We often use the word "should" to project expectations, criticism, and judgment on ourselves and others. This meditation helps you release the tendency to use the word "should" and reclaim compassion and love for yourself and others using affirmations.

Just go ahead and find a quiet place to sit and just allow your breathing to settle in whatever way it wants.

Feel a deep relaxation moving from the top of your head down over your face,

Over your throat,

Over your shoulders.

And as we move down now over your chest and back,

Feel your body relaxing even further.

Release any tension in your stomach,

Your lower back,

Your hips and your pelvis.

And now allow your legs to fully relax.

Let go of any tension in your arms and your hands.

And now finally release anything you're holding onto in your feet.

Feel your entire body just settling and relaxing.

Take a really deep breath here in this relaxed state.

Finally fill your lungs and release through your mouth.

Take another deep breath in.

Fill yourself with the love that surrounds you.

And now release.

And take one more deep breath on your own,

Allowing yourself to be filled with love and light and release anything that you might be holding onto.

The following affirmations are meant to help you gain clarity around what you want to call into your life.

This is what you want more of,

What your priorities are.

I want you to repeat each statement after me out loud if at all possible.

There is nothing in life that I should do.

The word should has no power over me.

I release all unhealthy expectations of myself.

I am clear on how I want to spend my time.

I am clear on how I want to spend my time.

I am clear on how I want to take care of myself.

I release all judgments and criticisms of myself.

I release all judgments and criticisms of others.

I release all judgments and criticisms of others.

I acknowledge that others are a mirror of my self-image.

I love others unconditionally.

I love myself unconditionally.

I acknowledge that others are a mirror of my self-image.

And now,

Having made these statements,

Feel yourself more centered in your body and in your soul and more aligned with what you want out of life,

Not what you think you should do.

We offer up gratitude now for taking this time to become aligned and find clarity and find balance.

I thank you so much for being with me today.

And as you feel ready,

Slowly wiggle your fingers,

Wiggle your toes,

Softly move your shoulders and flutter your eyes open.

And know that these powerful statements that you have made will follow with you through the rest of your day.

Well, your first โ€œrepeat after meโ€ statement was highly unexpected and THE AUDACITY!!! ๐Ÿ˜† I did not expect to be a mess of tears - releasing the grip I hold on myself feels so freeing. Thanks for being part of my journey.

The irony is that by leaving a review, I am judging.

I was just berated pretty seriously by a friend that I'm not quite sure what was going on with her. This criticism thing is so ugly.

For 4 years, Iโ€™ve had little positive enforcement. But still care too much about what people think of me- there's one person in particular who's not even a friend but the best-friend of a former partner, whose opinion of me utterly destroyed me. She never liked me, never had a nice word to say about me, to be honest, she never even knew me - but she tore me apart so, so often. Letting go of opinions like that is a journey. Xx
