This is an excellent time to stretch and enjoy the sensations throughout your body.
Take a moment to look around and notice some of the sights,
Sounds,
Smells,
And the general atmosphere that is around you.
When you are feeling fully present,
You are welcome to go about your day and enjoy this relaxed feeling.
Namaste,
Friend.
